Yeah. With Spanish the articles also follow the masculine and feminine stuff. It’s confusing but that’s what it is.
Lol. I know about genders. De hecho, mi español es bastante bueno. I just don't think Carne is masculine like you said. It is La carne, not EL Carne.
Unless of course "EL Carne" is a Chilean Spanish thing.

Ese not esa because the word carne is masculine
Are you sure about this

Hermano, ¿qué tipo de carne es esa?
Looks like we can type in other languages now. Qué interesante.

Seun:
Dear Nairalanders,

By popular demand, we have ended the swearing of oaths before commenting on the Islam section.

However, the requirement to engage muslims and all Nairalanders with decency and respect remains.

We have promoted the Islam section to the top level because it's a very important religion.

We have renamed the Religion board as the Christianity Etc board, recognizing the fact that most non-Muslims are Christians.

Please enjoy! And feel free to share your about these changes.

Seun, why is it necessary for you to make Christianity less important than Islam?

"Islam is a very important religion". So, Christianity is not a very important religion? Which other religion has had a Cleric whose ing elicited condolences from every world leader including our very own president like the Pope?

You haven't still created equity.

Christians are not less significant nor less in number than Muslims in the country, so why is there a strictly Islam section but a "Christianity etc" board?

Letting the Christians have their own dedicated section without other religions included just as you've done for Islam is the fair thing to do.

I am not sure why this is a difficult thing for you to do. Though I suspect it's a political play, because I know you're a smart guy.

One can only hope you'll do what is right regardless.

And it's simple:

Let the religion board be titled RELIGION. Then, let there be a section titled Christianity and another titled Islam. Christianity section for Christians only. Islam section for Muslims only.
This is the popular demand, not what you've done. It's not the oath. It's the lack of equity that was the issue.

Thanks.

We shall also appreciate fairness and equity in religious matter by having Muslims and other non-Christians to swear an oath before being allowed to make comments on Christian topics like it’s currently applicable to the Islamic topics.

Thank you our dear Seun
@Seun, why do you keep ignoring this?

lol being strict and religious without provision is useless as the bible says that in the eyes of God an infidel who does all that and provides is better than the one who doesn’t and doesn’t provide. What is the use of his religiosity to me without provision. Shey I will use his goodness to buy food in the market, pay house rent and other bills.
The reason for not providing, you didn't say. But no qualms. Godspeed boss.

When I say useless, I mean useless. Infact I started paying house rent when I graduated from university to help my mom as the whole load was too much on her.
What was the reason for his lack of provision for the family?

I'm asking because I believe I have had a similar but worse situation, but I don't look at it the way you do. Mine even ed away when I was about 13. He left nothing. He never paid my fees or gave me money when he was with us. Mum was more or less the bread winner. But I don't consider him to have been "useless". Things just went bad for him which eventually lead to his death in fact. My father was respectable in the sense that he was strict and religious. He never visited brothels, beer palours, etc. I don't know if this is the case with yours?

1st Timothy 5:8
But if anyone does not provide for his own family, especially for his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

I'm just wondering, has he intentionally refused to provide? Like, he doesn't drop anything for the family? Like for food, rent, light bills, etc.?

Yes. If you type an entire post in a clearly foreign language, the anti spam bot bans you. Mrbrownjay has suffered the same when he types in French.
I am not sure it has to be an entire post. The first time I was banned, I typed just two words

Saw this on the chilean subreddit and it shows how different chilean spanish is different from the main spanish. Fun fact when I was learning spanish, I used to watch 31 minutos a chileans children show to get the differences between chilean spanish and spanish from spain
Lol. It seems we are only allowed to type in English on this forum. My initial response to this post was in Spanish and the bot banned me. The second time it's happening. I thought it was an error the first time. Shame on seun.
Anyway, I was saying that the general way of saying these words or phrases would still be understood if you used them, right? Like if you said "es/toy abu/rr/ido", you would still be understood as being bored, yes?

Of course, you would not find it reasonable for anyone to point out that these delusions/fixations are likely to lead nowhere good if not immediately nipped in the bud. Your best bet is to make an appointment immediately with a professional mental health therapist or counselor, so you can rid yourself of what is clearly an unhealthy fixation. undecided
Nairaland is a funny place. How is a Junkie telling someone else, not himself, to seek a therapist?

Why can't we post in a language other than English? The antispam bot bans you immediately you post anything that doesn't seem like English. Can you fix this? Or is this intentional?

I am not talking about now, but about many centuries ago when they were ruled brutally by absolute monarchy.
In the days of old, people migrated A LOT in search of greener pastures. This is common knowledge. There has always been refugees. Many of the current occupants of the top countries in the east and the west migrated and settled there. White Americans are European settlers.
Interestingly it was harder and riskier to travel across borders but people still did to find a better life. Many of these people now have descendants that are regarded as natives of the lands they settled in.
A few centuries from now, OP's descendants if he stays in Chile would be natives of Chile.

Throughout history, People have been migrating out of their land when life there is unbearable.
Part of the cause of the fall of the Roman empire was the huge exodus of people from the land. People were leaving because of the tyranny and difficulty in living.
Even not too long ago, many current day Argentinians are descendants of Italians who migrated from Italy.
I could go on and on. But let's not derail this thread.
Bye.

If you have records of ordinary Europeans doing japa and leaving the ruling class alone to fix the country, please share.
They don't have it anywhere as bad as we do. So why do that? These people have trivial problems like not knowing what a woman is. They don't have survival problems like we do.
You can't do anything when you can't even feed yourself and your family. But if you japa and succeed, you have a better chance at tackling the problems back home.

Should we not be concerned that just as Lagos discriminates against non-Yorubas when it comes to the spoils of government to which they contribute revenues, oyinbos and Asians discriminating against us blacks because we have failed to use our equal basic intelligence to develop our continent, but prefer the easy way of helping other races develop even better than us?

You have a point, but what are you suggesting? People should stay back and suffer? The common man in Nigeria has no power to effect any change in the country. People japa so that their kids can have a better life. Let the corrupt ruling class fix the country then we can have this conversation about not going to develop the land of foreigners.
For now, that's better than staying in the country for nothing but suffering. At this point, I wish everyone could just leave the country for them. Make dem dey rule themselves and those benefitting from their corruption.
It's better to face discrimination in a foreign land but at least have better opportunities for you and your kids to succeed. There's also discrimination in Nigeria but with little to no opportunities.
I tried to rent a house in Lagos recently and it took me more than 6 months to get a quite decent place because of the terrible discrimination.
I also don't know why you think going abroad to start a new life is "the easy way". For most people, it's not an easy way. It's harder. It just happens to be the better way than staying in Naija to hustle without any certainty.

I like his honesty. At least you heard him and knew he was serious. And as it wasn’t your cup of tea, you let him be.

Many of them won’t say anything because the girl they want doesn’t want to share. Then they trap her in a marriage and start gaslighting her with scripture and tradition when it could’ve all been avoided angry
This is usually not how it goes down. The guys who boldy claim this are usually not your average guy. They are usually very well-off. And these are the type of guys most of you want. So even when you know he won't be loyal to you alone, you still go ahead to marry him to secure the bag. That's what happens. Nobody traps anyone. Two consenting adults who know what they're doing.

I know you’re not asking me but the answer is not complicated.

Those men who want different women while still married can start by being honest at the beginning of the relationship. Let the woman know that’s what you are into. There are so many women who are okay with sharing their husbands as long as the man fulfills his part of the bargain whatever that looks like in their specific situation. The problem is men most of those kind of men don’t go for the women who are open to such arrangements. They want who no want them and the beginning of all their problems.

As for men whose wives refuse to sleep with them, divorce is always an option. Marriage no be by fire or force sha.

But I’ve even heard some women say when they’re older they won’t want sex. They don’t mind if the man gets it elsewhere as long as he’s discreet. If such a guy isn’t scared of getting HIV from side chicks, he can explore those options. Or if he’s one man one woman guy, he can still insist on a divorce and have a new wife who is willing to sleep with him.
Divorce rids men of their hard earned money in these countries

Are you living in a dark world? Dating app has been around since time immemorial. Even in the US, dating sites are widely used, especially by people who are always busy with work or other commitments that take up most of their time. In fact, dating apps are often recommended for introverts who may find it difficult to meet people in traditional social settings.
So asking if people still use dating sites is out of place, it’s like asking if people still eat food. Dating apps aren’t just active; they’re thriving. Even the busiest CEOs are out here swiping left and right!

It's a waste of time for guys
