Good morning.

There is a little explanation to do here in order to present the issue with clarity.

I initially chose check payment method in AdSense. Payment was sent on 24th January and the receipt in AdSense dashboard indicated "check". From information that I gathered, the check is supposed to arrive in time range of 2 - 4 weeks, all things being equal. The payment notification mail that AdSense sent to me stated that I should my bank if I don't receive payment after 5 working days. This I find confusing. I have visited the bank several times but they claimed that they didn't have any payment for my . I have been checking post office too but there is no message.
As it is, am not sure of the payment method Google used to pay.
Already, I have added wire transfer method for future payments.
What can I do to follow up to get the first payment easily.

The same thing with S.E.O. Wether you do it or not it depends on the quality of traffic you are getting. If you are getting like 50k pagviews per day from Nigeria and another person getting like 8k pagviews from first tire countries like UK, USA, Canada, India etc with high C key words. The person with 8k pagviews will earn higher.

I didn't want to reply you initially but let me school you a bit rather than follow your path.

1. What the last poster said about too many ads slowing site speed is correct.
2. Many ads do not translate to more earning as those ads will compete with each other and dilute each other.
3. Since there are many ad spaces, bid prices will be low.
4. Many of those ads will have low viewability especially those at the bottom of the page. This will affect earning negatively.
5. For search visibility, as said earlier, slow site loading speed will affect ranking negatively.
6. Too many ads will cause poor core web vitals which will affect ranking negatively.
8. Bounce rate will increase.
9. Pages per session will reduce.
10. Session duration will reduce.
11. Read about Google search algorithm. Above the fold ads not well implemented will cause ranking demotion.

There are many more but I can't possibly exhaust them here.

Summarily, to be a good blogger or , you should think the way Google thinks. Anything that affect experience negatively, google penalizes.

If a popular and reputable news site gets 5,000 dollars ad revenue per day, they can make much more with good SEO practice and good ads implementation.

My advice is that you target global audience. Just provide good content that is not specific to Nigeria. It is also possible that some of your posts target global audience and others target Nigerian audience. That is fine too.

Start with AdSense advertising in mind. It will help you to create quality website and content. When you get approved for AdSense, ads placement is very important. Seek help on this if you don't want to go through the learning and waiting time to earn substantially. Great content beats every other thing though.

Also, start with good CMS, good theme, good and original content and good search engine optimization strategy.

If you want to launch and start making money without going through many "learning from mistakes", get someone who has been in the blogging business to mentor you especially on SEO aspect.
