Take the radio off, and do Spotify monthly instead

Before reading imagine this happens in Nigeria what would you do, take your radio off? One day it will The move is aimed at boosting revenue for the state broadcaster, the authorities sayZimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa has signed into law a contentious bill that requires all motorists to buy a radio licence before acquiring vehicle insurance. There has been an outcry from some motorists as they will now have to pay $92 (£68) annually in order to listen to the radio in their vehicles. The introduction of the measure is part of a plan to widen revenue sources for the state broadcaster but critics say the licence fee is too high, especially given the difficult economic situation. Leading opposition figure Nelson Chamisa said the new law was "too draconian, anti-citizens and outrightly heartless". Responding to motorists' concerns on social media, Nick Mangwana, a senior official in the ministry of information, said the new law was "necessary" and "fair". There are about 1.2 million ed cars in the country but only 800,000 of them pay insurance, according to local media. The loss-making Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) relies for income on the licence fee as well as government grants, it also generates some revenue through advertising. A man called Bombshell fires up Zimbabwe's succession battle The Zimbabwean agitator unfazed by serial arrests But the broadcaster is struggling to make people pay for their TV and radio licences. Critics have been calling for the scrapping of the fee, accusing ZBC of biased coverage in favour of the governing Zanu-PF. The opposition has complained of unfair coverage by the broadcaster, especially during elections. ZBC has denied the accusation. Under the new Broadcasting Services Amendment Act, all motorists must now pay the radio licence fee before they can renew their vehicle insurance or obtain a licence from the Zimbabwe National Road Authority (Zinara). The changes, which were recently approved by parliament, pegs the fee at $23 per quarter, amounting to $92 per year. However, ZBC can grant exemptions to those who qualify, including tourists visiting the country. But the new amendment aims to eliminate loopholes and boost compliance with the requirement to have a licence. It prohibits all motor insurance companies from selling their products to motorists who do not hold a valid ZBC radio licence, unless they have a ZBC exemption certificate or the vehicle being insured does not have a radio receiver. But the law has drawn sharp criticism from motorists and opposition groups, terming it a burden on taxpayers. "Citizens are being pauperized left, right and centre, why does the citizenry of this country deserve so uncaring & heartless a leadership?" Chamisa posted on X. Another X described the measure as an "unjust assault on motorists". https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/clw0z9904xgo

In summary, humans will always want more and try to get more once they have an increase. Let's imagine the man earning 900k chooses to leave in a 1.5m house, feed his family with less than 150k like the man earning 90k He would have enough left. But we are humans after all, always want more and with more we create more problems as billionaires have problems in billions. Millionaires problem in millions, |

EFCC’s Case against Martins Vincent Otse The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the exercise of its mandate of tackling economic and financial crimes, invited Martins Vincent Otse owing to a series of petitions bordering on sundry issues of alleged financial crimes raised against him. He refused to show up in spite of several invitations sent to him through his known addresses and medium of communication. The petitions pertain to grave allegations of financial malfeasance which cannot be ignored by the Commission. It is needful to it that the Commission is aware of several unguarded attacks of the suspect against its operations. While such conduct is condemnable, his arrest was not informed by such attacks. The relevant law enforcement agency will be allowed to look into them. The EFCC has a lawful right to hold Otse in custody like any other suspect being investigated by the Commission. The appropriate Remand Order was obtained in this regard. He has been offered an istrative bail and would be released after fulfilling all the bail conditions. The Commission appreciates the interest of Nigerians in its operations. The ion, enthusiasm and torrential reactions to all of its activities are welcome. However, insinuations about its motive in carrying out its assignment should no longer continue. The EFCC should be allowed to do its job without fear or favour. As soon as investigations are concluded, charges will be filed. By the way it is worth noting that In their original X post before editing it they called him Martins "Innocent" Otse instead of Martins Vincent Otse 1 Like 1 Share |

also, a prophecy being fulfilled might show the Bible has value and insight but itt doesn’t cancel the fact that it’s been filtered through centuries of human influence. That’s the balance I think we should be honest about because based on the arguments I read on that twitter comments I had to ask myself if these people really belive what they're saying because they know or they were taught to not question their faith or Bible

MaxIntheHouse2:This idea of God being the Author of the Bible book is something I find hard to wrap my head around. He inspired the writings of different prophets, apostles etc but the Bible as we know today which is a compilation and translation of different writings that were "inspired by God" how can we be sure everything that was compiled was actually those inspired by God and not a mix of those by men and God to suit some agendas. I appreciate the reference to Isaiah and Micah as i had to check it out being my first tkme of reading that part as an adult. But here's where I have another question. If this prophecy points to a specific group today, then which group is it? Because the world right now is still full of war, greed, corruption, and divisions even among people who claim to follow the Bible. Christians disagree on core doctrines, use different Bibles, and even fight each other politically and culturally. Also, saying that people will "use the Bible as their constitution" still doesn't prove the version of the Bible they are using is perfectly accurate because to me the fact that something is being fulfilled doesn’t mean the transmission process in our case now translation, interpretation, editing hasn’t introduced errors along the way. 2 Likes 1 Share |

MaxIntheHouse2:By “accurate,” I meant: Is this still what the original writer meant? Are we sure the message hasn’t been watered down, misinterpreted, or manipulated? Are we reading what God intended when he inspired the writings or what generations of human hands and councjls have shaped it into? 2 Likes |
