I believe pansophist has done justice to your question. Ignoring is a good way to shit tests but sometimes ignoring is not always the best option.

Shit test are simply test for dominance. For example, you might be playing with a child and that child playfully slaps you. That is a shit test how well you react to that situation determines how dominant you are. Will you ignore the slap?

There are many ways women shit test men.
