Nigeria are allowed to go ahead with their Afcon qualifier against Congo tomorrow but there is the possibility, albeit unlikely, that the Group A game with South Africa could yet be called off.

The new leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, voted in after a sham election last week, have been given until Monday morning at 8am to vacate the federation’s offices and restore to power Aminu Maigari, who has been the subject of two clumsy coup d’etats as the government seek to unseat him.

Otherwise they will be suspended by Fifa and unable to play South Africa.

So what will happen if Nigeria is banned? are we refunded for our already bought tickets?

Fifa is afraid of this Nigerians....why kp postponing the sanctions.

*Double Action* 21 minutes ago

Although part of me wishes Nigeria could be banned in order for Bafana to qualify, I also feel we need the competition. To test ourselves against the best in Africa.
If they do get banned, it will be a shame indeed.

God2man:

why are we discussing this topic?

There is no need. The christian life is battle field, we are all soldiers of the Lord. If you are not violent enough, how can you be a soldier? The Bible says we wrestle,
in wrestling, violence is allowed. Jesus said we should go to our closet to pray, Jesus also said we should be persistent in our prayers, Luke 18:7 And shall God not avenge his own elect who CRY out day and night to him, though he BEARS long with them.

Tell me how do you cry? By speaking silently or by shouting.

Beside, 2 Timothy 1;6 Therefore i remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

Check your dictionary and look for the meaning of STIR.

To stir may not be violent, but it means excite, move, disturb, change, agitate and so on.

So, what is the basis of this discussion?

Have a nice day.

God bless you.
God2man.
we are discussing this topic because so many christian think christianity is bed of roses, where every thing is done without violence.
thank you sir for your contribution,

A factional president of the crisis-riddled Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Chris Giwa, has stated his intention to remain as the Federation's president despite a FIFA letter asking him to step down.

Speaking to reporters in Abuja on Monday afternoon, the newly elected President asked for calm, stating that FIFA was not a biased body and would listen to his faction's side of the story.
He also urged Nigerians to believe in his executive board.

"I want everyone to be calm. I want to tell them not to listen to those people that are trying to bring their personal interest into Nigerian football. We are going to have a new face of football in Nigeria and I'm sure in a few days' time FIFA will speak. FIFA should be an organisation that is not biased, an organisation that will listen to everybody and the right decision would be taken so I have taken that this is the last hurdle by the grace of God. It has already been overcome," he said.

On Friday evening, FIFA wrote a letter signed by its secretary general, Jerome Valcke, to the NFF General Secretary, Musa Amadu, asking Mr. Giwa's board to step down by midnight, September 1, else the Federation would be sanctioned.
However, it was later discovered that Mr. Valcke was on work leave around the time the letter was sent.

Speaking on the authenticity of the letter, Mr. Giwa said he did not care who signed the letter and that FIFA would definitely get its response in due course.

"One thing is I have no reason to doubt the letter. I want to believe it is from FIFA. We have received the letter that asked us to do something and of course, we are going to present our position," he said.

Mr. Giwa also denied reports that the NFF scribe, Mr. Amadu, was not working with his board, after storming out of the congress that elected Mr. Giwa.

Mr. Amadu had told journalists outside the venue of the congress to count him out of the election, saying he had no part in it.
"It's not true that Musa Amadu is not working with my board. I was privileged to talk to him last week and the only thing he said to me was that he was not feeling fine. I asked him why he has not been around in the office, and he said I should work with Bola Oyeyode (Head of International Competition) on whatever that has to do with his office," Mr. Giwa said.

Reacting to the league matches boycott over the weekend, Mr. Giwa said he believed some people were playing politics based on personal interest.
The Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, had boycotted the matches citing the crisis in the NFF. This led to the suspension of the league games.
"Well, I think you will agree with me that this is politics. Some have personal interests and they have brought it into this matter and by the grace of God, we will overcome it," Mr. Giwa said.
The NFF has been riddled with crisis since the end of the Brazil 2014 World Cup. The crisis has given rise to two factions within the Federation, one led by the embattled erstwhile/reigning President, Aminu Maigari and the other by Chris Giwa.

Mr. Maigari was impeached soon after the World Cup. He was reinstated by a faction of the NFF at the urging of FIFA.

Mr. Giwa was elected at a congress held on August 26. His presidency still remains under contention as it has not been approved by FIFA.
The Maigari-led faction has already scheduled an election for September 4 in Abuja.
However, Mr Giwa has said there would not be any election as he would not allow anyone to mess with football statutes.

"No there will never be any election. We will not rest. We will not allow anybody to mess up with the NFF, CAF and FIFA statutes, no matter who the person think he is, where is it on earth that in less than one week. You can organise an election when we have a statute, giving us a mandatory period of time and we agreed there would be an election on the 26th of August. No, it will not happen," he said

Sparklesebony:
hope you know the story of paul and salas? How did they prayed,? Were people hearing them as they prayed? did they get a quick answer?

Acts 16:25-26 King James Version (KJV)
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

Dux01: and know this truth no other kind of prayer worries the devil as much as violent prayers
sure bro,
Sparklesebony: One thing I hate about night vigils is d recycling or rephrasing of prayers as if God didn't understand d English or d 1st request.
Another thing, I hate customised prayers e.g: shout my father, my father.
Chorus: My father, my father.
Abeg, who told d prayer leader that that's how i love addressing God? Religion should leave us to know & experience God & ve our personal relationship with Him.
prayer is a burden u wanna let go, so any how it comes let it go bro, that will show how serious u want d burden to be lifted.

Nigeria has many voices and we never have one heart!

the ugly truth is that we have Johardists as fellow Nigerians!
I am sorry, I can't have the same voice or one heart with them!

It is not really that I lost hope in Nigeria, it is that the country was hopeless from the beginning.

hw are you sure that you are nt the one that makes derogatory statement about him??

You read ur Holy book.. And we read ours? Hw is that a crime..??

The problem is that, you think Jesus is meant for christian alone.. Bt No, we muslims believe so much in holy prophets of Allah including the likes of Jesus(A.S), Moses(A.S), Abraham(A.S), Noah(A.S), Mohammad(PBUH) et al..

What muslims believed about Jesus might nt be d same as what other ppl believed.. So you ar nt in d best position to judge which is right or wrong... Afterall, there are still stories of different versions..it is nw left for u to chose the one u ar confortable wit..

If you have lost hope in this nation, let me awaken your consciousness with this, that we are great and you also you are great. is a song less than 2.4mb, this is the lyrics
TIMI DAKOLO's "GREAT NATION" LYRIC

Here we stand as a people
With one song: with one voice
We're a nation: undivided and poised
We will take our stand: and build our land
With faith: to defend what we love

Here we are as a people
With one heart: for one cause
We're determined: to rebuild and restore
Where freedom reigns: and truth prevails
A land where there's hope for us all (2x)

(Chorus)
We're all we have, we'll defend our land
We believe in this nation, and we know we'll get there
We're all we have, we'll defend our land
We believe in Nigeria and the promise she holds
And that one day we'll shine like the sun
We're a great nation

Though we are many people
Different tribes: different tongues
We're united in our strength and resolve
To uphold the honour of our land
And for generations to come

(Chorus)
We're all we have, we'll defend our land
We believe in this nation, and we know we'll get there
We're all we have, we'll defend our land
We believe in Nigeria and the promise she holds
And that one day we'll shine like the sun
We’re a great nation

You can the song here
