Thanks Querylady24. Also called them and have been transferred to Lufthansa. Very furious @ United Lagos customer service who said it wasnt possible with an "i dont care attitude".For all those in similar circumstances, please dont bother with United Lagos customer services, just call the US United customer service directly and get quick resolution.

@Dialinn,
I think wifey flew united about same time in Jan and all was well. Although we had our Doctor's report handy. Only this was checked and port health report was not requested. Wifey wasn't looking heavy or pregnant though. We had a good flight and hostess were nice when I didn't like the food, they offered me more drinks and Juice instead. Plus the entertainment was okay (had some recent movies).
I think you should collect Doctor's report and to be on safe side, collect report also from Port health on that day.
You might also like to use the 2 bags (23 kg) for new born on your return...God help you and have a safe flight.
Thanks Ansol. Appreciate your advice. Welcome back from your trip and greetings to wifey and baby. God bless!

@Ennyo,
I paid the old rate. The lady in Dr. E's office is trying to reachout to those people they gave the old quote. Also, Alice in the Patient department said the new rate is currently on hold. They are using the old rate in the interim.
@Enizo,
I got Oakbend details from the Patient Access department after Dr. E had ed them. Call the number in the OB discount package.
Thanks Sylolo for this info. I've a similar case where the lady in Dr. E's office has already advised me of the old rate. She hasn't reached to me though as you stated in your message. How do you suggest I deal with it?

Congrats ifeoluwakintan and thank God indeed for showing up on your behalf.
As earlier requested, could you please share Dr. E's email address with me via PM? Thanks
ifeoluwakintan:
Blessed Mother's and Father's, the Awesome God we call on at all times may he continue to show up for us in Jesus Christ name, Amen.
Left Lagos via BA and requested for wheel chair service, at BA stand I wasn't asked for fit to fly.
The lady that wheeled me to the depature asked if I was pregnant and I said yes. She asked for my fit to fly and I gave it to her, the next thing she said was I hope you don't give birth in the plane because your are leaving at 35 weeks; I replied immediately, God forbid. I will not birth in the plane.
We got to London and it was all good.
We connected our Flight to Houston after 3 hrs layover.
Before landing in Houston, my mom and i prayed a prayer of agreement and i felt peace immediately.
Got to Houston at 2:15pm.
God of wonders, God that never fails, Awesome redeemer I saluate your majesty.
Was wheeled to CBP. I greeted but no response.
He asked for our ports and I handed it over to him.
He asked me to place my fingers on the scanner and then the picture.
Immediately, he said am sending them back.
I don't know what he saw, I don't know what happen, I was moved forward and he was to scan my mom, then he asked who is bla bla bla... I said I am, he said Oh no! I have made a mistake. He immediately radioed some people and said they should please send a manager to him.
When the manager came, he enquired what the problem was, he said he made a mistake and the manager asked ain't we send them back. He said No, I made a big mistake.
He re-scanned me and stamped me in 6 months, scanned my mom and my daughter and said Sorry about the mistake. Welcome to America.
My fellow mamas, no document was asked, my purpose wasn't even asked, nothing at all.
The devil stuck out his ugly head but God cut it off.
I am presently in my host''s place. Waiting for my appointment tomorrow with Dr. Ezekiel.
Praise be to God.
Hallelujah.

Hi Ansol, could you please send me a PM with Dr. E's email address? Thanks
ansol:
Ok quick update on our journey so far. I travelled with my wife Jan 01, 2016. Before then, my wife's guardian prefer she stays with people where they could offer help and care since she's a first time mum and her first time in U.S. That means we would head to McKinney Texas instead of Houston Ticket we already booked. I didn't change the ticket and we agreed we would enter through Houston and then use bus to Dallas then the host would come pick us. Downtown Dallas is about 30-40mins from McKinney (I guess).
Houston POE was a breeze though wifey spent an hour just waiting to be attended to. They check her correspondence and counted her cash (went with 8k).
Then from houston we used bus to McKinney to Dallas and then host picked us. The Bus was cool mehn. Enjoyed the free WiFi too. About 4hrs 30mins or so.
She eventually got a doctor in McKinney for $2400 and Hospital for $3500. She had normally delivery and welcomed our first baby (boy) on Feb 13, 2016. So far the bill has been ok. No hidden charge. Hospital Paeditrician we paid $268 (should have been 200 but we paid 68 extra for an additional service we requested).
First visit to Paed was $100 and subsequent was $85. Doctor accepted our naija medical record we paid $68 dollars for extra test conducted.
Wifey will start document processing from Monday and should be done in 2-3weeks by my calculation.
We would like to thanks everyone for the info shared here.... God bless you all. Meanwhile I had to call Dr E office and apologise for not coming back to Houston and she gave her blessings. Sent her a mail too cos the office manager was really understanding and nice.
In all sha we are doing fine and counting down to seeing wifey and cute boy soon.
Nb: even though my wife don born... I still read up to date in this thread as if I get UME to write. I don't comment often though but I read all... everyday!

okay guys..wanted to wait to be debited before confirming the Form A stuff.
I intend using Dr La and WHMC. WHMC does not accept wire transfers, so I got Dr La's wire transfer details.
I went to Stanbic IBTC on Thursday for the processing.
Documents required:
a) Letter of reference from specialist doctor, or specialist hospital in Nigeria -
b) Completed Form A
c) port, visa and air ticket
d) Correspondence with overseas specialist doctor stating the cost of treatment etc.
Filled the form; requested for payment of doctors fees only (paid $3,000) and included my doctor's bank details. The requirement doesn't state just hospitals can be credited. It only states that it must be for medical treatment. So, I guess if you can provide your doctors correspondence (with his letterhead) and they can match it to the bank details. I guess they can also check the doctor online if they want.
Got debited the ffg this morning: Transaction: 598500; telex charge: 4000; offshore charge: $25 = 4987.50; Bank commission 0.5% = 3142.13
Total was 610629.6 which came to about N203.5 per $.
So you can actually pay for just doctor or doctor and hospital if your hospital accepts transfers.
Noticed in the CBN requirement page that if the doctor includes cost of maintenance, that cost of treatment can be made payable to the hospital and the cost of maintenance to the applicant if the applicant is an outpatient; but I did not explore that oh. Only paid doctor's bill.
Also, I had initially gone to UBA and they said they dont process Form A for childbirth. GTB said I'll be on a wait list for at least a month. Went to stanbic after @onlineise post on Wednesday, and it got processed in 48hours. Thanks so much @onlineise you are a life saver!
Pls to collect your telex copy from the bank as proof of payment
Hope this helps cc: @biollar1 @chloe7 @kemo88 @beautyx5
Hi, thanks for sharing. Please confirm if your have to be a stanbic ibtc bank holder to benefit from this service?
