The northerners can not be marginalized even if they don't get to power in the next 20years, we have always known the north to be in power and they have actually enriched themselves, and their people with it. So any one or persons that feels that he or she is stil marginalized should hold their leaders responsible. Cause we from other part of Nigeria have served and laboured for this people ( northerners) enough, and still we don't get the honor and respect we deserve . We are also Nigerans, so therefore allow us to be in power too.

GEJ can't bow to this kind of threats. He has done so much for this group to receive all of these at this time.

dedeike: @ pataki, thanks for posting the link to the number of committees set up by this istration in one year. I agree with you that most of those committees are unnecessary. I don't see any reason why the govt should set up a committee for award of scholarships to post graduate students, removing unqualified persons from school, and modalities for university lecturers from having a minim qualification of PHD. I also maintain that both the rationalization committee and the blocking of leakages committee could be fused into one. However, to say that the other committees have not yielded any dividends will be a wrong reading of facts. The truth is that the present govt is interested in transformation. It is this transformation agenda that is driving these reforms. And if you want to achieve genuine reforms, you can't engage the same hands that are currently making things not to work. You must engage people from the private sector, technocrats in various fields, retired public servants who will bring their wealth of experience to bear and independent minded statesmen. That is where the committees come in. Jonathan is a human being so he can't be everywhere at the same time. He can't also entrust such sensitive assignments in the hands of present public officials, who have interest to protect. And somehow, it's working. The committee on ports did a fantastic job by sanitizing the ports. They hve reduced the number of agencies operating in the ports from 17 to 6 . Thereby easing operations at the ports. They hve also ensured that the ports begin 24 hours operations and liaised with the Lagos state Govt to get rid of the trucks that congest the roads leading to the ports. The Oronsanye led committee did a wonderful job to streamline and rationalize agencies in Nigeria. The recommendation that we should have only 35 agencies and parastatals in Nigeria is indeed a welcome development given our history of wastages and leakages due to the duplicity of MDA's. There cannot be automatic implementation of this report as most people think on this forum. The MDA's are a product of the enactment of the National Assembly. They all have laws establishing them so the National Assembly will need to repeal such establishment laws accordingly. The pension fund task force was what blew the lid on the corruption in the police pensions. With it came the massive discovery of over 125 billion scandal. And those indicted are already in court. The committee on oil transperancy led by RIBADU is yielding results and reducing wastages. The committee on airport upgrading is working in liaison with the minister of Aviation to overhaul our airports. It's evident for all to see. In Abuja, the entire domestic wing has been closed for massive reconstruction. Same for Enugu airports. Similar works are ongoing in Benin, Kano. Etc let's learn to criticize constructively with facts.factual |

It is the end of time, so am not surprised at the so called man of god. Even the bible said it, that there will be false prophets at the end of time. I am surprised that people still go to his church, it is so amazing. What has a man of God got to do with politics, has he finished spreading the good news, that he was sent to do. When a manor God, hands with those that will go at any length to see innocent blood been shed, you should know that evil is on the rampage. May God save us from this people oooo |

If our president can kneel to call on God, why can't we learn from this and tell God our problems in this country rather to pull the man down and spoil his name.

uzobiz: :-XWe are seriously watching. Keeping our fingers crossed. We are seriously watching. Keeping our fingers crossed. We are seriously watching. Keeping our fingers crossed.you will keep crossing your fingers while the revolution in the power sector continues moving. I knew it quite well that these reforms will yield fruits gradually. But like I said, it's just a matter of time. The job of addressing all the major challenges in our power sector cannot be done overnight. The sector is divided into three- generation, distribution and transmission. This govt has in less than 1 year started work on all 3 fronts. For generation, they revived NIPP and has been able to generate 4000 megawatts thru Utorogu,Alaoji, etc. they hve also finished work on Mambilla and Zungeru. For distribution, private sector companies are encouraged to come in and invest General electric has signed BPTA alongside Siemens and after the presidents trip to Brasil, Electrobus. In order to encourage all of them, govt increased tariffs so that it will be attractive for other oil companies to invest. now SPDC has come in barely a month after the introduction of the new tariffs . GOOD THINKING. GOOD PRODUCT |

Another feeble attempt to take merit away from the presidents speech. Why are haters resorting to lies against the president? What did this man do them? Isn't this the same chat I watched and enjoyed? Or are they referring to something different. I heard the president say loudly that he had earlier instructed Aganga to invite international auditors to investigate NNPC. What is a lie about it? You guys should leave Jonathan Jooor!

Anyone that really listened to the presidential speech and has a negative comment about it should be checked. For Christ sake, he was asked questions by the journalists present and he gave his answers touching every part of the economy. The media chat was worth it,and has c,eared so many doubts.

Please can someone tell me the issues with the above outlines sentences, this is a man that every Nigerian calls when they wake up and before they sleep under the space of 1year, people now prefer to be enemies of the government than friends. He is from Niger delta and the oil producing regions, so he must be given the chance to make a change. When Alhaji Adegbite made it clear in his that they should allow him talk to his brothers, on the current crisis going on, nobody understood or read meaning to the statement, because GEJ made a speech, everyone is interested and ready to swallow him up. We should learn to forget politics of bitterness and embrace this government cause it has come to stay. If you no like am go hug transformer and die.......GEJ is working.

Mr. President journey to brazil is a meaningful one, and can not be cancelled because some miscreants wish to use it against him to distabilize the nation and the government.A government should not stop one day for any reason,in other not to allow miscreants hijack the government or rejoice on the failure of the government. What would immigrants and investors think if our president can't even move from his own country to other countries due to the fear of getting bombed. We all need to understand what Boko Harram and their sponsors are heading for and we should all stand up against them.

The president is trying to make so many issues clear to nigerians, so we should pay attention and not come after and start blabbing on NL on issues you don't know about, atleast from the way he is talking we should know that this man has put all hands on deck to address every issue both small and mighty.he means well for nigeria, and should be seen as so.

ndu_chucks: Hopefully, Dasuki can help negotiate for the disarmament of BH. Negotiations need to begin immediately with the condition that BH declares an immediate cease fire. What sort of useless negotiation are you talking about? How can human beings negotiate with animals, I hope you are not one of them? If you are God is watching you and your end is near. |

It's either some people are on drugs on this site or they are retarded, how can a man that cried on the media that he will never contest any election in this country and during every election he would still contest and feel that Nigerians are stupid to vote him in, unless he rules his wicked sect(boko haram) not the good people of Nigeria. This man goes about creating chaos, and blowing up places with the help of his brain washed followers, killing innocent Nigerians. By the name of the God I serve, he shall never smell any public position in this country and his generation and followers shall never know peace, including the ignorant fool that has this post on. Instead of Buhari to rule me, I prefer Ibori to come out of jail and rule this country.

We Nigerians should try and evaluate situations and topics properly before commenting. What is the job of a governor of a state, the commissioner of police,IG of police and other authorities concerned directly to these state and chaos? Are you expecting GEJ to change to a military uniform and enter the streets of kaduna or Yola to stop the bombing. People have been delegated for these jobs, they should all be held able for all these trash. It's now a new trend in Nigeria that whenever mosquitoes bite anyone, GEJ is held responsible for it, this man is mortal and a Nigerian like any of us out here. He can't be a magician to make things work at any his own time, he has appointed ministers and governors are elected in each state and we still call this mans' name, am sure the enemies of this istration would even complain even if Obama comes to rule us. Mallam Elrufai in his right senses tweeted that GEJ, blows off places when ever they are new government policies and I began to wonder how a grown man could actually open his mouth and say that, jus cause he was not given the chance to serve in this istration. Please, Nigerians lets try to criticize constructively. If you think you can do better,go back to your village and contest for a village chairman or head and see how it goes. God bless Nigeria. 12 Likes |

alj harem: GEJ has the right to contest for a second term,if it was an open contest it would have been a different ball game, the occupier of the office in this case has not exhausted his right to contest for a second term,so talking about the taking up arms if they are not given the presidency, from a supposed' Elder Statesman' who's fully aware of the security situation in the North,to me smacks of Treason and it's capable of causing more unrest in that region of country.Elder statesmen should learn how to make public utterances because they have people who look up to them, the statement should be roundly condemned no matter who or where it's coming from. |
