I back in the late 80s and early 90s when as a kid in Festac Town, Eyo Festival was done and it was a sight to behold. The festival for almost three decades have stopped at festac. I think it only holds at Lagos Island. Such a beautiful rare event.

If the film portrays Eyo Festival as bad, then the movie should be banned. That's a sacrilege to a culture people practice.

If there is a caveat telling viewers that all characters, places, names, cultures and traditions are imaginary and any coincidence are not real, then no issue. All great movies in the world are always portrays so for entertainment reasons.

Great movies in the world abound with diversity. From Historical movies to criminal movies, scientific expeditions to futuristic movies, from religious movies to sociopolitical movies, from sports to academic movies, from real life movies to fictitious movies, from security movies to Alien movies, from Earth movies to Astro terrestrial movies.

Though, what make a good movie in some perspective is the criticism that herald such films. The criticism about the movie will only make it more popular.

My opinion!!! You don’t need to like or agree. Else, hug a transformer!!!

Interesting. Generally speaking, it's a really good movie. I had my reservations though. It portrayed the Eyo in a very bad light. The Eyo are very revered in the culture of Lagos state. To show a murder carried out with the Eyo regalia on is very wrong. I don't think any the Igbos would be very welcoming if Mmanwus were portrayed as being used to assainate neither will the people from Cross River take lightly the Ekpe being used for the same.

It's a really great movie with superb acting and directing but respect needs to be paid to people's culture before you tarnish the image. People come from all over the world for the Eyo festival. Whats the point in changing their point of view? Lagos is already scary for any foreigner...no need to bastardize one of the few cultural tourist attractions we have.

Please shut your piehole...or should I say eba&vegetablehole

As an Igbo man, I care less if Mmanwus were used in any form for movie, even my name, my surname name or my village so far there was caveat warning that all characters, names, places, etc in the movie are just imaginary, not real, and that any coincidence are not real.
FILM na FILM.

I doubt the OP really listened to the question asked and her responses. Perhaps, OP is beclouded by the same parochial antagonism that has held us down as the purported pride of a Blackman.

God give us brain to think and reason. Not anus to think and reason with.

What is SON doing about the sub-standard iron rods manufactured in the country by these Indian, Chinese, etc companies. 16mm rod is like split rod of 14mm, as so on with others.
anyilalaz: 9:02pm On Apr 07, 2023
Government agencies, ministries and parastatal saddled with the responsibilities of ensuring standards of quality building and construction materials has failed the nation.

Recently, I was at steel market to purchase some iron rods. What I saw as 16mm was like haif split of 14mm, and so on.

Funny enough, most companies manufacturing iron rods are own by Indians, Chinese, Lebanese.

Until these companies begin to face serious legal and financial penalties when a collapse building materials from they company were verified by experts as the root cause of such a disaster.

Come to think of it. Why Do Nigeria not have a standard that various sphere of our national lives must adhere to like in US, India, UK. Nigeria can even localized some of these standards like ASME, ANSI, IEEE, BSI, BIS, etc

RIP to the dead, quick recovery to the injured until another disaster happens again.

Let Quickteller reach out to your hubby bank. Do this with all details attached via email, copy the banks involve, [email protected]., then wait like 5-7days and you will see your alert confirm.

That was all I did in my own case.

This is when common sense is not common.

The environment where the exam is to hold do not allow a particular dress mode - They are right!

A candidate believes that it’s her fundamental right to dress the way she wants - She is right!

Common sense is needed here....from the pic the OP posted what am seeing not Hijab but Chador. For exam purpose, if am the said girl, I might come with either of Hijab or Dupatta from home, at the gate, remove it and cover my hair with scarf. After the exam go back to what I came with. The exam is not up to 2hrs.

However, niqab, Burka, or Chador dress mode is a no no for any venue to prevent malpractice and story that touch!!!

Personally, I will object to be counted. My family and everyone under my roof.

Last week Lagos state Tax agency sent me a mail about my annual PAYE tax returns for 2022 with respect E-TAX. I insulted them about they high level of insensitivity few days after the March 18 election, were state actors and personalities threatened my tribe, kith and kin because we want to exercise our constitutional right of voting our choice..

I stand with the OP!!!

By the time we arrive here, these technologies would have been obsolete. You can then imagine the milestones these guys would have covered.

The first commercial steam engine was invented in 1712. But here we can't even measure to their feet as at that time now.

The drainage is very poor, can't withstand the minimum volume of surface washoff or flooding in the area. Even the surface 'asphalting' technically is as thin as razor blade. Can't withstand the traffic. If am in doubt, screen shot this statement and check back after two rainy seasons. Mediocre leaders everywhere. As a growing up lad along the old Nsk to Ezika road in years back, we had roads that stood for more than 30yrs before we started witnessing celebrated nonsense as road construction.

Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kayode Ariwoola disguises on wheelchair in London hotel for secret meeting with Bola Tinubu

Chief Justice Olukayode Ariwoola has been sighted in London pretending to be a physically-challenged old man, Peoples Gazette learnt today, in what Supreme Court sources said was a clandestine preparation for a meeting with President-elect Bola Tinubu.

Mr Ariwoola’s movement was exposed to The Gazette as Mr Tinubu was arriving in London for what his team claimed was a relaxation trip after a hectic campaign that preceded his declaration as Nigeria’s president-elect last month. But Mr Tinubu kept his trip to London secret until it was exposed on Wednesday afternoon by Sahara Reporters, which said the trip was a medical emergency.

The Gazette learnt that Mr Ariwoola departed Nigeria on March 11 via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. He was pushed in a wheelchair through the terminals to board a British Airways flight, our sources said.

Upon arrival in London, Mr Ariwoola, 64, was also wheeled into a hotel downtown, where he has remained ever since. But immediately after checking into the hotel, Mr Ariwoola abandoned his wheelchair and started moving around the facility unaided. The Supreme Court head is not known with any physical disabilities.

“He has been moving about in the hotel without any wheelchair,” a source familiar with the CJN’s activities at the London accommodation told The Gazette. “He was standing on his own in the elevator just yesterday.”

The Gazette learnt that Mr Ariwoola repeatedly picked up food ordered via delivery services at a mid-level lobby, including Uber Eats and Deliveroo. It was unclear whether or not he placed the orders by himself or how he paid.

With Mr Tinubu now in Europe, he would be meeting Mr Ariwoola in a secret arrangement to discuss issues unknown to Nigerians, our sources said.

“The CJN deliberately left the country more than a week ahead of Tinubu to avoid any suspicion about why both of them disappeared at once,” a source familiar said. “That is why he travelled secretly and Tinubu also travelled secretly.”

They thought that they could secretly move the president-elect abroad without anybody knowing about it,” a source said. “That’s one of the several mistakes they made on this matter, asides from the belief that they could allow the Chief Justice of Nigeria to move about in a London hotel for several days undetected after going through the trouble of disguising him in a wheelchair.”

The Gazette has temporarily withheld the CJN’s photos and the specific hotel he stayed in to protect a source central to this story.

A Supreme Court source said Mr Ariwoola wanted to meet Mr Tinubu to discuss issues that may arise from the budding legal challenge to the declaration as president-elect, including whether or not he should be worried about the petitions recently filed by opposition parties.

“The CJN would either assure Tinubu of victory in court or tell him that he should be worried about the dimension the petitions may take through the court stages,” the source said under anonymity to avoid facing istrative action for divulging privileged information to reporters. “But we may never know what they actually discussed after their secret meeting.”

“I am reluctant to start thinking about the of their meeting right now,” the source added. “But any fair-minded person will easily it that both of them meeting in a foreign corner to discuss something that Nigerians will not know about is highly suspicious and should be unwarranted.”

Everything is all about saving face and damage control. All the rebuttal happened because the whole scheme was busted. Though, they were clandestine arrangement for CJN boss and president elect to meet, perhaps to influence or preempt the court proceedings!

Deliberate mischievous oversight and poor and fear induced journalism. It didn't elude anyone, but when you have Peter Obi on the ballot who want to ask or hear anything about the rest? No fact checking for any of the rest.

How will the scenario play out if the reverse is the case?

Do you know that Tinubu's name is mentioned in the Pandora and Panama Papers?

I have been quiet and seeing these people talk about these issues but the thing is, while Peter Obi has investments mentioned there, Tinubu is mentioned there for that and even many more like fraudulently buying and owning properties with government money.

Go read the papers. Tinubu is the actual biggest criminal in Nigeria today, nobody comes close. I will write about that soon.

I wonder how this story elude the Nigerian press.!?

This is the type of commotion and disturbance we want our guys/citizens to be causing through their talents in foreign land, not the disgraceful arrests for drug.

It pains the racial Germans that a nigga with a dark color could use his dark talent to stop their team.

I was not happy that the penalty shot was not goven to him.
