Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.
One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.
Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party
National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.
During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”.
He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer.
His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.
“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly.
“If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.
“I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”.
Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

National Security adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has said that Nigeria has recorded over 90 percent improvement in insecurity under President Bola Tinubu istration.
Mr Ribadu stated this in Jos, Plateau State while briefing the press shortly after a meeting with the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Folusho Oyinlola at his office, following a gunmen attack on Bokkos community that left hundreds of residents killed.
According to him, President Tinubu istration will not relent in its efforts at ensuring peace and security in the country.
“In the last 1-year-ten-months, violent deaths have been reduced probably by over 90 percent in our country. We have the statistics, in 2022 and 2023 those who lost their lives as a result of extreme violence in the country has reduced,” Mr Ribadu disclosed.
The NSA stressed that a lot of bad people have been arrested and are undergoing investigations. “I can assure you that justice will be done, those who are found responsible will be prosecuted, we are doing it across the country.
“This Government has prosecuted close to 2,000 terrorists and we have got many convictions; we will not relent, we are serious, we are honest about what we are doing, we will do it to the best of our ability,” he said.
The NSA further commended the armed forces and other security forces in maintaining peace, restoring order quickly, and acting instantly in averting a major crisis in the state.

Anambra Governor elect, Willie Obiano, said on Tuesday in Abuja that his istration would ensure that crime, kidnapping in particular, was a thing of the past.
Mr. Obiano spoke to State House correspondents after a delegation from the state met with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa.
“Kidnapping is very critical for us and under my watch kidnapping will be a thing of the past.
“First, as soon as I am sworn-in, there is going to be a security conference where all the stakeholders in Anambra will come from near and beyond.
“We are going to do a lot of things that the present istration has started,” he said.
Mr. Obiano said he would deploy vigilante groups, equip and train them appropriately to tackle kidnapping.
“We will also place emphasis on youth employment because where most of the youths are employed then the rascal few will be easily policeable,” he said.

Nigeria was built on a faulty foundation from the beginning. That's why everyone goes to power to grab whatever they can and leave. In such a situation, there can never be love. This can't happen in south africa or Morocco. The leader will cut short his trip and run back home to tackle the issues bedeviling his people that he's leading.
As usual, they don't care. Sadly people keep voting them into power out of bigotry. Tinubu shouldn't have even been allowed to near that place, given his antecedents but they overlooked all that. Amazingly, Tinubu's lackadaisical attitude on the affairs of the nation isn't because the affected tribes aren't yoruba. In Ondo State, fulani kills for fun on a regular basis . Recently, the people of Ondo took the bodies of their men killed by fulani terrorist nicknamed herdsmen to the office of the governor to dump, in protest. I'm sure they gulliblly voted same Tinubu who said he'd tackle insecurity in the land. Talk is cheap.
His APC followers must have been excited when he talked about team-ship in London, instead of realising how empty and clueless he is about governance, which can't be replaced by chochocho sweet talks.

Former Head of State and Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (C), Major General Muhammadu Buhari has faulted the federal government’s clampdown on Boko Haram Islamic insurgents. He accused the government of killing and destroying their houses while the Niger Delta militants were given special treatment by the government.
Buhari who first spoke in Hausa before the English version accused politicians from the Niger Delta region of starting the current in security in the country by recruiting and arming youths of the region in their desperate attempt to retain power as governors.
The former Nigerian leader said that unlike the special treatment given to the Niger Delta militants by the federal government, the Boko Haram were being killed and their houses demolished by government.
While accusing President Jonathan of failing from the beginning to address the security situation in the country, Buhari said he has never been in of the state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa state.
“How did Boko Haram start? We know that their leader, Mohammed Yusuf started his militant and the police couldn’t control them and the army was invited. He was arrested by soldiers and handed over to the police.
“The appropriate thing to do, according to the law, was for the police to carry out investigations and charge him to court for prosecution, but they killed him, his in-law was killed, they went and demolished their houses.
“Because of that, his ers resorted to what they are doing today. You see in the case of the Niger Delta militants, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua sent an aeroplane to bring them, he sat down with them and discussed with them, they were cajoled, and they were given money and granted amnesty.
“They were trained in some skills and were given employment, but the ones in the north were being killed and their houses were being demolished. They are different issues, what brought this? It is injustice”.

Although the pump price of fuel was N197 when President Bola Tinubu took over on May 29, 2023, the product now sells for N617 per litre – less than two months after.
In his inaugural address, Tinubu announced that subsidy was gone, fulfilling a promise that all leading presidential candidates made during the campaign.
However, pump price of fuel hit N537 per litre days after Tinubu ended subsidy.
On Tuesday, the price climbed further to N617, a development that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) attributed to “market forces”.
Nigerians have been lamenting the hardship occasioned by fuel price hike. Amid the lamentation, a video where Tinubu campaigned to slash the price of fuel went into circulation.
Checks by Daily Trust affirmed the authenticity of the video ed on the YouTube page of Channels Television.
At his campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on January 25, 2023, Tinubu spoke on a number of issues, but those of fuel scarcity and naira redesign made the headlines.
However, Tinubu who spoke in Yoruba language, also assured the crowd that though people were saying petrol price would hit N200, it would be reviewed downward under him.
“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200 per litre. Go and relax, we will bring it down,” he had said in the 7th minute of the video.
King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, a Fuji musician who performed at the rally, interrupted the president’s speech with chants as the crowd cheered.
On the campaign podium with the president were Vice-President Kashim Shettima; Pa Bisi Akande, interim National Chairman of the APC; Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President; Senator Gbenga Daniel; among other bigwigs of the ruling party.
Tinubu went further to say Nigerians would defy the acute fuel scarcity at the time and trek to cast their votes.
“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200/N500 per litre. Go and relax, we will crash the prices,” he had said.
Is this not a great opportunity for ebilokan to crash petrol price below what it was in January 2023?

Oil slump: Bring down fuel price immediately, Fashola tells FG ON DECEMBER 7, 2014
Lagos—As the global oil prices slid further downward, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, asked the Federal Government to review downward the pump prices of Motor Spirit, PMS, from N97 per litre in the country in tandem with the slump in world oil price. President Jonathan and Gov Babatubde Fashola of Lagos The Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, had last Friday, on its website pegged the oil price at $66.27 per barrel.
Fashola who blasted FG for its reluctance to adjust the pump price of PMS, made the remarks while addressing hundreds of youths at the Lagos State and After School Graduation Development Centre, AGDC, IGNITE Employability Project 5, Ikeja. He lamented that Nigerians were not receiving fair treatment from the central government like others in oil producing nation. Fashola said, “Now we should be enjoying cheap fuel if the price of oil has dropped globally. Even as we import the product, a major component has reduced in price and while this has reduced, the pump price of fuel in the country still remains the same. “Then something is wrong. If the price increases in the country when the price of oil goes up globally, then it should also reduce when the price of oil drops. “I understand that I am not an economist; they (Federal Government) are the economists. But I have some logic and common sense to ask critical questions. For instance, if one buy flour at N10 per kilogram, and the bread was sold at N1 per loaf. If the price of flour drops, the price of the bread should also change,” Fashola added.
The governor, therefore, urged President Goodluck Jonathan led istration to follow the footstep of other countries that have reduced the pump price of oil products for their citizens. Fashola noted that the oil sector of the country had not been improved to address challenges confronting the nation especially unemployment, saying “The economy is not doing well. Some of you (audience) are compelled to try to survive through whatever means.”

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has said the state will meet the demand of potable water supply to the residents by 2020. The governor gave the assurance on Tuesday after inspecting the ongoing construction in the Adiyan waterworks. He said the project was designed to put an end to scarcity of potable water supply to the residents. The governor, who also inaugurated an 18 classroom block at Sonmori Senior Comprehensive High School, College Road, Ifako Ijaiye and First African Primary School, Iju–Ishaga, said the All Progressives Congress would continue to provide dividends of democracy to the people.
Fashola said, “The construction work in the Adiyan waterworks phase II is in top gear. The contractor has shown that his men could work at night and hopefully, this will speed up the construction of the waterworks. “This is the third major waterworks in the state. The first was the Iju waterworks which was built in 1910. There was no major intervention in the state until 1991 when Adiyan waterworks phase I was constructed. That was a long time and the population continued to grow in the state. “This is direct government funding. The long term plan is that we will need more of this to be able to hit the water demands of the residents of the state. The plan is that by 2020, we should be able to meet the plan of the citizens of the state.”
The governor explained that provision of water alone was never the answer to water scarcity, but the conservation of water. He said, “Like all utilities, one can never oversupply. So, to have adequate supply, it requires minimisation of waste and water conservation. “Work on the Ifako-Ijaiye mini stadium is ongoing and it will be completed on time. It is a commitment I made to them and I assured them that I will deliver it. And hopefully, we will finish it before 2015.”

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s first supplementary budget includes a fleet of SUVs for himself and his wife, a presidential yacht and the renovation of his villa amid a cost-of-living crisis for some of the poorest people in the world.
The proposal — which seeks additional funding beyond the annual budget approved by Tinubu’s predecessor — comes as the government asks Nigerians to persevere through pain caused in part by a raft of economic reforms ushered in by the new president. Africa’s most populous country faces rampant unemployment, soaring food prices and a plummeting currency.
Federal lawmakers approved the president’s request for extra spending on Thursday, but eliminated the provision of 5 billion naira ($6.01 million) to buy a presidential yacht. Instead, they doubled the allocation to a student loan fund to 10 billion naira, according Abubakar Bichi, chairman of an appropriations committee in the House of Representatives.
The lawmakers approved 1.5 billion-naira proposed to purchase SUVs for the office of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu — an amount larger than that allocated to many individual federal colleges. The supplementary budget also proposes almost 6 billion naira to purchase SUVs for the presidency — more than the amount initially allocated to fund a student loan program for poor families.

What a sad time in history. Did Seyi ask same question as a Governor of Oyo state? Definitely not, but he wants to apply same to Nigeria.
What has he exceptionally done for the people of Oyo state? If the statement he made was his blueprint as a governor, Oyo people would have had his name tattooed on their foreheads.
People just say whatever will sell at the moment forgetting history can never be erased.
What do they want, are they happy!
Seyi should seek forgiveness from God.
If Makinde is to seek forgiveness from God after recruiting almost 20,000 teachers in six years to improve free education access in Oyo state, then what will terrible T-Pain seek for failing in 26 years to do anything similar despite claiming to be Awolowo's type of progressive politician?
The Awolowo rebirth in the Southwest has inspired gongs, songs and rhetoric of sorts. But they have missed one point.
It occurred to me in Abeokuta last week amidst the big crowds and euphoria of the swearing-in of Senator Ibikunle Amosun as governor. In all the states from Lagos to Edo, where Awo has witnessed ideological resurgence, hardly a single family member has played a role.
So we have an Awo family without an Awo. That is an irony. But history overwhelms us with this sort of twist. Obafemi Awolowo toiled for his reputation. His roots were lowly, he toiled to school both home and abroad, launched into careers in law, business, journalism and eventually politics. He carved a niche for himself, and became the first methodical and charismatic leftist in our history. Other leftists abounded but they did not inspire comparable drama and following.
He faced tribulations, went to jail, failed in elections, won a few, but he imprinted his ideas and legacy in the country, and no single mortal has beaten him in the history of this country. His greatest achievement was in the area of ideas, and that was how he fashioned a family. Most families are born of biology but his issued from ideology. That family suffered with him.
In a spoof of Jesus Christ, these were the men who followed him in his teachings, and endured with him in his temptations. So he formed a kingdom for them in the Southwest, in the old Western Region, presiding over his projects, his legacies and people.
In all of these, the family he had was not his flesh and blood. In another spoof of Christ, who were his family anyway? Those who were with him must be counted as his family. So, I combed in the ambience of Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), and I found none. I went to Ogun, I frisked the crowd under Amosun’s bower, hardly any. Around Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in Osun, I could not lay a finger. With Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti, where are the forbears of Awo? Yet, I can hear the chants of Awo. Hardly in any of the inaugural speeches or any of their other public intervention would you miss the philtre and filter of Awo from these gentlemen. To parody Novelist Joseph Conrad, they are the sparks from Awo’s sacred fire, the messengers of the might within the man.
Already all of them are pursuing the legacy ideas of Awo: free education, free health services, infrastructural development, urban renewal and economic engineering.
Lagos has posted itself as the John the Baptist. The others are putting up valiant efforts, and the world of course is watching to see how well they will perform. It will call for great work, resourcefulness and cooperation. They are the real Awoists, and Awo was a man of rigour and vigour.
The Awo son that many expected to take after the father was Olusegun, who unfortunately died in a car crash. We shall never know if he could have pulled it off. But the others have not shown much of the paterfamilias’ brio and depth. In the past decade, under this republic, they have blended with the wrong crowd. Even H.I.D, hobnobbed with Alao-Akala, who brought illiteracy to governance; with Oyinlola who turned the grace of office into a hell-hole of despots; with Daniel who could not arrest his quick fall into megalomania.
I wrote once that this woman whom Awo once described as the jewel of inestimable value has lost value to his cause. If he came back to life, he would have committed the extraordinary act of divorce after death. Even his newspaper, The Tribune, has so stumbled and fallen that it swims in Awo’s vomit.

Where did you see Abdusalami looted? How did I miss this
Which one of our leaders looters since 1960 did not steal our money?
Name just one, whether at the local, state or federal level in the legislative or executive branch irrespective of being a military dictator or civilian official.
If we have not been allowing thieves to be in various public offices, then why are we poorer COLLECTIVELY and deprived of basic services and utilities more than when oyinbos ruled us, such that we are all running back to their countries, effectively asking to be recolonised

In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;
or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.
Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

That's a dumb ass low IQ idiot. Working for free and not knowing it.
Wicked ologogoro Wike earned his medal from terrible T-Pain by making his ebilokan journey easier.
anonimi: 2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury
That’s why I concluded that religious people are the biggest hypocrites on earth
Remove religion and see people’s true color
Did you refuse to bang her because you simply know it’s wrong or because you feel you are committing a sin against God and there are eyes watching you
I am not a pastor, I hate religion and I don’t believe in the Bible nonsense and yet, I will never touch another’ man’s wife, it’s just the right thing to do… so stop this holy than thou, temptation bullcrap… no devil is tempting you
Why did you leave out the biggest issue of the RISK of being found out by someone else or the woman SPILLING the truth for whatever reason later on?

Put all your biases aside and consider this with an open mind. This man is only a member of the Ekiti State Board of Environmental Protection Agency He saw a small problem and decided to provide a solution. If everyone like him in Nigeria provided small practical solutions, don't you think Nigeria would be a better place?
Some people's mobile phones are their source of survival. The only issue I have with it is that he should have done it quietly and without any fanfare
If you have an open mind, then you should be ashamed of yourself and the useless Ekiti official who you are labouring in vain to justify.
Why has your man and his fellow APC Ekiti progressives failed to employ teachers and other workers to make education free for all children in addition to healthcare workers to make everyone access free basic healthcare and other things done by Ajasin in four years before Buhari overthrew him and locked him up for corruption.
Your clueless olodo wore Awolowo cap for his poster, right
The Awolowo rebirth in the Southwest has inspired gongs, songs and rhetoric of sorts.

2019 : I Weep For Abians By Wisdom Nwedene (Must Read)
Written by Wisdom Nwedene
Yesterday, pictures of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu branded Tanker distributing free kerosene to people at Umunkpeyi and other locations circulated the social media space.
Many people were seen struggling to get the free kerosene from the tanker.
I was shocked and wept bitterly when I saw the pictures because this is no longer the Abia State I know before.
From Ikpeazu's moves by sharing free kerosene and money to Abians few days to Governorship election, it is crystal clear that he is aware that he has failed the people who entrusted him with power.
I also heard that Ikpeazu said that the dark days are over for the civil servants in Abia State and donated 10 million naira to them.
My question to the civil servants is, will Ikpeazu 10 million naira solve the pains and problems you have been through in the last three and half years?
Let me quickly recall that in the last three and half years, almost all the civil servants in every sector protested over non payments of their salaries.
Let me do flashback, in 2018, the staff of Abia State owned University teaching hospital, Aba protested and cursed Ikpeazu over non-payment of their 9months salary.
The demonstration was staged Inside the premises of the hospital.
Also, in of infrastructure, Ikpeazu has not done well.
Let me also draw your mind to the Osisoma Flyover being constructed by Ikpeazu for over three years now.
Despite his promise that the flyover will be completed in January 2019, the truth is that the project has been abandoned.
When it comes to good road, hospital, empowering the farmers, Ikpeazu has not delivered also.
I don't know any reason a true Abia State born should want Ikpeazu to return to the Government House when he has failed to deliver half of the promises he made in 2015.
If you come to Ebonyi State, you will see what Umahi did in of infrastructure . He built many flyovers, good roads and empowered farmers. That's what I expected Ikpeazu to do.
Let me make it clear that I'm not from Abia State and didn't receive a dime to pen down this article but as a journalist, I know it is imperative to speak against evils, injustice, hunger, etc when I see them.
Did you get your own daily bread palliative yet for today?
That should at least solve the hunger problem for your lazy youth soul.

A large crowd of Lagosians was filmed in a long queue struggling to collect a loaf of bread. To maintain order, several military personnel were on the ground to control the crowd. This has triggered a lot of reactions online.
