It's under license, Denel cashes in nevertheless. They could be using some Denel subcontractors to supply them with components.

Private Nigerian company rescue AW-139 helicopter

We now post private helicopters? If we do, we are about to knock down this thread with private helicopters from South Africa, even my own pastor has a fleet of them grin

I'm watching the Dark Tower by Idris Elba, in the movie is a parallel planet to earth with very interesting landscapes... It turns out that parallel planet is South Africa... Hehe,

The slight difference is that guns and bullets are very rare... interesting grin

that's Is a useless unsustainable law. You have a large swat of uninhabited land enough for insurgents to plan and prime their attack and you even have a law to prevent the only people that can neutralize them. Why didn't you guys create elite units within your local Armed Forces like its done in Nigeria e.g police ctu trained by special forces. Or is the law completely against the operation of elite units within your soil?

Dude, isn't that what the Special Task Force is?
ActivateKruger: 11:56am On Sep 13, 2017
overhypedsteve:
so how is it that your special forces guys are of the anti poaching task force.

As jln115 says it's part of border patrol because Kruger Park borders two countries, also the fact that the poachers are crossing with weapons into our territory is something worth taking military actions for.
ActivateKruger: 10:32am On Sep 13, 2017
overhypedsteve:
isn't that what task force are meant for? So special forces cannot be part of t Task Forces for internal security operations? That's messed up.

The military cannot be solely deployed inside South Africa unless it's border patrol... When deployed it's to assist existing security agencies like the Police or the Hawks (that's a worst case scenario). The military is no longer allowed to even search civilians unless it's on the border.

So what if terrorists pull a Kenyan mall stunt in South Africa, what will happen then? On provision the intelligence failed to pick that before it happens then the STF will be moved into assault position, the NIU and TRT will be available for backup while maybe the military regulars secure the mall outside. The Special Forces won't be seen anywhere during the event.

Well outside Africa, GSG9, GIGN, GIS, EKO Cobra and several other LE PTU's across Europe are qualified for free falling and have divers etc..

The key words here is "ALL ". Those units have some of its as specialised jumpers, with the STF all of its including their dogs are jumpers.

You have always been apologetic to our South African friends on this thread. You massage their ego like your life depends on it. You're so unpatriotic sometimes I even wonder what drives you to do such. In case you don't know you're the direct opposite of Covert1 in this thread. By the way, WTF do you mean by "you are not the only mad man in this thread" or what fukkery did you even typed up there ?
While I never subscribe to Covert1 incessant boasting of ineffective and nonexistent Nigeria Military prowess, I find it puzzling your anti Nigeria stance.
Undoubtedly, SA army, navy and air force are better equipped than us. They have all the cool military toys we need. But they are sister and allied country of Nigeria and invasion only exist in the weirdest dreams of some weirdo.
However, fact is Nigeria Army is no sissy either. They will any potential invader, no matter how sophisticated, a run for their money. Fact!

Mmmh

I know this is not directed to me. However I find this post rather obsured.

So if someone doesn't agree on something he's then labeled less patriotic? Sympathetic to the opposing country? How many times did I personally went the opposite direction against guys like MikeCZA and 61mech on SA defence issues? How many times do I tell jln115 to ignore certain posts and ssaengine doing the same to me..... Just because he's not blowing Henry240's and Covert1's horns it doesn't make him less patriotic, it simply means he sees through the light cover some people hide behind in the name of patriotism.

The Navy currently is arguably the largest Navy in Africa with over 200 platforms ranging from agile brown water assets to sophisticated blue water naval patrol capabilities. Very importantly The Nigerian Navy has a large pool of highly trained and skilled officers and men for it's Naval operations.

This guy.. The Gulf of Guinea is 2,350,000 km2, there's no ship radar that can scan that much area.

And the NN invested another 8.5 million dollars for armaments and sensors emplacements to its own specification and classified it a frigate. In Africa today it is larger than the flagship of many countries and has the longest range of any ship on the continent at 9,600 nautical miles translated at 17,800km at 20 knots. It has an onboard R-MACK system which can detect and track all vessels in the Gulf of Guinea.

You spent $8.5mil just to fit a 76mm gun?

Odunayaw is right. When you make a categorical statement, defend it with proof that covers other units the world over, or don't make silly statements to begin with. better yet rephrase your comment and this is all over. That's why we've had so many arguments on here in the past, when people call something the best in Africa etc. Now enjoy your Sunday fellas. grin grin grin

No police force has all its as qualified jumpers, it's exclusively to the STF so that's one of the unmatched training.

Throwback: G5 in a C-130 to Namibia in 1987.

It is worth noting that no one (Soviets, PLAN, FAPLA, MK and Cubans) knew about its existence until the first shells fell on them.

Also worth noting that the Recce spotters were providing target coordinates behind enemy lines which frustrated the Cuban alliance because they knew the Recces were there but couldn't find them for days in an open grassveld.

The Oryx is exclusively for the SAAF. The production stopped in the 80s, it was publicly unveiled the same time we announced our nuclear warheads.

Guess what? No medium lift helicopter in current production still compares.

Behold, the best medium lift helicopter the world has ever seen.
