This map and election results paint a very polarized country. The next president has a lot work to do not just on the economic front.
The winner take all Democracy is so bad when results like this happen. The 50.1% winner take all the executives while 49.9% voice of the country is discarded.

He might still faint when the official result is out.
He might be the Captain of the 23rd kalenjini mechanized arrows and spears brigade when the final results is out.
If the election continues to be free and fair, Ruto will win.

You are reading that the cost of electricity is higher than diesel and they are praying that cost of electricity will drop... yet you are still saying operating electric trains is cost efficient
Where did they say that the cost of electricity is higher than Diesel. Stop being one minded and read it in free way.
It say this, " While prices of diesel fuel are currently low, many analysts predict that the long-term trend is for those prices to increase. Conversely, prices of electricity are falling with the fast-growing use of renewable energy sources. Even at current prices, with the energy conversion rates mentioned above, it is estimated that it is 50 percent less expensive to power a train by electricity than by diesel."
So is it cheap to power your house by Generator or Electricity?
rvp2018:
LOL? Typical Tanzanian, my friend describe the average TZ as : petty, violent, superstitious, bombastic, jingoistic, anti intellectual and meddler in all affairs. Like MAGUFULI the late.
You clearly said: Kenyan International Student vis TZ international Student - turn out to be Maasai rural kid versus Tanzania elite International school biracial kid - and Kenyan beat him.
Alliance boys get kids nationally from all corners of kenya. Kenya kid is studying Engineering. He is pretty good in STEM. The TZ kid international biracial kid is studying ARTS.
One is rich kid. The other is poor Kenyan kid but thanks to his brains; he is up there;
The only Tanznnian kid who can speak English is in international school
Now bring us the equivalent of public school like Alliance.
The number of ALLIANCE HIGH school kids in Stanford, Yale, Harvard,MIT and all IVY league is STAGGERING. These are mostly rural kids who topped their district and got itted to national school.
In fact before 2005-2010 when we invested locally - Kenya was leading Africa in the number of kids in IVY league. Now Nigeria leads. Unlike say Nigeria or Ghana or such backwater - individual kid ing exams - kenya it a system than ensure all kids score As and end up in the best possible universities.
Wtf are you talking about? Your boy studied at Brookhouse international school in Kenya. He isn't poor that why I compared him with another one from international school in Tanzania, I don't know why you keep talking about alliance school when he clearly said he studied at Brookhouse international school.
rvp2018:
Don't act like a Ghanian. Alliance HAS NEVER been an international school.
Alliance is what we call national school in kenya. These are public schools that it student nationally. Normally they it the top 1 or 2 student in every district after KE (primary exams). It part of national quota - so you'll find a Maasai kid like him or Somali kid - as long as they lead in their district.
Some national schools in Kenya - Alliance Boys, Alliance Girls, Starehe Boys, Kenya High, etc etc.
Then we have provincial schools - they it kids within their province or now county.
Then we have district schools - it within district
Alliance - is normally among top school in Kenya - in KCSE. If you want to find out Kenya education prowess start from Alliance. See Kenya kids wake up at 3 am. 5 am all student are up. Teachers are up teaching by 5 AM!!!!!!!! - all these kids came top in their districts. They kill those SATS like nonsense and go to best universities if they want. Normally mean score is A or A-
International School - those don't follow kenya system - mostly British or American or International curriculum - Brookhouse, ISK,Banda, St Andrew Turn, Rift Valley Academy, Braeburn, Crawford, Aga Khan
The day schools.
Have you watch the video? I said Alliance then Brookhouse which is an international school. Brookhouse is an international school and I have never said Alliance is an international school so you are just diverting the main thing that your guy studied at the top notch kenyan international school which taught him a village English.
rvp2018:
Alliance is not international school. It part of kenya nationals school - very bright kids from poor background like that Maasai are itted if they score very high marks in KE. Definitely Alliance High School graduate will take any Tanzania round in so many circles. That kid you see is studying Engineering...the TZ kid who looks bi-racial definitely cannot smell that boy in academic
Alliance is definitely one of the greatest school (actually THE GREATEST HIGH SCHOOL) in kenya with huge history - and most kenya leaders are product of the Alliance.
Alliance then Brookhouse which is an international school watch again. The lady is not biracial
rvp2018:
Precisely. It almost embarrassing to be here - the level of the intellectual discourse from the west Africans, Tanzanians and the rest is particularly appalling. I have participated in many kenya forums - and frankly this kind of mental retardation doesn't exit.
Yes, majority of these countries are still stuck with Brits system of education - even if it doesn't work. And you wonder why these nations despite all the incredible minerals and natural resources remain at the bottom of development. One of them is literally named gold coast - and yet look so whack you'd not imagine they literally mine gold from the surface, oil, aluminum, tin and have great rivers flowing through it.
The greatest denominator of success in life is EDUCATION - and it ought to receive the greatest investment. But look at Nigeria for example - the number of kids out of school is staggering, those in schools can barely read or write, just like the average Ghana or Tanzania kid.
A student from International school in Kenya vs the lady from international school in Tanzania.

Good, does your mobile money service offer pension, insurance and investment option ?
you started just a year after Kenya but your penetration remain stagnant , what is the reason behind this.
They offer insurance and about investment there is something called M koba which is basically a Saccos if you know it. By Mpesa or Tigo pesa You can pay to whatever you want.
Honestly speaking, whether it was covid or not , your guy wasnt supposed to survive long in that position...You guys might speak ill of Kenya but we ed that period sometime back...The so-called powers be initially never like Uhuru/Ruto presidency..we were warned of consequences..Somehow we managed to cool down an talk stuff
Yeah I think Obama would've like to have Odinga in that state house so Uhuruto had to go to Hague .
Keep lying to yourself. We dont use liquified gas in Mombasa in large quantities. Its for export. Pump the gas and we will export and market it for you. Just like your cashew nuts and avocados. Its a win for everyone.
rvp2018:
We are working with chinese - chinese deliver on time and cost - and they don't want treasury delaying with money or etc - so they prefer debt financing. Tanzania you're working with jokers like Turkey, Egypt and even South Africa - you will end up with huge project delays. Chinese gave us NBO-Mombasa SGR complete with dry port in 3yrs. They work like bees. Day and Night. Weekends. No holidays. No sundays. This require money to be available always. Not for treasury to wait for taxes to be collected.
You're losing a golden opportunity that NEW China is offering. See what they had done in Ethiopia.
Yes our debt is at dangerous level now...and we need to be very careful.
rvp2018:
That should be directed to South Africa. South Africa should worry about Bill, Bob and Mary - they need to generate that kind of high tech brains - and keep them. Not have them relocating.
Kenya is at stage where we don't need that many university graduates. If you check - we have corrected that mistake - we instituted mass failures - and opened TIVET/Vocational colleges. We are trying to move from Lower Middle to Middle Income - where basic manufacturing is required. So we are opening new 300 plus colleges..and open to enrol millions in there to learn basic stuff after high school. I think enrollment now is at 400,000.
Heck we are middle of changing education system - now in lower primary - to competence based model. Tanzania you're still doing monkey business of building stuff without any well thought out plan.
South Africa should be moving to the next stage of manufacturing. Manufacturing complicated stuff like chipsets control units; name it; Not posho mills.
That is good but it can't eliminate the main question why your Gov can't do a meaningful project without Loans. Look at Morocco a nation with less budget than you, look their projects and yours, Tell me how can you be in the level of South Africa.
