Tinubu did not do anything for Lagos and they know it. 50% of Lagos State was built bt FG, 25% by non-indegenes & businesses while the remaining 25% by pa Lateef jakande(the greatest governor of all time in both Lagos & south-west). The only thing tifnùbu did in Lagos was to transform it from a welfare state to capitalist one in order to loot and steal as much as possible. Lateef jakande built LASU, & LASUTh, built low cost housing estates all over Lagos ( about a million housing units) and he did all this in just 4 years. Buildings in Uyo should look like Tokyo (onitsha) the least should be 4 floors upwards, they already have Good quality road network, standard stadium 🏟️ and hotels. All they need is a city metro railway, a mini industrial park, at least 20hrs of electricity and improved security.

In 2yrs time Uyo will descongest Lagos and millions of young Nigerians will move into the city in sreach for a better living environment and for greener pasture. Because to me personally Lagos is over crowded and need to be dis congested, like El Rufia Urbanisation policies in Kaduna city helped dis congested Kano city.

People saying nonsense anyways that where I reside Festac is still sharp just bad roads some blocks of flats need to be repainted. Bad roads

Guy, the lagos you guys are boasting with today was developed from revenue generated from the Nigeria Delta region crude oil sales so I always wonder when you people boast about this Lagos and even threaten non yorubas to leave the state and a lot of all these threats comes from does Ekiti and oyo yorubas.
Me I'm from core south south and a proud one at that, I cant just carry my bags and start going to Lagos, I don't like Lagos at all.

Even FG cannot currently build such a huge estate. They rather build substandard houses that await the next windstorm to wipe off the low quality roofing.

Much of today's Lagos used to be part of the old Western Region. Lagos territory was between VI and Yaba/Surulere in the colonial era. There was a signpost of the Western Region somewhere on Ikorodu Rd.

It is said that Isolo, Ikeja, Ilupeju, Iganmu industrial and residential estates among others were built by Awolowo. That's cocoa money not oil.

Who really built this Lagos sef? Even Gowon build Lagos and yet Tinubu claimed to have built the whole of Lagos. It's an insult to all of us

2nd avenue, 5th avenue and some roads are a complete horror, then the block of flats are also a horror to behold.

Not sure I've made a comment here on Nairaland in at least 3yrs. But seeing comments like this is really saddening. Because if this same Festac at its current state were to be in the East, you would have praised it to high heavens. And the Lekki you talk about will only get better in 20yrs time because the buildings there are not government housing schemes rather they are for the elites. I don't expect you both to understand anyway. But worry more about where you'll be in 20yrs and stop wishing others bad.
