the yoruba tribe is really known for honoring elders like that and he’s a true omoluabi.
that's why there is an emir in ilorin while Fulani kids are using the omoluabis as target practice materials in Yoruba land.

As a Christian, you'll also find it difficult to follow the teachings of Jesus because its difficult. Just understand that cultural and religious teachings cant be modified FOR YOU otherwise they will keep modifying them for everybody.

Stop being silly. I'm definitely more Yoruba than you. As a Yoruba man it's not necessary to prostrate before a Fulani man or ibo man who doesn't have that in his culture. Do you think Akinwumi would prostrate to greet his hausa maiguard even if the maiguard is older? No! This is just eye service

U aren't Yoruba. Stop the lies

Our respect for elders is not selective irrespective of the status of the person. So, I wonder where you are drawing your reference from.

Funny how lunatic call those wiser n superior to your senseless father didirin. A man chose to show gratitude to those he believes helped his course a lunatic from the pits of hell is here telling him who n who helped him. So a man who rose to become the president of AFDB does not know his helper, it is a NL lunatic n nonetity with a hopeless future that will tell Adeshina who he should respect. Indeed, many mad lunatics roam the street of NL.

Your father is a lunatic. Will you prostrate to your Hausa maiguard who is older than you? If Akinwumi is doing it just because buhari is his helper and not because of age then it's all eye service

Prostrating is not the only way we show respect to elders in Yoruba land especially if the elder does not share our culture. Show me a picture of Fashola or Osinbajo prostrating for buhari

Can you prostrate before the Hausa maiguard in your house if you have one? Answer. But there are other ways you can honour and respect him as an elder. You don't send him on errands or shout at him. That's yoruba culture.

Did you see my moniker? I'm from Osinkola ruling house, Ile Ife, Oba Aderemi's family. There are many ways to show respect for elders. Prostrating is just one of them which is not necessary when dealing with non Yorubas. If he bowed before Buhari, would Buhari be offended?

The teachings of Christ did not include prostrating for people who don't share your culture. There are other ways you can show respect. When you have an European boss somewhere in Europe it would be embarrassing to him to have you prostrating before him. Be practical please

Ode, have you ever seen a Yoruba man in suit and tie come out of his car to prostrate before the Hausa maiguard who opens his gate? But then a sensible Yoruba man would still respect his maiguard or house maid who is other than him if he's a true omoluabi. He doesn't have to prostrate. The omoluabi ethos goes beyond prostrating.

Where did I generalize that prostration is the only way to show respect to elders in Yorubaland? I standing up for an Ibo man to sit down inside BRT and the man was totally marveled.

He even said it openly that I have changed his perception about Yorubas on that day. So, I wonder where you drew your own reference of selective respect from.

Look at you. Can you show me where I ever said he shouldn't respect an elderly person? Where did you draw your inference from that I implied that. I'm glad you see my point at bolded. I don't know why so many of us have become hypocrites. Everybody has their culture; the chinese, the Arabs, the Russians, the Indians. You cant say INDIAN CULTURE is rubbish because you love European culture so much. Everything MUST NOT BE DONE according to western culture. Many people CHERISH and promote their culture.

IF YOUR CULTURE IS WORTHLESS AND HAS NO VALUE, let others promote their culture in peace.

Whichever way you see it, the Yorubas don't need your validation to promote OUR CULTURE. OUR MOVIES, OUR FESTIVALS, OUR GREETINGS are well known ALL OVER THE WORLD. You can continue to use UNKNOWN GUNMEN to kill yourselves.

'Prostrating is not the only way we show respect to elders in Yoruba land especially if the elder does not share our culture. Show me a picture of Fashola or Osinbajo prostrating for buhari'. This is your statement.

And part of my response was that "Where did I generalize that prostration is the only way to show respect to elders in Yorubaland?" So, why writing epistle on simple matter?

My point is clear - irrespective of tribe or status, our culture is to respect elders.

But you are the one writing epistle when you were basically saying the same thing I was saying. E bi ewa gbami. Would you lie down for your boss at work before we know you respect him? A respectful bow and "Yes Sir" would sufficewink

He is not Yoruba and obviously one of those who hate President Buhari because of his tribe and religion wink If he's Yoruba he will know how deep the meaning is. Bibire o ṣe fi owo ra

I am a yoruba lady and I will never kneel down for any elderly person who isn't from my tribe as well since they don't regard that in their culture it will just be wasted on the elderly person will an Igbo, hausa, fulani, ijaw, tiv,or urhobo person I am older than kneel or prostrate to greet me?so why should I kneel for their elders too? that we are yorubas doesn't mean we should be mentally unwoke or subservient it is this moronic subservience that makes other tribes dish out things they can tolerate to us in their regions!!

Prostrating to a fulani man who his people are arrogant, disrespectful, murderous and violent tufia!it doesn't mean I am disrespectful but respect should be given to whom is due!!

You dey mind the idiotic fulanis masquerading as yorubas to cause division on this forum?at least hausa are still respectful bcus I have had s with many of them but you see those domineering murderous fulanis they don't have regards for elders,or women at all I have never subscribed to this prostration as a form of greeting as I am a full blooded Yoruba from Ekiti state being educated and hygienically conscious should have taught us that one can easily pick up germs from prostrating what if the ground is dirty thank God that buharis office is even neat I was reluctant to let my cousin prostate for an elderly person on the street one time as that place is filthy I had to drag him to the wash room when we got home to scrub his hands what if I wasn't there with him?that's how he would have put those fingers in his mouth? health care is now very costly in Nigeria.

And if I didn't let him prostrate for her it would have seems that he is untrained!! at least kneeling isn't that bad
