Will you prostrate for your Hausa maiguard because he is older than you? Answer, so that we deduce wether you are Yoruba or are

And thats why the Yoruba man has "Mining hands" than the average Ibo man whose hands are soiled with all manner of sordid and illicit trade.

As a Yoruba man I find it awkward to prostrate before someone who is not Yoruba no matter how old or what he has done. A respectful bow is enough. This is just eye service
Your comment reminded me of an experience when I prostrated for everybody (my dad's friends) at the table who were yoruba but extended hand to shake the only igbo in their company. You need to see how furious Prof. (the igbo man) was. It was like I killed his relative that day. Others were all laughing at him, knowing how he queries yoruba culture. 😆
For me, no culture is superior. Respect other cultures.
NB: I did it deliberately.

You seems to gat a point but I don't think it's an eye service.

Eye service..
Buhari have collected his own share from the national cake and he is now resting...
Can some tell me one achievement that should classify him as an elder statesman ..
Is it his hatefulness..
Is it his bigotry..
Is it his tribalism..
Is his love for his Fulani ethnic group instead of the Nigerian project first..
Even I come across some one bearing his name or looks like him I will hate him automatically ..
He called us dot and during his tenure my people were slathered in the name of python dance but his own terrorist brothers became repented boko haram ..

President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Mr. Akinwumi Adesina visited foemer President Buhari in Kaduna to express his deep appreciation for the incredible he received during his nomination for President of the AfDB by former President Jonathan and throughout his re-election.

“You stood by me in difficult times, and it made all the difference. Thank you, Sir.” He told PMB.

No, because he is your employee. it also depends on your relationship. However, if the Hausa is your neighbor and say your father friend and his job is megard, the ethos of Yoruba tribe is to greet him with the same respect you will give your father. Yoruba ethos does to require you to prostrate to every person you meet. But it require you to be respectful no matter their status in society.
Your ability to distinguish who to prostrate to, bow than to and who not to is called home training aka wisdom. If Adewunmi is in a king palace he will prostrate all the way than he did to former president Buhari.

Also let say you have a megard in your house while you wer growing up and you now grow up and become a big man and return home you can still prostrate to greet the megard as a show of respect. In this case he is your father's employee not yours.

I've always known this! Yoruba don't respect elders from other tribe, they're so disrespectful and will fight and insult an elder from another tribed.only igbos see others the way they see their own

Call it what you may but there's a warm feeling this type of greeting does to your heart no matter which tribe you're from. The reason for the greeting is between him and Buhari and I can assure you that this type of greeting is reserved for a true benefactor and not just for every tom, dick and harry elder out there.

Stop being silly. I'm definitely more Yoruba than you. As a Yoruba man it's not necessary to prostrate before a Fulani man or ibo man who doesn't have that in his culture. Do you think Akinwumi would prostrate to greet his hausa maiguard even if the maiguard is older? No! This is just eye service

Will he also prostrate to greet his Yoruba cook even wen d cook is older Abeg rest na eye service but iz good service nonetheless

This is indeed a significant issue because we have certain tribe in Nigeria where people disrespect their parents to the extent of waking them up with bicycle kicks, let alone showing disrespect to an elder from another tribe. We need to promote habits like this, especially when they come from respected individuals like Akinwumi. This way, our misguided brothers from that region can learn from and adopt better manners.

Yoruba will prostrate to greet someone as soon as the person turns his back they will insult curse and plot evil against same person, the so called Yoruba form of greeting is deceitful , I always run away from any Yoruba person that gives me unnecessary respect cause I know behind that respect there is something evil

Ask Fubara why it is a great dealquote author=Dijita post=135028021]Why is this a big deal? He is a Yoruba man. Buhari is his elder and also his benefactor. This man will go to his village and do the same to the elders that are benefiting from him. It is a manner of greeting to show respect and humility in Yoruba land[/quote]

Did his maiguard contribute to making him president of the AfDB?!

You lack knowledge of of omoluabi ethos are

This is a faceless forum as such a Igbo tribe can claim to be Hausa and A Yoruba man could do same as Igbo. Just to discredited the value of the other tribe.

You should have known he's not a Yoruba tribe and ing issues with him is unnecessary

What about Okonjo Iweala?Buhari removed an SS woman's name to replace it with Okonjo as WTO chief then.

Maybe greet him the way Kanu followers do.

You're saying trash. You're not a Yoruba person

You respect everyone as a Yoruba person. You don't have to lie down flat for your older employee.
A slight bow is enough, I've seen old women do that to me in many villages .

Funny how lunatic call those wiser n superior to your senseless father didirin. A man chose to show gratitude to those he believes helped his course a lunatic from the pits of hell is here telling him who n who helped him. So a man who rose to become the president of AFDB does not know his helper, it is a NL lunatic n nonetity with a hopeless future that will tell Adeshina who he should respect. Indeed, many mad lunatics roam the street of NL.
