Shame on you and the chronic ignorance. In an attempt to act smart u want to think outside the box of Law. I wish that is how it works, constitution would be changing per second all in the name of 'silly' out of the box thinking. You actually acted but could not conclude the smart part.
Again before you droll with spits, Go and read,
Emergency Act is enshrined in every constitution in the world. It does not matter wether you like or hate who the power resides with.
The people who wrote the consitution, recognizes how powerful that power is and the check and balance are the same thing needed to IMPEACH A SITTING PRESIDENT.
2/3rd REP, 2/3rd SENATE
That is why there has to be agreement with the other arms of Government. Instead of u crying , just blame the Senate and House of Rep that endorsed it.
Mumu
I don't have any issue with emergency rule, it is sometimes necessary...
And in time of emergency rule, the exercises arbitrary powers, especially in security deployments..
BUT NEVER IN FINANCIAL AND BUDGETARY APPROPRIATIONS.
You don't tell me that because there is an emergency rule then the would receive the state allocation and spend it without ability to any group.
You think Tinubu is a fool for saying that the istration will be regulated by the FEC (of which is another illegality).
The FEC can never take over the role of the Rivers State House of Assembly..
And let me reiterate my point which many of you are too stupid to understand... It is an aberration if the Supreme Court says that a Governor (who is even democratically elected), cannot spend money without an appropriation bill but a sole appointed by a President can spend money without appropriation because there is emergency rule..
It is a complete aberration, a charade, an absurdity, very preposterous.

The Sole of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has announced the release of withheld local government allocations, assuring that necessary steps will be taken to ensure the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, ThisDay Nigeria reports.
Speaking during a meeting with Heads of Local Government s in Port Harcourt, Ibas described the gathering as a pivotal moment in the collective effort to restore stability and progress in the state.
The Sole lamented the economic hardship in the Niger Delta, noting that despite the region’s wealth of natural resources, its people continue to suffer.
“This is unacceptable,” he stated, emphasizing the need for transformation and ability.
The expressed concern over the delay in salary payments across local government areas, acknowledging the struggles of affected workers.
“I feel the pain of the workers,” he said, assuring them that the withheld allocations had been released and that his istration would ensure that salaries are paid without delay.
However, he warned that financial ability would be strictly enforced.
Ibas, a retired vice iral and former Chief of Naval Staff, directed all local government areas to submit their wage bills, ed by relevant documentation, through the office of the Head of Service.
He said his istration will not tolerate financial recklessness, vowing to scrutinize the handling of public funds and take action against any mismanagement.
Ibas said good governance is not just a slogan, but a commitment to changing the negative narrative within the next six months.
He further stressed the importance of collaboration with traditional rulers and security agencies to enhance security at the grassroots level.
“You must take the lead in ensuring security within your domains,” he urged local government s.
Responding, the President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and of Port Harcourt Local Government Area, Clifford Paul, acknowledged the developmental strides made in the state despite political conflicts.
He commended the Federal Government for appointing the Sole , attributing the decision to his competence and leadership ability.
He pledged to peace and stability while urging the to prioritise workers’ welfare.
He explained that local government workers are currently owed two months’ salaries, but are hopeful now that the withheld allocations have been released.
He encouraged stakeholders to seize this opportunity to rebuild trust and foster unity in the state. https://thisdaynigeria.news/2025/03/21/breaking-fg-releases-withheld-allocations-to-rivers-sole-/
All the BEST to the new of Rivers State (Ibok-Ete Ibas) for the next 6 months and BEST of luck to the genuine Rivers State folks.
To the two stubborn sides of the political divide in Rivers State, I hope they've learned their lessons and would resolve the issues at hand while throwing their stupid egos that help no one away. Period.

U are speaking English to confuse urself the more.
Supreme Court relies on the constitution. The constitution is clear about how a Governor can spend state funds. It has to be appropriated and budgeted for by the state Governor with approval from the State House of Assembly. That is the law.
During State of Emergency , the president becomes the constitution and the Law himself in the areas he declares state of emergency. He uses his discretion as he wishes and no court can overrule him.
Again, those who wrote that constitution knows how powerful that emergency power is and can be abused and they empower various arms of Govt to stop it before it becomes valid.
That is why u need to read the emergency power act and stop arguing with emotions and ignorance at the same time.
Again go and read about Presidential Powers during state of emergency in any area across the world.

Is the argument about “is it ok” or “is it illegal “ or u just realized u av been arguing blindly and want to change the topic ?
And yes every where in the world, a president can appropriate funds during state of emergency. As a matter of fact , he can decide what to do with the available resources.
No wonder u started by attacking with condescending word like “mumu” this and that.
The dullard said they are not god.
U are quite empty. I am done with you.

This olodo doesn't even realize that it's a violation of the constitution for the President to suspend the Governor and the Assembly.
That's why this debate is even happening in the first place.
Going by the constitution of Nigeria, even in a state of emergency, the Governor and the House of Assembly must be in place..
Guess you didn't know this, and that's why you've been "spitting saliva" all over this thread.
No President or Sole has got the right to make spendings outside an appropriation bill approved by the Governor and his Assembly...
Even in Tinubu's SOE, Fubara and the Assembly are supposed to be in place,
Obviously you don't know he has grossly violated the constitution, do you?
It is therefore illegal for any President or so called to spend any money without appropriation, even in a state of emergency, Whatever emergency!
Stop reasoning with you prostate Oga.
