Nigeria is the biggest market in the region. Close our Border with Cotonou against goods. Except human movement. Leave Lekki Port available for them. If they do not come through there, some other importers will use it. We did not build the port to become weak to some poor neighbors. 1 Like |

Let them abandon it. They are one of the reasons why Northerners have refused to restructure the country. Let go to Benin republic.

Stoplying: 11:08am On Feb 01, 2024 |
It is incredible how uninformed you guys are, Niger Republic and it's allies in the region will be using Moroccan ports. Is Morocco part of ECOWAS ? |

pocom16: At least they can negotiate intelligent deals that covers the modern scope of activities. Not the obsolete deals negotiated by our either greedy or ignorant forefathers. Eg, the Nigerian crude oil already sold out many generations ahead. |

dre11: They can use North African ports and transport it through the Sahara desert. |

Austindark: There’s no woos for us. The woos are for them. Think rationally, this boy. Don’t just comment here to gain some likes from none.ntities like you. The 3 countries do not have sea ports. They rely on other ECOWAS countries at our West African coast lines for their sea imports. Don’t forget that sea importation is the cheapest means of international transportation. The 3 ceding countries would, either create their own artificial seaports within their zones, or do their imports via air, or go to Northern African ports like Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt to clear their shipments which is far compared to southern seaports they have always used before. They can also use Senegal route too. So, stopping importation through South is an own goal for them. All their import is less than imports of 2 states in Nigeria. 2 Likes |

MeineMutter:Far from where ? Morocco has given them rights to use its seaports and they are happy with Morocco. You don't seem to realize that ECOWAS under Tinubu's leadership made using its seaports a big headache for these countries under ECOWAS sanctions and under military threat from ECOWAS. They found a solution and you call it an "own goal" 😂 You refuse to sell food to me, I go somewhere else to buy and you say I scored an own goal ? How about you just lost my business ?🤣 Nigerians like you will call someone "brother" and procede to ruin that person. That is why nobody wants to be your brother. |

Is Benin Republic not part of ECOWAS? If they like let them import through Johannesburg port. They're are the biggest loser. |

IamAtikulate: 1:05pm On Feb 01, 2024 |
aspabay:They didn't. We're the one losing. Are you aware that Benin has lifted suspension on imported goods transiting to Niger? And it's even cheaper to import from Benin? |

Stoplying: Is it economical for them (Niger, Mali & Burkinafaso) to import through Morocco? Head or tail, they are the biggest losers. |

Don't forget, River Niger on which Kanji Hydro power station sat on past through Niger. The country can as build hydro dam on it, which imply less water flow to Kanji dam. There's reason it was collective agreed to have the hydro build at on section of the River Niger. River Niger span more than 4 countries and each country can not be allowed to build dam on it course. ceejay80s: |

Raf4:I do not know if it is more economical for those countries and neither do you. But look at this in this angle: A is a cheap doctor and B is an expensive doctor, A refused to treat your illness and B accepts to treat your illness. What would you do...? ECOWAS ports are not worth the trouble. These three countries chose what is best for them and ECOWAS ports didn't fit the criteria. Now move on and stop talking about "own goal", you lost their business, it's over ! The "own goal" was on yourself when your president decided to threaten and sanction these countries. |

vanbonattel:Tactical stopage in form of non allocation of funds for the contractor. Or sponsorship of saboteur to blow off strategic areas of the rail line; then set up instigation that will not finished investigation till the end of first term. |
Raf4: 2:14pm On Feb 01, 2024 |
Stoplying: May be you think you're talking about some super economy countries here? Niger & Mali are on verge of becoming a failed country. They need ECOWAS more than the other way round. It's a matter of time, Russia and China that are deceiving and giving them false confidence will sooner than later show them their true color. |
Stoplying: 2:38pm On Feb 01, 2024 |
Raf4:Dude, they have a lot of ressources. The reason why they are poor is the fact that my a country was exploiting them. They fought for their freedom and sovereignty, and you their brother decided to stab them in the back. Their economic future is not going to look anything like their past. You Nigeria, you've lost all credibility, African nations would rather deal with south Africa while you continue your path to irrelevance and total loss of sovereignty to the west. Soon enough, no country will deal with you directly, they will cut deals with the west, you will only have to fulfill those deals. That is the life of a slave. Get used to it. |
Austindark(m): 2:38pm On Feb 01, 2024 |
MeineMutter: That was what people like you thought when you cut-off their electricity supply. Today they have more stable electricity than your darling country. Start thinking outside the box bro. Who needs importation, when the domestic production is sufficient. When they get everything right, Nigeria will even start begging them to export to us. Since in Nigeria, the only thing you think of is import this and that. 1 Like |
