What do you know.

Take time to read the post again. This time slowly. And tell me what other options they have to import as a landlocked country.
You don't know anything. Niger is presently using cotonou port which is closer to them and even cheaper and they speak the same language

And even the electricity cut off did not improve Nigeria electricity supply

They should even dump all ECOWAS Ports and AU airspace since AU has adopted the same Position as Ecowas

At least now the Kano Maradi Railway has ended
And the Railtracks can be used elsewhere in Nigeria

Is it True Taraba has no Railway at all?

The Tracks should be removed and used to Link Taraba to Makurdi and Abuja instead.

Taraba deserves the Railway more than Niger

More woos for us

I like their idea. Any well meaning country must not be too dependent on another country.
That thing dey cause see finish.

It might be expensive at first for them, but in the long run it will pay off and they will have their self respect.

What difference does it make..

They leave Nigerian ports to become dependent on Benin republic

Very Good

They should also keep their Herdsmen out of Nigeria

The Bororo Herdsmen who were disturbing Oyo State were from Niger

God will do absolutely NOTHING. He gave us the same brain he gave to the residents of Canada and the U.S. It's completely on us if we fail to use our brains.

And so, how much do they give to Benin Republic an ECOWAS country compare to what chicken feed Nigeria business men give to Benin Republic?

Niger Mali Burkina faso will cry when all the ECOWAS countries slam them and their illegals citizens in ECOWAS countries

Buhari use to give them petrol to subsidized rate.

They would lose more than Nigerians who are also going through very hard times.

Olodo.

Go back and read the post again

They were importing through Benin republic. With Leekki port, they are considering switching to Nigeria, but one guy thinks because of ECOWAS exit they may choose to remain with Benin since they speak the same language. It’s their loss. Nigeria would have been cheaper. And Benin is still an ECOWAS state.

Illiterates all over this forum.
Even at that, both 3 countries are land locked countries. Nigeria's influence in the region can pressure Benin or any other west African bordering the Atlantic not to accept the deal.
Last Last, they will all come to dilemma on a round table.

The military wing of west African stares is ecomog, ECOWAS should have used economic pressure not the initial military threat

Niger Republic, Mali, and Burkina Faso leaving ECOWAS may make Niger reconsider using Nigerian ports. The political turmoil within ECOWAS could affect their earlier plan to use Lekki Port. The withdrawal may hit Niger harder as they rely on Nigeria for electricity and trade.

...AND THEN WHAT ?
DONT FORGET THAT ECONOMIC TIES FOSTER OTHER ALIGNED RELATIONSHIPS.
THE ATTACKS ON PORTS WILL START AND OUR TRADE NUMBERS WILL BE BROUGHT DOWN.
I\D EXPECT IN A DEMOCRACY THAT DIPLOMACY AND DIALOGUE WOULD BE EXHAUSTED IN RENEWING RELATIONS AMONGST THE BLOCS EVEN IN THE FACE OF INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE TO PUNISH THESE COUNTRIES THAT ARE SLOWLY TRYING TO MOVE AWAY AND RENEGOTIATE TIES WITH BRICS WHICH IS NOT GOOD FOR THE SUBREGION.

Niger Republic Importers May Dump Nigerian Ports β€” Agents

May dump?

I thought they already do. Wasn't the foolish excuse to connect Nigeria to Niger Republic by rail based on the fact that Niger routes to Cotonou already, and Nigeria supposedly desired this trade?

They're under military rule, hence the initial gra-gra. Trust me, they'll soon calm
