oladele239: I'm sure you could get this from jumia presently. I'm aware it's in stock at the moment. |

This is the kinda setup I was talking about guys. It's doable for longer backups Simple summary Get an external battery Charge it from the power station Charge the power station from solar When the sun is down , charge the power station from the external battery 1 Like |

twosquare: Correct. Ecoflow has variants of AC outlet shapes for different markets. EU, US, NG, SA, and the Chinese bit too. The Nigerian version is also built to withstand our kind of power shocks and instability. 1 Like |

Happy Sunday Guys. I was charging my Ecoflow Delta 2 with Solar and using my fan with 35w but the fan went off after about 2 hours. I was surprised because the D2 was charging and the load was really low. I then discovered that the AC switch of the D2 went off on its own. I turned it back on but then it makes three ticking sounds and goes off on its own. It’s refused to stay on. What can I do?

iamlammy:I just did some testing and discovered it’s the plug from the solar connection that’s causing it but i don’t know why. If i connect any other appliances, it works but when I put in the plug from the solar connection that’s, it goes off |

iamlammy: To rule out a faulty xt60 connector on your mc4 to xt60 cable or the female xt60 on the delta 2 itself, If you have any car around, plug In the car charger that came with the delta 2 and see if the same thing repeats. |
iamlammy(m): 5:05pm On Feb 09 |
Babatundehy:It’s the AC plug connection that is wired to the house not the xt60 connector |

iamlammy: My understanding of your post seems wrong, a rephrase would work, what do you mean by 'plug from solar' |
Babatundehy: 5:15pm On Feb 09 |
iamlammy: If you mean the 13amp plug connected to the AC output port of the power station which then goes into your house mains, then something is wrong in that circuit, inspect the plug, check its fuse, the wire and everything you can check, you already confirmed other appliances work when plugged into the same port, next thing to look at is the circuit that goes from the AC output port of the Power station. |
twosquare(m): 7:53pm On Feb 09 |
iamlammy:Like he said, check the plug and ensure it's the proper amps plug you're using. Then the house mains socket too, wire, etc. |

twosquare: Okay. Changed position to horizontal and cleaned it well due to the dust accrued due to the harmattan. We had the first rainfall here 2 days ago. I've decided to use an improvised mount (thick flat wood) so that there can be enough space between it and the roof. Anytime I want to make adjustments to this thing, na so so thinking because of the weight... ![]() ![]() Anyway, I hit 150 watts this morning at this time stamp. Reason I'm quoting this. Despite the cloudy and rainy-like cloud. Can't wait to see if there will be great improvement during good sunshine and solar noon.

twosquare: Does you guys Ecoflow get used while being charged? I mean, do you turn on your house appliances like Laptop, Fan, Lighting etc., while the device is being charged? If yes, does it get fully charged when the sun sets even after charging most of your appliances during the sunny time? |
twosquare(m): 11:33am On Feb 10 |
BigDickProblems: It depends on the load. If I turn on the freezer, with other appliances, I'm certain I will hardly reach 70%. Why? Before changing the position, cleaning and raising it a bit, highest I got was 223/250, as opposed to 350 when I first mounted. Now, if I get 400+ between 12 - 2 pm, it will be full despite the load. So, it still boils down to the input of the . Just screenshot hitting 290 + at this time, which wasn't like that in the past few months, harmattan, etc. If your load is not higher than what it's generating, you will be stuck at 96/97% if you've charged it full. As the sun sets, generation drops. Minus load from input. Just that rate of depletion will be slow. What I do sometimes if I'm not in a hurry is allow it to charge to 100% before running anything. But if I'm in a hurry, I can switch it on now, and suffer later at night (I may only be able to enjoy few hours of light at night instead of long hours). This is because by 6:05 pm, no more input. Battery may be at 80%, so, the rest till night. I'm still able to enjoy it till 9 pm if I put on my freezer. However, if freezer is not part of the load, it can carry me till early morning or less sha, depending on what I switched on.

iamlammy(m): 12:20pm On Feb 10 |
Babatundehy:Yeah this is what I mean. I made a typo earlier saying it was the solar connection. |
iamlammy(m): 12:22pm On Feb 10 |
BigDickProblems: Yes . I use appliances while charging and my D2 gets fully charged daily except the sun doesn’t really come out or i use so many appliances that exceed the solar input while charging 1 Like |
twosquare(m): 1:04pm On Feb 10 |
twosquare: So, I can say maximum I hit today at this time stamp is 341 watts. The difference is 21 watts and that I hit it faster 43 mins earlier to this time stamp.

twosquare(m): 1:07pm On Feb 10 |
BigDickProblems:Now almost full. Imagine hitting 400+. I may save 2 hours earlier rather than 1 hour. I will have to wait for the 3rd rain or March, that's when I will judgement on my Jinko solar . If a single piece is worth it. 2 Likes |

BigDickProblems: In addition to what twosquare has said, it is often advised to not use and charge simultaneously when the battery is low ( I take low to be less than 20 percent), this is to prevent battery damage. Using the Ecoflow while it is being charged is what makes it a solar generator, all I do is charge it up to like 30 percent, make sure what's coming from the solar is good enough to keep on charging the power station even while the power station is loaded. For example, last night i drained my Ecoflow to zero, the sun is up and it started charging, i wait until it is above 20 percent charge, then i plug in a fan of 30 watts and then laptop totalling maybe 110 watts, I have less than 100 watts coming in from the solar because it is still just past 8am, my Ecoflow will not charge and it'll keep losing charge until my solar input is much higher, better thing to do is to disconnect the laptop of 80 watts load and let the unit charge for a while the solar input increases as the day brightens up, then I can reconnect the laptop or some higher wattage appliance. Say it is noon or near noon and like 300watts is coming in from the then i can load up the Ecoflow until like 220 or thereabout, this is because the power consumption of the inverter itself isn't calculated by the unit, the closer the added load is to the solar input, the slower the unit charges, might not even charge if am too close, best way to use the sun fully is to have load connected to the unit while it is also receiving charge, if i wait to charge it fully before using then i will not get back those waiting hours, important to not do this below 20 percent charge, and make sure the total wattage of my connected loads isn't too close to the total watts coming in from the solar , as the solar input increases I can add more loads while the unit continues to charge. 6 Likes |

Babatundehy: Nice and well detailed. Definitely, you cannot use higher load output than the PV input and expect your battery to charge. What really prompted the question was that, twosquare’s screenshot shows that he is not using any load on the System while charging because the output was showing 4Watts or so. I would have wondered how on earth you will be enjoying your Ecoflow. My 512Wh system with 3 pieces of 200watts charges my 30,000mah power bank, rechargeable fan, laptop, other little appliances fully during the day time when there is sun, and my battery is usually full by 1pm, sometimes 2pm, with all these load plugged in even at 12.6V (15% of the battery capacity) in the morning of a new charging cycle. Meaning that just like yours, I always drain my battery to 12.6V before another charging cycle in the morning, and at this time, I still plug my appliances except for my fridge. |
