Candidlady: Yes, many know but can't help themselves as their living depend on the take home salary. And if you how tough it is to secure a job, you'll just have to endure and do away with self dignity. 2 Likes |

Flee from Chinese, Indian and Arab companies. SEEPCO/Sterling an Indian oil company is the worst oil exploration company in Nigeria today.

It’s unfortunate how there is so much taking advantage of each other. All through my working life I got paid at about the 26th of the month or every 4 weeks so when I was in a position to pay others I campaigned for this to the extent that I resigned within a month of being made secretary of the CDA cos the chairman was nonchalant about salary payment and knowingly entered into a contract he had no intention of honouring. On the other hand I got to know that security were leaving the post after 12 midnight to 5am when they were contracted to work a 24 hour shift and so many other infractions. They generally want the money but not the work. Nobody will touch the building materials left in the street and you employ security and they take without asking the owner building materials that does not belong to them. So who is to blame. . 2 Likes |

Wodu89: How about employers that default on salary payments, pension contributions and basically feel they are doing employees a favour by hiring them? 1 Like |

Exactly. At my place of work, there are wicked heads and line managers. If you work in a private school, They’ll give you their work to do and when you refuse, they begin to taint your image. Fight you physically sef. Tell lies against you. They want you to neglect your family and work even after work hours. Have no other life but your work. Too bad…

It is what happens in Lawless entities like Nigeria! If there were laws put in place to protect the rights of workers whether in private or public sectors, such would never happen! These are things I expect the legislators to look into instead of rubber-stamping every useless bill from the Presidency! 2 Likes |

Wodu89: Granted. But I specifically asked about employers who don't pay on time. Make unexplained deductions. Don't remit pension contributions. Are these employers saints? And mind you, there's an abundance of such emoloyers 1 Like |
