Great and Interesting!
Russia saying or demanding something does not make such demand right, factual or reasonable by default!
What then is the value of independence and sovereignty of a nation?
Just my 2 cents. Peace

I made it clear in an earlier post—true freedom does not exist. I can live freely in Lagos, buy land, establish a business, and even marry a beautiful Lagos Babe (if she gree). But as an Anambra man, can I truly aspire to a leadership position in Lagos?

Before you answer, that Nigeria is one country, and we all have equal rights regardless of where we live.

Like Buafoods, like Buacement?

Forbes ranking? cool cool

It seems there's a correlation between their prices and Forbes ranking..

OakPearl:
While the rebasing and economy debate is raging, don’t get carried away and miss out on the fact that an opportunity has been presented in Bua cement.
If you believe in Bua’s future growth and prospects, take a long term position now at the N88.50 it is selling now.
If you are not sure because the previous numbers are not convincing, stand by the sidelines until you see reasons to.
Happy investing.

You and I know that Nigeria is an aberration! grin
But even at that, as an Anambra man, you can still occupy a leadership position in Lagos. We have had people from the south-east appointed as Commissioners in Lagos in recent times (a Commissioner is leadership position)
But even if that is not the case, two wrongs do not make one right.
We should condemn what is wrong or bad, and use the best practice as the benchmark or desirable standard.
The moment we choose and adopt the wrong or bad thing as the desirable standard practice, we are all doomed and finished!

I want the governorship or nothing—LOL.

But on a serious note, Russia sees NATO building bases in Ukraine, right at its border, as a national security threat. You may not fully understand these matters, but strong nations take them very seriously. The U.S. would have done the same. You don’t allow your perceived enemies to set up camp right next to you.

The U.S. tends to use other tactics—regime change, sanctions, and inciting internal conflicts—to weaken a country. Russia, on the other hand, chose to go straight to war. undecided

I understand what is going on. It is a continuation of the bi-polar cold war between the West (Europe, especially US) and Russia.
What Russia could have done is to find a way to use commando style to take over and occupy positions in some strategic locations in or around Ukraine which would then trigger some international tension and negotiations, but without necessarily waging this kind of senseless war killing innocent people. He could have done that and let's see if Ukraine would be the one to fire the first shots at the Russian troops.
Saddam Hussein did a similar thing when he occupied Kuwait in 1990, but he did not wage war killing the Kuwaitis and had to be driven out by US and the Allied Forces

I have over ₦400,000

What's the best stock to buy? I would really appreciate recommendations.
I will do my own due diligence

Thank you for your anticipated response.
Depends on your investment goals and kind of play.
Goal types: value retention, money doubling, steady income etc.
Play type: Investor vs trader, one stock portfolio vs many stocks, sell in May and go away vs stay at all times etc.

I would buy a dividend-paying value stock of good public reputation (Zenith, UBA, etc) and use the March/April dividends to buy books. I'd cash out my capital and stay away till I have read books, learnt on this thread, and decided my goal type and play type.

NB: Your 400k has great potentials, and it is a potential school fees.

UNIONDICON
My Oga BBM mentioned this Company, Union Dicon Salt Plc and it caught my attention to find out what's with the consumer goods Company for their inactivity and unprofitable situation.

* The name behind this Company is a big name, Rtd Lt. General T.Y. Danjuma, his company and some notable Nigerians in Defence.
* The company is in partnership with a Brazilian cou, AIMS Ltd, which also serves as the technical partner
* This company is in same/similar business with NASCON, it operates in crude, processing, packaging and distribution of iodized salt.
* Total OS is 273.3M
* Free float 21.95%, some reports says 18%
* There are some activities there recently....

** So what could be the reason why Oga T.Y. Danjuma didn't pay keen attention to his company till now?
** Why wasn't capital injected to keep it running profitably?
Why was Alhaji Dangote not considering buying the company over, since it's a competition? Lol.
These are the questions I was pondering upon, I then said let me post it here......

**Update: UNIONDICON is presently in financial crisis and needs bailout in form of fund injection thru investors to revive the company and avert risk of NGX delisting.

I'll keep observing. I didn't enter when it's mentioned here as I didn't have idle funds to risk (My risk appetite is between moderate to conservative, for now.)

But I am sure another buying window will come soon, hopefully.

(I have learnt from here not chase a moving bus)

If they don't start production, they will surely need more PR to maintain currentprice.

Ellahlakes still at play, potential reversal region 3.08. my thoughts is that we will see a short term reversal to 4.6 region and then retests these lows again... yes!, except El breaks 4.95 top ... we are playing between 3 and 4.95 ranges and it can easily go lower if 3 does not hold....yes its that simple. There is a bullish divergence in the 30m chart of EL which ordinarily i would have considered, but this period is when people make mistakes in the market.....watching and learning...
