What's embarrassing when we don't allow other strikers to have longevity in eagles... imagine Osimhen just beat Odegbami record of over 43 years.

Good that we are having Osimhen now
You are getting my point, we discard our players easily maybe because we have 200 million population, so we feel we can easily replace any player.

Which ones are getting close to 100 sad

Godfrey Chitalu holds the highest at 79 in 111 games
Kinan Phiri at 71 in 117 games
Hossam Hassan at 69 in 177 games!

Drogba, Eto'o & Gyan have 65, 56, 51goals in 105, 118, 109 games
Just look at the number of games!

Mane is 45 goals in 113 games. Just 8 goals above Yekini with about 50 games more!

Yekini had only 62 games! You don't know what embarrassment is
Pls I'm not here to talk down on Yekinis achievements, for me having 37goals as a record for over 30yrs is embarrassing as a football power house we claim. Look at The Drogbas, Etos, Gyans are at least more recent.
Pls my comment have nothing to do with Yekinis goals vs number of games debate. Even if it's 40goals in 200 games.

not just an L, a team that won just a game throughout the tournament, no cohesion

Simple...

If he goes to Saudi today, I'm damn fulfilled. Make English clubs go eff themselves.

He's shown that he's not a small or an average player. Many people saw him go to the Turkish Süper Lig and even thought or wished he won't perform 😂

24 years record - The highest scoring foreigner in a single season (all comps.) in the history of the Turkish Süper Lig (not even for Galatasaray alone)... Kokmekn been dey save some drafts...

Osimhen doesn't just break records, he extends them and raise the bar higher to make you sweat to break it! Ask all the U-17 players wey don dey try even equal him record since 2015. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👑
The only fulfillment Osimhen' can give to is to break the Yekini 37goals. That record is an embarrassment to Nigeria when you see other African teams getting close to 100goals as a record.

They've been knocking on the door for a while now so I'm glad they got it done this time.

It's a huge win for privately owned NPFL clubs as it shows that with the right investment and structure, success is possible.

It's also proof that a club doesn't need to be government-funded to compete at the highest level in Nigeria. You are happy a private owned club could compete in the NPFL with government fund but still go on to ask the ogun state government to do something for the club 😲

Hopefully, this will inspire more private ownership of football clubs and better management across the NPFL.

Big congratulations to Mr Kunle Soname, Remo Stars. the people of Ikenne and Ogun state.

Governor Dapo Abiodun suppose do something for the team.

So after all the talks and rumor mills, Man Utd are not in for Osimhen.

Charles, you can rest now. Na Cunha una manager want. Lol
Sorry to say Man Utd is not a serious club as at here and now. You have Casimero on 350k and Mount on 250k. Get rid of one of them or even both and get Osimhen, a top striker, a game changer.

The skills of kanu and okocha has to be studied by scientists and football experts. They also have to be taught in football academies and reconceotualized for the modern game
See the way he beat the two defenders, very intelligent player.

Yes reason why he was employed.

He gave Zimbabwe a point and loss 2 points in a must win match.SA extended their lead with additional 2 points ahead of us,now tells me how he has improved Nigeria team.

SA got 6 points during the break and
Nigeria got 4 points.

He got Nigeria 3points instead of the usual 1point or zero point away in Rwanda. 4points in 2games and 3points in 4games is a big improvement oga

Yes with our poor position on the log nothing stop us from having 6 points and funny we dropped 2 points at home to Zimbabwe,so Chelle go receive stick o
i see an improvement from 2points from 2games. He just need to get his team selection right.
zicky(m): 2:25pm On Apr 11
Philosopher1979:

Yeah you are right. Chelle has to listen to eguavin if he wants to succeed. The issue is eguavon should have been retained after the failed world cup qualifiers against Ghana. That would have given him enough time to mould the team. Also, he should have succeeded peseiro and not the inexperience finidi. I also noticed eguavon actually learn from peseiro. In his mashes he went from 3 4 3 to 4 3 3 and other formations.
Thirdly chele does not understand our players he badly needs eguavon. I believe he will be humble enough to learn from him.
Chelle with 4points from two games is already receiving this much stick, no only Eguavoen, he go also learn from Finidi.

I'm a good follower of Okoye and want him in the national team too, but do you know Nwabali has saved the team in critical times more than he has made errors? Why una dey quick forget?

I want Okoye to keep for us too, but no Nwabali slander can stand. That guy don hold that position well, my only problem with him is the laughing. Nothing else. He's good too.
i so much love you take on issues here, you don't need to slander one player to bring another up, as if it's the other player that's blocking your favourite player from shining. Especially those that serve the national team diligently.

Firstly Premier league legacy was the point of this argument .

Kanu and mikel played for big clubs on their prime ,okocha was only the main man at Bolton and fenerbache that’s all ,put him on that arsenal team that has Henry Bergkamp and co he won’t even be the 5th main man ,let me not even go to the Chelsea team mikel played for

If they arrange the best African Epl XI he will never be found on the starting 11 ,so please spare me all these crap .

Mikel is now a fringe player because you want to defend okocha 😁
like the way guys dy misrepresent fact just to defend their favourite. Westbrom the least club Kanu played for is the only club I can rate same level with Bolton

During Okocha and all the other names playing days, whenever they were playing for the SE, Okocha was always the main man and the heart of the team, not Kanu. Infact there was never a time when Kanu was rated ahead of Okocha in the SE.
Let's take our mind back to Atlanta 96, players like Okocha, Omokachi, Oliseh were rated ahead of Kanu in the team and it was those 2 goals that Kanu scored that brought him to limelight in the SE, not that he was the best.
Okocha legacy in football far outweigh other Nigerian players that have played in the EPL till date

I'm not sure you watched Okocha played, maybe you just watched his highlights later on or just the latter years of his career at Hull city.
During Okocha playing days, mostly from 1998 - 2004, he was the heart of everything SE and Botton Wanderers. I can vividly how we used to give up before commencements of matches both for botton and the SE if Okocha wasn't playing.
He was the heart and soul of the SE in 2000, 2002 and 2004 ACN and at Botton, they were so unknown and he solely brought Botton to limelight, that they are still experiencing till today.
During Okocha days at Botton, Bolton playing the big teams were seen as big matches , not even Kanu commanded such prestige for all the club's he played for in the EPL.
Lastly, Botton Wanderers still have fans and sympathisers in Nigeria till today because of Okocha. When it comes to the EPL, no Nigeria player till date has made better impact .
He think if was rated among the top 100 greats ever in the EPL.
Oga I totally disagree with you on this, same Kanu that made Arsenal a household name in Nigeria. Abi same Kanu that made Nigerians started watching and ing Portsmouth that they even came to Nigeria to play preseason. Portsmouth during Papilo time became a top-half club and even won the fa Cup, thanks to Nigeria finest, kanu. King Kanu as he was popularly called at Portsmouth. Oga make ena calm down with this Kanu slander.

Kanu performance in 6 Afcons and 3 WC will always make it debatable to rate him as Nigeria best.

If going by APOTY then Ikpeba is greater than Okocha.
nothing debatable, I'll say it again, you can't rate a player base on at most 4WC games in four yrs or 6AFCON games in 2yrs. Jayjay we all know should won at least 1998 APOTY. Kanu played several games for SE outside Afcon and wc.

I hope yrs later we no get hear say Osimhen was poor because he couldn't qualify Nigeria for WC
zicky(m): 1:59pm On Apr 04
Kog45:
Meaning Mikel is greater than Okocha
if you say so. For me I rate Mikel very highly but Jayjay was already a household name, a brand. The position Mikel played affected his rating and it's unrelated because Kanu we are talking about is a 2 times APOTY which no other Nigerian won in 2 decades until Osimhen.
zicky(m): 12:54pm On Apr 04
Kog45:
Oga Zicky,Kanu is intelligent and won laurels that only Mikel can compete with but Kanu cannot be the best Nigeria player ever, only way to rate Nigeria best player is Super eagles,I repeat it Super eagles.......how could Nigeria best ever player went to 6 Afcons and 3 WCs with no goal and his assists is debatable..... Argentines accepted Messi after winning WC,and they valued his goals and assists.

I respect Kanu cuz I watched his debut match live for Nationale against Ranchers bees of Kaduna in FA cup played in Ilorin,he came in from the bench and scored, zeal it for Iwanyanwu in a dramatic way, after the match me and my friends went to Circular hotel in Ilorin where Nationale lodged to see tall and skinny boy Kanu, then baba I be real local football fan and tagged stadium boy.

Pls how would you rate Boniface as at today in Nigeria football history compare to Osimhen and Lookman
i totally disagree with you, players are rated base on club and national team all over the world unless you have an a bias mindset. You can't throwaway 100s of games to rate a player base on a few national team games. Argentina and the world already know Messi is the GOAT, he only needs the world cup to cement that status. Watch players with open mind, Osimhen playing for Gala, he's not just representing Gala but also putting Nigeria on the map. Yes national team football is important just as club football. Kanu represented SE playing 86games and you want to tell me he was just a squad member or a pushover even in the SEs. It's an insult to even use Boniface who's not even an established SE player to compare Legendary kanu because he has zero Afcon goals

As they perform for their club we need them to perform for the national team cos that’s what will grow our football. Boniface is doing well at club level but how many people here still want him in the national team in fact some don’t want to see him again at all. Is that deception?
It definitely no deception but if we want to pick a new face to replace him, we still go look at his club performance. Iheanacho was one of our top performer for country with a good goal per game ratio, but we still call for him to be dropped base mainly on his club performance. So what we need is to a balance not saying we don't care how they perform for club.

Thank you o they make it look as if club football is our priority here, wetin concern me with uefa champions league if a super eagles player can’t score against Comoros or Guinea Bissau. Let’s be guided o!
You can't talk about SE players with talking about their club performance week in week out. You did not notice this players until they begin to perform for their various clubs. Let's not deceive ourselves, I don't care about champions league blah blah blah, but Lookman hattrick almost shot down the page. If Osimhen score hattrick for his club this place go shut down.

so what brought Kanu into the conversation, if not same person that mentioned Yekini as SE best player was at the same time talking down on Kanus achievements to make his point appear legit.
