Nice one OP. I'm experiencing similar thing. Let me quickly share to boost some people's spirit. I'm a Bs.c graduate in an Engineering field. I did some marketing job after Nysc on a contract base, when it ended I had to seat at home for some months. I later got a job with a company known for poor renumeration. I was started this Job 2018. My salary is almost the lowest. I started with less than 50k, even though I was told it will be 50k, but most times they still deduct. But I was able to see that I could run a business with the company and I started little with around 200k. At a point, I had to get some loans(Which I've refunded all) to boost my capital. And within 2years, am already in millions(Not really big one ,but I never thought of achieving the feat this early). With God, since the beginning of this year the business as gotten to a level that I earn close to 2million from the business monthly as soon as there is no stoppage. My salary got increased by 10k though. Lols... God's wisdom really helped me at every point of decision making..

Morning NL, Please I will need some guide here. I actually want to go for Msc and am planning towards next year. I will be the one to sponsor my self, though am hoping I get funding. But in case getting funding is stressful, I have been gathering money through my business apart from my salary work and I won't mind to pay my fees. Though I just have around 15M at the moment.. And since I have my side business, am thinking I can use that as a tie saying I can't leave my business that I have to come back after Msc, and I have been using my business company bank to run transactions as evidence. For those that have gone, I want to know if 15M will be enough, since I might resolve to paying school fees myself just in case funding is not coming forth. I'm sceptical about the money, more reason I think it will be better for me to work more till maybe end of this year, if I can raise up to 25M or so. Please I need input for those are familiar with the process. Thanks

Fellow Nairalanders. I don't know if am confused or just want to seek opinion as no one is an island of knowledge. I'm an Engineering graduate. Though am not working in my field, but I engage in some business where I work and am making some few cash. My salary is around 50k for like 2years plus. But I started a business there with 200k and at the moment am running the business with around 12million. With the look of things now, averagely I will be making around 1.5m to 2m monthly through my business. I have always been willing to escape from this country probably through educations means and its not like I really like book, but I just want to use MSc as an opportunity to leave here to a Sane environment. My issue is, am confused as to whether to just face my business squarely and forget about traveling or just raise close to 25million to 30million and leave the country. Thinking that it might not be that easy over there and am still single. Just contemplating as I don't just wish to settle down here because of the kind of life I want my unborn kids to face.

Hello NL, I need candid advice in my decision making. I'm a graduate. Bsc holder in an Engineering field, though not working in my field. I've been working with a company close to 2years now and my salary is between 55-60k. Though I get some other tipping from my suppliers and have been doing side business with the suppliers almost immediately after I ed the company. I've been able to raise close to 8m. I plan to create another source of income because I don't want to work for someone for more than 15years or so. I had two things in mind. The side business I've been doing is about haulage , getting trucks to go load stones from quarry to sites. I intend getting a truck which at least for second hand one will cost 11m-12m. All things being equal, one truck should be giving me profit of atleast 300k-400k. weekly. And hoping in less than 6months, if am continuing my business with income from truck then I can get another truck. The other option I had in mind is to get probably two plots of land close to a campus and build around 30-40 rooms. It will be a room self con setting with rent range between 120-150k. I know the building might cost between 15-20m (just guessing the estimate though) . I won't mind the time it will cost me to gather the money. I believe once I have a project in view, I will have more motivation to achieve my aim, as I don't want to buy a car or build personal house for now since they are going to be a depreciating asset. Now I know every businesses has its own risk. I need advice on which one to venture in, because I don't really wish to work under someone for the rest of my life. Risk involved in venturing Into truck business include, not getting a good driver, accident, mechanical faults and the likes. Though there will be insurance. But I think in of building, the risk seems to be minimal. Sorry for the long story. Please all input will be appreciated. I need to weigh my options. Thanks...

Hello Nairalanders, been working with a company for over a year now. One of these foreign company that pays useless salary. For like 10months, my salary was less than 50k. Now around 55k B.sc holder for christ sake. But have been doing business indirectly with the company through some of the company's suppliers and I do make more than times four of my salary initally. As a matter of fact presently I work with not less than two million and every month that will be giving me not less than 500k. At the same time, am thinking of writing exams and travel out of the country for Masters. But my mind is just telling me to remain calm and make my money. Because my calculation is that in less than 6months to this time all things been equal I should be making between 800k-1m monthly. I don't know if traveling out of the country for Masters worth it now, because for me to be able to run the business efficiently, I must remain in the company to monitor it. Please I want to hear people's view on this. Thanks
