You were poorly informed by whoever told you that garbage.

To start with, I am a medical student and not a dental student so I will be unbiased and tell you some gospel truth.

1. Graduate of Medicine and Surgery face more stiffer competition for internship placement compare to their dental counterpart. You will never here of any case of a dental graduate searching for where to do house job unlike the numerous cases of such recorded by mbbs graduates.

2. Dental Doctors are scarce compare to medical doctors. For every 30 Dental students, their are at least 120 medical students. They are highly sought after because of their dwindled population

3. MBBS and BDS are both treated as the same on the same salary scale. For the record, the only different between MBBS and BDS is that due to the complexity of the maxillio , head and neck region, a Medical student have to specialize early during undergraduate studies to become a dental doctor while an MBBS holder still has to go for a 3-7 years residency to specialize in whatever field of interest. (specialist are dentist, neurologist, gynecologist etc.)

A BDS holder is a surgeon while an MBBS holder is a physician. (physician are those boring doctors that sit all days in an office just attending to patients).

Mind you, the only aspect we medic are more inform than dentist is in the area of obstetric and gynecology, and physciatric while they are more vast in the head and neck region.

Go for BDS if you love it and don't be discouraged by ignorant people who don't even know what is called a CARDAVA.

You will even here some ignoramus say, dentistry is all about pulling teeth.

If not for the fact I would like to specialize in cardiothoracic surgery or plastic surgery, I personally would have opted for BDS.

Even many people have discouraged me ON studying MBBS. They said many doctors are beggars, one of them even told me he knows a doctor collecting not more than #50, 000. I was told medicine is no longer lucrative like in the days of 80s and 70s. If I had listen to the nonsense and jargon people told me, I would have just accept Agric in good fate.

I just see them as ignorant and blind haters.

The fact is Nigerians love to display their ignorance openly.

You said it all

Questions on long clinical cases....

A lethargic 32-year-old woman was brought to your clinic. She complained of dyspnea, General fatigue, and oedema in the lower extremities.
She was diagnosed of severe thyroid crisis, more clinical examination shows hyperthyroidism with congestive heart failure and liver dysfunction. Soon after ission, sudden cardiopulmonary arrest occurred. She was then transferred to the intensive care unit. Her serum glucose level was 7 mg/dl.

Questions....

a. Discuss in details the pathophysiological pathway/correlate of thyroid hormone in respect to the congestive heart failure, being specific on the type(s) of circulatory shocks that occurred here...

b. Discuss the reason for the serum glucose levels at 7mg/dl, assuming that the levels of insulin/glucagon ratio was normal. Relate extensively to thyroid hormones, and cardiac failure if possible the remedy...

C. Outline other probable latent symptoms(complications) before the patient surfaced and potential complications if proper/immediate care is not taken?

OAU is better.
OAU has been there for long. UNIMED has not even graduated the first set of students that is was itted.( They started in 2015). So without any doubt OAU is pretty much better.

You just lied.. Ah! 2015 ke?? Unimed have been graduating medical students since, and they have one of the best facilities... There medical school started since, except you are talking about security purposes..... But people are still studying there and graduating...

There are two things that will happen to you when you realize that dentistry scammed you after your housejob money is finished and you are borrowing money from ur optometrist friend to patch up ur 70k salary till month ending, when hunger starts knocking on your door as a general dental practitioner:
1. You either become a motivational speaker like you are trying to do in your post here,
2. You start hating everybody and everything like ur colleague homesteady.

I dont understand what you mean by optometry not being recognized...The current provost of the college of the college of , medicine absu, together with the v.c is an optometrist.
I think you r trying to say that optometrists dont enjoy the status that medical doctors enjoy in the public service. That is true. But then here it is, whatever medicine enjoys (and dentistry as a result of parasitic apposition to medicine) is a result of professional politics which optometry has never been a part of until fairly recently. The public service has never had an enormous attraction for optometrists who have always been well off in the private practice. Health care activism started fairly recently in optometry.
Then again it is in the realm of private practice that the actual value of a profession is weighed. There are medical specialties and even general practitioners that are stupendously successful. They prove that they are doing the govt a favour and not the other way round. Unfortunately dentistry is not one of them. Can dentistry please replicate all her self-acclaimed clinical prowess in the private sector. Of course they cannot. Govt feeds you for being close to medicine.
A govt dentist can earn a higher salary than the optometrist because the country is built for rent sharing. But that is where it ends.
The optometry earns a much higher income than the dentist. The optomettist is a citizen of the whole world, with employment waiting for him outside Nigerian whenever he wants it, which cannot be said of dentistry.
I better read medical radiography than dentistry. Your hope of measuring up to the successful optometrist is to become a cmd and start looting hospital funds...I just hope it pays you...
I am waiting for the day dental clinics start becoming busy, then we can talk.
Again, an optometrist cannot head a department of ophthalmology, neither can an ophthalmologist head a department of optometry. But both can head an EYE CLINIC. Go and check out military hospitals . Optometry have their own residency training just like dentistry. The only difference is that urs is sponsored by the federal govt. Like I said before, politics made it so. Thats why NMA pours huge funds into politics. Dentistry has their own association, yet nobody hears of you. Yet you guys have the temerity to complain about medicine's marginalization. If u guys complain they should throw you into the street to fend for yourselves, then lets see the real value of your services...
u said I am talking on assumption...be patient, the dead will soon sleep to his satisfaction...ur philosophy on money making not being a function of ur degree is okay. guard it.you will need it, especially as a dentist.

Lol... And you even forgot that a dentist who specializes in oral and Maxillofacial surgery will also access an eye patient especially in the case of trauma and places where there's no Ophthalmologist.... You can browse and check it....

Dental curriculum also included the eye surgery which is Ophthalmology....

They are not patching with doctors... So many medical field aligned with Dentistry which is what made both medicine and Dentistry one family......

Some specialties of medicine that aligned with medicine are neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, Anasthesia, and plastic surgery.....

Dentistry have private suite for accident and emergency, it doesn't end in scale and polishing or extraction.....one dental Implantology which was done in our teaching Hospital cost 350k...... Talk less of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck....

Most a times, dentists are the first people to notice and probably manage eye problems before referring to an Ophthalmologist and not to an optometrist..... A times people even get treated by a dentist without knowing it, just like a child that recently had his mandible dislocated upon falling from a story building.... Tomorrow he will Still not believe it was a dentist that treated him.... The Public have a shallow knowledge of Dentistry but people in medical school where Dentistry is run always understand whatsapp.... Thank you oga

I pray your senses will

My brother, this case scenario is very simple...throughout this country, the optometrist will always outgross a dentist. No matter how small the optometry clinic, oga a dentist will not contend. The private sector has giving us their judgement of the relevance of the professions. Even a busy optician will outgross a dental clinic. Let me not even mention the non-clinical technical aspect of optometry busines involving blank surfacing and lens. Some surfacing labs make an average of 5m a week. Go to agbor and ask about.
U guys r delusional to compare an optometric grossing with that of dentistry.
Do u even go for outreach? You guys are few because ur board knows that if they increase intake u guys will beg for a living. Without any , optometry still by far outgrosses ur department which eats from medicine's laps.
You want change what is clear to everyone...you are trying to prove what is as clear as daylight.
Put ur money where ur mouth is. When u finish go and open a dental clinic in Benin, then u will know that hunger is not a text book concept.it is real.

Choi! This guy is so so dumb

Pls educate me, do dentistry students also sit for BDS professional exam in 300L in addition to MB1 they will be taking with MBBS students?

It varies for different schools.... Like in UI, you start all the dental courses/professional exams in 500 level after, you must have written final mbbs (medicine and Surgery), but in most other schools like Uniben and my school UNN, Dental students write most MBBS and BDS courses simultaneously.....

Like, aside from the normal physical and biological Sciences exams in first year which is taken as the first professional exam for both medicine and Dentistry, we write the 2nd BDS professional exams in Oral Biology (Oral anat, physio, and bch) in 2nd semester 2nd year, before writing the 2nd MBBS professional exams in General Anatomy, physio and biochemistry.....

U will try I get you a run-down of the academic regulations

With all due respect, medical schools are not the same. For instance, only select medical schools in Nigeria are recognised by most states medical boards in the United States.

Sorry, but I don't know where you got this thing from.... Provided you are licensed to practice by the regulatory body... You are equal to another.....
Medicine and Dentistry is beyond varsity control... It is Nationally based..... The blacklisting of varsities for medical training have stopped since.... There's qualifying exam one have to write, if you want to go abroad.... Graduates of allAccredited medical schools in Nigeria are free to do so.....if you are talking about the degree of consideration by the foreign medical boards and the slight changes in curriculum, I will give you some credits..... But saying one medical school supersedes the other is a no no..... Doctor na Doctor, provided he has a genuine license

They are our lights...
They are our Heroes...
They crossed the hurdles and the stumbling blocks... The hazy and thorny bridges of the college of Medicine...
faculty of Dentistry they called it... It sounded easier and lighter until they got in to behold the Dragon...

Doggedly, they tactically smashed their fears and anxieties....their lights superseded... Shining brighter than a diamond....
They trampled upon the multiple serpents of the Dragon.. The 2nd BDS part A Oral Biology (Oral Anatomy, oral physio and Oral biochemistry) with the 2nd Mbbs General Anatomy, physiology, Biochemistry.... Chai ! Metabolism.....

they smashed the scorpions.... The 3rd Mbbs Pathology (chemical pathology and Histopathology, Hematology, medical microbiology and immunology, morbid Anatomy) and pharmacology....including the burning horns.. 3rd Bds in Dental prosthesis, Basic technique in Dental Anasthesia, operative techniques and science of Dental materials....
Like Eagles, their wings enveloped the final mbbs in General Medicine and General Surgery, including and the subspecialties of both medicine and surgery..... And General Anasthesia... This was when they qualified to be doctors....

It still didn't end there....Just like David, they catapulted the Goliath in final Bds.... These are Restorative Dentistry, pediatrics Dentistry, preventive/community Dentistry and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.... Finally Qualifying them as Dental surgeons..... Indeed, They have won, and the crown awaits them.. ..

Come Thursday 26th... The Stakeholders from all spheres, families and friends, the Academic community, physicians/Dental surgeons, and college of Medicine as a whole will converge at the faculty of Dentistry Hall at UNTH.. And watch as the 10 I latest Dental surgeons of the 017 class of the University of Nigeria, are inducted into the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria... Automatically giving them green lit to become of Nigeria Medical Association and also Nigeria Dental Association.... As there titles gradually changes from Mr, Miss or Mrs to the noble title "Dr"..... Indeed, the journey that started to 6yrs ago with so many that were itted, just 10 got to the final destination for now...
You are all invited...

The motto of University of Nigeria is "To Restore The Dignity Of Man".... And one of the academics that reflected and personified that maxim was Dr Uche Mgbeokwere (BDS Nig, FWACS)) ... An Oral and maxillo Facial Surgeon.

As many scholars talked about him being a colossus in learning and described him as a thorough-bred and highly cultivated individual in manners and character, I wished I met him as well....
As History had it, he was The class rep of the first set of dental students University of Nigeria,(1989set)... He is one of the reasons Dental education stands in the South eastern region of Nig..., Today, we are studying dentistry in UNEC...
As a student, he led his classmates to disrupt an ongoing Senate meeting in Nsukka, just to make sure dentistry got accredited... I can't help than to imagine such boldness, and such rare courage they picked! I also imagined their number, and the contorted faces of the then VC and of the University Senate...

As a Dr, he was also among the very few that fought for the rebirth of the present dentistry we are all enjoying now...
Until his death, he was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, University of Nigeria, Teaching Hospital, (UNTH),  Enugu.

He has held many responsibilities in the Department, Faculty, and College levels which include :

1.Member,  Directorate of Research and Publicity, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.

Co-ordinator, Clinical Dental Services, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, Nigeria. August 30th, 2010 –October, 2011.

Head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria , Enugu Campus. August, 2009 – July, 2010.

Head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria , Enugu Campus. August, 2009 – July, 2010.

Examiner in Dentistry for Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria ( MDCN) Qualifying  Examination for foreign  graduates. 2009.

Co-ordinator, Residency Training Programme for Post graduate  Dental Surgeons, UNTH, Enugu. 2008 -2009.

Associate Clinical Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, College of Medicine, UNEC.

Acting Head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria , Enugu Campus. December, 2005 – May, 2006.

He also attended many workshops both nationally and internationally, and many research papers published and others currently in the print...

The late Dr Uche presents the picture of the conscious, fully-aware Surgeon and Academic working consciously, assiduously on a cause to achieve maximum effect.

like air and Water which were among the essential things that forms part of our existence, his teachings dwelt.... His visions for Dentistry in UNN was neither ensnared, nor quaint. The vision encapsulated his consciousness, his self belief and benign hope.

He has been very ive to the growth of UNDESA... Indeed a great Hero is gone...

As the:

Nigerian Dental Association

Nigerian Medical Association

Nigerian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

International Congress of Oral Implantologists

And the varsity community prepares to pay him the last respect on the 25th of this month,
Which will be kicked off by an Academic procession by the lecturers and most especially the Fellows (holders of Fellowship of West African College of Surgeons (FWACS)...(Burial arrangement will be released proper)

May the Gentle Soul of Dr Uche Mgbeokwere and All the faithful Departed Rest in the bosom of the lord...Amen

The Orgy Option....

There are these things that appeal to me.
Things like standing at My balcony under the glare of hot afternoons and watching high above the horizon, the acres of coloured aluminum metal roofs caught in-between deciduous trees, and walls wreathed in creeping bougainvillea at the rise and fall of hope in this city full of faded beauty.
When I will watch the beauty of Enugu, the Lights that are so bright that they seem to blot out the stars at Night... feelings that leave me fascinated or get me thrown into a state of Melancholy, drenched in detailed thoughts of certain depressing restraints.... A certain constraint that existed those days when I was confined within the walls of my room and to my family alone, guarded and guided by principles, many principles, so much that certain questions were silenced by fear, and love, and routine and Religion. This things influenced me deeply...

It was in this state that I reminisced about Olanna, who later became one of my roommate’s Exes.
Did she not know that Ndu has a certain kind of taste, a soft spot for ladies with normal body but large boobs and big rounded Ass?

" A big rounded ass? What on earth do you need that for?" I had asked surprisingly....
And he had gone on his normal lecture series, telling me how pleasurable it is.

"There’s no big difference between you and a queer person, all of them are through same route" I chipped in though unwittingly...

"Taa.. There is ooo, the breast nko? It’s just called trying things differently," He had said with haughtiness and piled irritation written all over.

"That was so thoughtful of you, Pervert!” I said sarcastically, with the kind of scorched mockery that blurs damage.
Ndu had a glowing ego. He propounded his own theory for girls; the girls who kept on coming. The theory of investment and profit. So when Olanna came, I conceived in my heart that it won't be long and she would be become overdue.

But things went differently, She never had large boobs and mighty ass, but she is beautiful ......she stayed long, and then even longer.... I respected her because she shaped him. I found myself and everyone that associates with us relating with her.
Feisty and manipulating was what I could define of her, I feel the strength and feelings encapsulated in her words.
She had ed me at the Balcony, the first evening she visited.
She had raised a conversation on Orgy and Single porn, and how she preferred the latter to the former because watching porn, where so many people are assembled in a place, all pants down with a lot of to and fro movement, doesn’t give her the room for concentration.
I listened with rapt attention, and smiled at intervals, saying almost nothing...
She later got to know in the middle of the discussion that I just learned about Orgy; and she had thought my story of her was of an irresponsible, vaguely foreign teen-ager, with the haughty silkness of the weave that fell to her shoulders in loose curls, who could get her clothes off before the snap of two fingers... but that wasn’t my thought.
I was only marveled by the neutrality and simplified certainties, and her confidence, with which she talked about things like this.... It sounded so normal and common, so natural, when it was coming from her.

It was from this balcony that I heard empty promises which he showered upon her; it was from there that I heard her moans of pleasure and ecstasy, the moans that led me imagining her stylishly putting off her clothes and bending over and been stroked differently from the back.....

When she started visiting often was when I knew that her time was up. l wanted to tell her that she was loving him too much, and that she should allow him to yearn, and grow in great need of her, but I kept quiet.... It was not my relationship after all.

Later, Olanna, Okafor and I would go to Bethel’s Inn to have lunch, and I would watch the empty seats keenly, the seats that were formerly occupied by all of us but now empty because something happened. A Break up happened.

Olanna would ask me the kind of people that I will love to do, the kind of extension that translates sex and love to endowment, and I would her lectures of Orgy....
I wanted to tell her that I don't do ‘people’ but would like to concentrate on a person, a person that I love individually because of the person’s value and the impacts; I wanted to tell her that I love for the intrinsic value and removing anything that is not intrinsic in the person I do....
I wanted to tell her that, to me, love and sex are different but complementary and that it wasn't divided in quanta for a big rounded assed or a flat and larger boobed people, But I just mumbled some words which I couldn't .

It was in the days like this that I will receive her calls, a week after they had broken up. while enjoying from the balcony, the tranquility from the insights in the air..
She had called to ask me whether he had started seeing someone, and I’d answered "I don't know".
But I know... I knew that Ndu started making advances to Ihuoma after having her 4th series of sex. Here I stood, at my balcony, premeditating on how to tell her that Ihuoma, her best friend, with big ass and large boobs is currently lying on my roommate’s bed

Don't underestimate those quez, these same quez sent most people out of the college bc they assumed It to be sounding more like an end of course assessment,
Here In my school, they expect you t0 write all that you know.... I mean all, including certain basic Anatomical physi0

like in the 1st quez, u needed not to say just the renal aspect of the answer, the GIT hormonal remediation is required t00....
like the role of secretin and CCk, and partially m0tilin...giving detailed answers 0n how each 0f the hormones will affect the restoration of these Parameters as listed above...

S0 its not all about saying what u know in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone-ADH system that will fetch you all the marks... U say all u know without deviating from the context of the question

Donpre:

The release of ADH from the pituitary and Aldosterone from the adrenal would facilitate reabsorption of water and sodium from the kidney, which would help balance lost water and salt.

On a Hot day:
The skin releases sweat as a mechanism to reduce the external body temperature. This would result in a decrease in the body's osmotic pressure. To counteract this, ADH is releases from the pituitary gland to facilitate water reabsorption in the kidney, hence resulting in a small concentrated Urine.

On a cold day:
The blood has a high osmotic pressure. The kidney hence removes as much water as it can until the osmotic pressure is balanced. ADH isn't released, so no reabsorption takes place, thereby leading to a large diluted urine

#O'Level knowledge but I think I came close

U tried but I expected much more than the peripheral knowledge u just put up...

Mandeyy......keep educating him....just educate him wella...
Also tell him that dental surgeons study medicine, surgery (including anastesiology, opthalmolgy, cadiothoracic, pediatric surgery, etc), pharmacology and therapeutics, pathology, basic Med sci, and also have to study restorative dentistry, peadiatrics, preventive and community dentistry, and oral and maxillofacial surgery (including its diagnoses, radiology, medicine and its pathology).........
Tell him that all this are studied simultaneously in 6yrs, such that a dental surgeon is not just a doctor but a special type of doctor.....a dentist!! Or dental surgeon as it is fondly called....
Tell him that a medical doctor studies medicine and surgery, but a dental surgeon studies medicine, surgery and dentistry at same time.....
Tell him that dentistry is not just teeth but the specialty that deals with the medicine, pathology, diagnoses, radiology and surgery of the oral cavity, that maxillo and facial region, the head and some part of the neck.....
Tell him that apart from the dental clinic and an oral maxillofacial units, that in every plastic surgery unit of any standard hospital like uch for instance, that we have a dentist who specialized in oral maxillo facial surgery being among the frontiers of plastic and aesthetic team.....
Tell him that some specialties in dentistry is part of emedicine( emmergency med) ask him how many emmergencies hv been encountered in optometry...
Tell him that there's a field called forensic dentistry for criminal cases and identification during mass accident and fire outbreak like bombing and plane crash....it was one of the measures taken by luth in identification of corpses after dana plane crash.......
Tell him that dentistry re not in the clinic to count teeth...

Just nine dental schools in nigeria, and u say there's no prospect for a country with billions of pple....ah! Oga think nah.....
They re special type of doctors......a doctor and a surgeon at same time
All dentists are doctors but not all doctors are dentists......

Today we sincerely sympathize with them....

Indeed there are medical schools in west Africa, but in the midst of all is one with 7 black horns and 10 eyes, that has fire and acid coming out from his mouth....
To me, I will say its the Toughest place to study medicine or Dentistry due to her overly strict and tight rules.....

Honestly, we were in rude/deep shock and great consternation when our attention was drawn to the outcome of the 2nd MBBS professional exam written by the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and the faculty of Dentistry/Dental Surgery both in the College of Medicine University of Nig...
.
It was pathetic....it wasn't funny at all....
My heart bleeds for most of them and putting myself in their shoes, I am even scared of my ownself...
Such a result cannot be pasted even in HELL....because the devil will reject it, But here it is in the land of the living...
To the aspirants that want to choose the 2 courses above....Pray for God's direction, one thing is coming in, Another is ing out....it is not a case of I must be a doctor, it is not easy at all.......
You should know how painful it is when one fails Jamb....let alone failing MBBS and repeating or be Withdrawn from the course you laboured so much for many years...
I heard someone had wanted to commit suicide out of frustration if not that the security have to get hold of him....
.
Look at the statistics : in medicine : 107 out of 273 ed that's 39.79% ed.
33 will resit (8 resit bch, 4resit anat, 21 resit physio)....
In dentistry :10 out of 47 ed that's 21.1% ed
2 will resit (1 resit physio, 1resit bch)
Others who didn't fall within the category above will either Repeat or be Withdrawn depending in the degree of their failure....
And note: about 20 people was disqualified from writing this exam because they were unable to attend 75% attendance to one of the courses for 2nd mb and we also heard that 51 in 400l was equally disqualified from writing 3rd MB....

that these people are not dumb...most of them are Genius but MB have a way of rubbishing great intellectuals
.
Prayer Chain
Please, in the next 30 mins, let's take out time to pray for the 2nd MB medical/Dental students who failed their MBBS exams. The hearts of many are failing. Please find a secluded place and say intense words of prayer for them within the next 30 minutes. Let's salvage the souls of many from the enemy. We don't want to hear of suicides or madness. Let's redeem their souls in prayers wherever they are.
on the mount Zion, there is always a hope.. God will see them through in the quest to the zenith of medical practice. Pray for Gods grace, they need it!

Thank you very much for identifying.

Please I have this question to ask about UNN:
Is it possible for one to be itted to study either MEDICINE AND SURGERY or NURSING through direct entry with distinction in SLT?

Secondly, do you know the modalities of ission screening in UNN? I mean the ratio used in calculating the cut-off marks for ission. For example, I know that some schools like OAU used 50:50 Olevel to UTME score last year.
So can I get to know the ratio used by UNN?

Sorry to bother you with many questions.
However, thanks a lot for your anticipated invaluable reply.

Yea somebody can be itted with that in DE but it is very hard bc most pple apply with degree, and most of them are probably Unn/uI graduates coming for 2nd degree in Med......
But I know somebody that got Medlab with SLT from Oko poly......
Just pray and run ur stuff
Its 60:40 % olevel to UTME result......and note: I heard DE students might write screening this year

Please o my oga I didn't equate dentistry to optometry not at any point of the converse. Please try and comprehend my post before you rush to enlighten me. I respect All health professionals, I only told him to leave BDS consultants in pathology out of the picture as I never mentioned them in my post that soon an Optometrist will storm here and start telling me about occular pathology.....Finish (or do you think pathology is only peculiar to only MBBS and BDS holders? Even the study of MLS is pathology on its own)
It's only in Nigeria such mentality exist, in the UK likewise in the US, it's not exclusive to one profession as we see in Nigeria.
https://www.rath.org/discover-pathology/i-want-a-career-studying.html

I didn't equate both professions as it would be foolish to as both are different and distinct professions and professionals.
Dentistry is dentistry and Optometry is optometry (no equation)

Thanks for the long lecture sha and please let this matter slide I don't feel interested in it any longer.

Thank you and have yourself a wonderful easter celebration.
You comment in a harmful/shallow minded way.....
U indirectly belittled bds by saying an Oral pathologist (Bds) is far diff and wasn't recognized seeming like they study diff pathology outside the human body, as if they don't study medicine and surgery as well in the course of bds degree..... and u even attached optometrist to back ur claims......somebody tried to enlighten u and the next thing u did was to meander away from the lights he tried to show u.....
This is kinda myopic as u said mlscn accredits labs opened by pathologist and at same time u said they are not liable, so how can u get accreditation to practice from a body that didn't give u license or accredit your scope of studies in school??
Dr Lagusta tried to enlighten you, but u never tried to listen As u kept on pressing forward to ur own stand

U just have to calm Down and learn......thanks for your time as I am also tired of the blind argument

Do you understand English and took time to read all my comments? Else you'd have seen I NEVER stated they are liable to MLSCN (As they are liable to MDCN as their parent body/ council) and please take BDS consultants out of this (I never mentioned them in all comments except you want them recognised cos BDS consultants in pathology are not recognised/known). Yes MLSCN have a level they operate which are regulation, supervision and accreditation of laboratories in public, private and labs aded to CLINICS (What the law says.....Not me).

Thank you too, but next time you wish to quote/mention me please say something meaningful (excerpts from what I've said)

Mr .........
First, u should know that both mbbs/bds are regulated by mdcn.....hence any pathogist be it chemical pathologist or oral/maxillofacial pathologist is liable to mdcn....
2ndly..... Mlscn might be regulating med lab sci graduates to carry out lab work, but mdcn still license/regulates/supervise/accredit that of her whether they want to run a hospital which a pathological or clinical lab work will be incoporated in it....
They don't need any MLSCN to regulate clinical lab work for pathologists....it is a slap on Mdcn....
U should know that from time and immemorial, Medical lab started from doctors, the people u recognized as med lab scientists today just came up as helpers becuse they help the pathologists in carrying out lab work which the pathologists interprete and even treat bc of the training they underwent in school....

And it will be nice if you add courtesy in your life as that's one of the key to achieving great feat...

medics in the house i really need your advice ,I am thinking of putting ui or unilag for dentistry with 2 B3 and 3 c4 in my five combo... please should I risk ui or put unilag ,but I heard dart unilag is not transparent that you will have to do some runz financially before u can be itted...please really need ur advice
Any of them is Cool......
Unilag got higher quota of 40 in dentistry against ui that graduates 30......u still have to check ur chances of catchments b/w the 2, though ui might hv catchments with almost all the states of the federation......unilag is still good in its own way, just read and score high in jamb as dentistry/dental surgery don't need people to come and feel space, they it the best few among the number that applied

People wey know the answer to this question no wan answer me ba. What's The guidance role is this thread playing then.
Is state of origin written in mbbs certificate?
Like Can one quickly switch to start using another state of origin after graduation??
It might not have adverse effect on u immediately, but upon graduation.....every allocation based on state and Federal level in the medical/Health ministries will have to be from that state u supplied right from the time of ission....
If u want to contest for anything after school, ur certificate won't be saying u are from Lagos, and u want to contest for Governorship in Enugu....
.
Note: Everything about your Educational background will be stating u came from the state u applied for as ur state of Origin upon ission into the varsity
.
NYSC call up letter will show that ur state u supplied, hence u have to keep up with ur game and lies to avoid contradiction.....
I don't think ur License/certificate will show your state, but in the Council, ur State of Origin will be ed during indexing......
Provided u Can keep up with the game and also deny yourself this top position where ur certificate might be scrutinized properly, then there's no problem....
this is Nigeria though....pple still change their states.... But just know that u just hv to keep balling in the game of providing the state/LGA of that state whenever such issues comes up

I may have to quote you again sir,

If you had read my post you'd have seen where I stated MDCN can't regulate laboratory medicine as it's not NPMCN (law). MDCN makes operation and guidelines for students practical in clinical laboratory (based on evidence shown).

Even the pathologists and their labs is being accredited by MLSCN (MLSCN Act 19 1(d). Have they submitted their practice to MLSCN? No. If MDCN regulates what you claim they do why aren't they responsible for their accreditation and the operation of the place.

Look carefully at the picture this happened less than 3 months back (you may need to zoom to appreciate the picture). Get your facts right don't always jump on self defense to say things which are alien and non-existent.

Good night
Oboi! U just need to humble yourself and learn from people....
U claim to know it all whereas u just don't get it right.....
MBBS/BDS Consultants in Chemical pathology or Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology respectively are not liable to MLSCN whatsoever........mlscn Hv their own level wheree they operate from but lab medicine for doctors is still under mdcn

Thank u
