P0010: “A” Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)
The air intake valve and exhaust valve must be opened and closed at precisely the right times. The variable valve timing system is responsible for managing these two valves. When they’re opened and closed properly, it will enhance the engine performance and fuel economy of the vehicle.

The powertrain control module uses variable valve timing control valves to adjust the camshaft. When the powertrain control module tries to adjust the timing of Bank 1 Intake Camshaft, and an electrical problem is detected in the valve or the circuit leading to the valve, then trouble code P0010 is activated.

The symptoms of trouble code P0010 will include a

reduced fuel economy,

rough engine idling,

engine knocking sound,

Check Engine warning light coming on,

increased RPM,

and weak engine performance.

All these symptoms have a moderate level of severity, so you should take them seriously. After all, do you really want to drive around with poor fuel economy and weak engine power?

Some of the causes of trouble code P0010 may include

damaged wiring,

bad camshaft position sensor,

bad crankshaft position sensor,

engine oil sludge,

bad variable valve timing control solenoid valves,

and engine timing operations are off.

You won’t know the exact cause of the problem until you have a professional mechanic inspect your vehicle personally.

A lot of amateur mechanics make the mistake of misdiagnosing the problem by thinking they need to replace the actuator. Sometimes it helps to clean debris off the actuator first because that may solve the problem immediately. If it does not, then inspect the electrical circuit to see if that’s the problem.

You can get away with driving your vehicle while trouble code P0010 remains present. Just expect to stop at the gas station more frequently because your engine will consume more fuel and produce less power. You may also have increased emissions, which means you won’t an emissions test.

Therefore, why tolerate all these problems when you can simply have a mechanic replace whichever component is causing them. It will be cheaper in the long run if you resolve the problem sooner rather than later.

Comprehensive maintenance is cheaper and far better than a corrective measures

Do you have any idea how much this sensor costs? I use a toyota camry 2007 4cylinder engine.

My mechanic damaged the wiring harness on the sensor while fixing my engine and this is giving the engine a rough idle and vibrations. I've scanned the vehicle and I have a P0010

All these obvious and subtle signs are dependent on the experience and thoroughness of the technician handling such conversion. I've converted a RHD to LHD Avensis and nobody knows it was converted cos I intentionally and painstakingly went thru the whole process very thoroughly. Even it's ECU was replaced and every single or connection for LHD models works as they should. It was expensive but very worth it.

I can only give detailed response for centres that are currently issuin only the ENHANCED new e port, thats ikoyi lagos, abuja nd port harcourt
For this fresh e port u will need
1. Nin slip for baby
2. Nin slip for parent 1
3. Nin slip or driver’s licence for parent 2
4. Consent letter for baby’s port from parent 1, can be handwritten
5. Consent letter for baby’s port from parent 2, can be handwritten
6. Data page of international port for either parent
7. 2 port photographs
8. Acknowledgemnt slip
9. Payment slip
10. Application form print out.
11. Original birth certificate of child

How to proceed, you go online to the immigration portal , seek out fresh port
Fill out all necessary information till the end.
Have ur baby’s nin number because it will be asked for on the form.
Every body evn 1 day old baby must have nin to obtain new intl prt.
It is free and u can go early to their offices, with ur baby u will be attended to.
Print out the application form before goin on to the payment
Amount shown for new e port 32 pages is 25k, when u pay with ur card its total 26k
Then print out number 8 and 9 on the list.
Then proceed to the pasport office of ur choice with other above listed documents.
They will then tell u how to submit ur documents and day of ur interview/capturing.

For centres with less number, u can do all this in one day. Go also with originals of all documents bcus they must be sighted.

If mother has intl port bearing former name and is different from baby’s surname on birth cert, u should present with newspaper change of name, marriage certificate and court affidavit change of name attached to mother’s data page of intl port with former surname.

Someone should please help me on this.

First things first here.
Here are some questions for you:
1. has the radiator fans being working before now?
2. how did the mechanic know that the fuses were bridged(shorted)?

Was there any electrical glitches you were experiencing that led him to recommend replacing those fuses in the engine fuselage?

Here's what you'd do:
1. ask the mechanic to have a rechecked of all the fuses he put in there.
It might be that he has mistakenly caused the radiator fan fuse to be shorted mistakenly, thereby leading to an open circuit in the fan circuits.

2. Whilst trying to replaced e some of the fuses, he may have mistakenly caused one of the fan relays to shift from its location (this would happen, if the slot in which the relay fits into, is worn).
Ask him to properly try pushing in the relays in their slots with little effort.

3. Do not ever agree to anyone that tells you to remove your car's thermostat.
The thermostat jeeps your engine's operating temperature at the recommended threshold, in order to effect efficient operation of the engine, and the fluids in the car.


I hole this piece of suggestion helps you sort out the problem.

PS: My bet on this is that is either he mistakenly placed a low amperage fuse in there.
Ensure the recommended fuses were replaced.
Don't use a 7.5A fuse where a 20A fuse is required.
If you do, you'd get an open circuit problems (fan won't power up!).

Thank you very much. I have asked that he come back and recheck the fuselage for what has gone wrong since he is the one who worked on it.

And to your first question, the radiator fans have been working perfectly before the operation. There were some minor electrical glitches that prompted the replacement of some of the fuses like the side mirrors not working, the running light not coming on or misbehaving.

Dear Gurus in the house,

My mechanic worked on my engine yesterday. He changed the plugs, engine oil, filter. He also changed many fuses after he complained that most of my fuses are bridged and proposed that the fuses be changed.

After all the routine maintenance, my radiator fans does not kick in when engine is hot and AC does not cool (It picks and stops). Engine is overheating for the very first time since I bought the car.

I have attached an image of my fuse box. I'll appreciate if you guys can please help me check if anything was missed out in the fuse box.

I had to run the car this morning without the AC on to avoid overheating again.
