Whether na Lagos, Ogun, or Abuja dem bust the lab, na still the same Ndigbo people dey run am. No be today yansh dey for back.
Those arrested in Lagos over the years for setting up these illicit methamphethamine laboratories are specifically all from
Anambra State. Nnewi, Ozubulu, a few Obosi indigenes mainly!

They are the ones who brought the Colombians and Mexicans into Lagos in areas such as Ajao Estate, Satellite Town, Iba New Site, Anambra and Asaba to set up labs. These are the criminals claiming to be legit millionaire traders among the Ibos are the ones who destroyed young people in Imo State and other areas.

I was surprised to read the comments of one prominent Ibo guy who said the Ibos do NOT know who is behind
methamphetamine in Nigeria or Iboland and that he s the beating of those youths. But this information
has been in the public domain and newspapers for over 15 years now.

I get a sense that the Ibos are living a lie and they were even trying to say that it was the Mexicans that brought
meth to Nigeria in one article I read. It was those Anambra criminals that brought the Colombians and Mexicans to
Lagos, Anambra and Asaba to set up illegal meth laboratories. I am sure they have labs in Abuja, PH and Imo as well
and I want to call on Ibos to go after the Barons instead of flogging those small boys in Iboland.

Death penalty should be introduced too because these criminals have set up labs in underground rooms in their
houses and mansions in Lagos, Anambra and elseswhere.

1. UAE visa is cheap but the country is expensive and with so much Competition .

2. There is so much bad Image for Nigerian in UAE so you must be willing to do more of good conduct to enable you stand out.

3. UAE is not a country you come to with $100 BTA, the moment you drop from the airplane to the moment you receive your first salary is a whole lot of spending, so be prepared

4. 99% of the Jobs your agent promised you from Nigeria is not true, he may also be on overstay and doesn't care if you him/her.

5. Free accomodation is scarce in UAE, dont get angry when your friend or relative refuses to accommodate you, if you Intend to share with them, always agree properly, don't assume.

6. Your prospective employer has a different culture from you, always calm down to observe.

7. UAE has labour laws, get someone who knows to explain to you, don't act on information you gather online.

8. If you are a skilled worker, eg mechanic, mason, electrician, tiler etc, it's easier for you to get a job than he who comes with a master's degree in philosophy or business etc.

9. Always be sure you want a job before you take it , don't sign a job contract and abandon it mid-way, it may be the beginning of your predicament.

10. For those who get promises of visa and ticket to pay back when you get to UAE, there is a 99% chance that you are been exported for prostitution, in UAE prostitution is a CRIME and doesn't give you as much money as it does in Europe , so think twice when you get such offers.

11. If your main business is yahoo, no need to come except you have already made it big in Nigeria and you need a good environment where you can invest your money and have a good life.

12. Don't pay anyone hundreds of thousands of Naira to get a UAE visa with a promise of big job, if you have millions and must come to Dubai, get a one month visa and do a residence permit on arrival if you don't get a desired job.

13. Those who have a personal residence permit tend to get higher paying jobs than those who come with tourist visas and are on company residence permit.

14. You cannot rob a bank, do cultism etc and go free in UAE, there are cameras everywhere and the boarders are tight.

15. Once your visa expires, you loose all your legality and begin to pay overstay fines, avoid it if you can.

16. Shouting, fighting, protesting, illegal gathering, unauthorised photography, cultism are all prohibited in UAE, it will get you into trouble.

17. Not all businesses in UAE are doing well, some Pakistanis, Indians, Filipinos, Arabs etc you call Arbab/ sponsors are also struggling, they set up a company and employ you, they can mess up your stay if they can't proceed with your residence permit.

18. When a company employs you, size them up, evaluate their operations and check well if they are capable of paying salaries and issuing a residence permit, let me explain further; a new coffee shop in Umm Al Quain that employs 6 of you at same time and does not have enough customers may disappoint you, use your brain to avoid crying at last.

19. Starting a business for Nigerians is not as difficult as you hear, that's if you have the money, seek information.

20. UAE is not easy, guys work hard here, really hard.

I know it's only 6+ flight hours to be in the UK. Not been there, hoping to someday.

However, I know well two persons well enough in the UK (masters level) who are doing very fine. I know, heard and can affirm to you that you will be given 18 months work-stay after masters.

You can try other UK too Scotland or Northern Ireland. Even more cooler and less stricter than Britain.

If I were you, I would take the risk and try UK. You won't regret it if you succeeded in sweeping the board.
Yup! Especially those in the
STEM fields are doing well.

Which one of the Islands in Lagos
State are you refering to?

There's Ikoyi Island, Lagos Island, Victoria Island (Iruland is the current and original Yoruba nameof VI).

Be specific so that you can get the needed assistance from those who have something to offer.

Note:
Lekki is a Peninsula NOT an Island. Many new comers in Lagos State ignorantly refer to the entire Lekki Peninsula as an Island.

yes like Mandora rightly pointed out. Alliance is a very good place for someone with little or no knowledge of French to learn both speaking and writing of the language. Alliance Francaise has branches in many states in Nigeria: Owerri, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Port Harcourt, Lagos. Just the few I know. They also run a diploma course. All the best as you us in the knowledge of French.

Travelled to Abidjan from London for a Xmas/NY break. Arrived in Abidjan on 20th December.

Damn, the place is fire. They know how to enjoy themselves aplenty. I stayed with some Ivorian friends in Angre. I went to a friend's film screening in the Cultural Palace in Treichville and went to a number of bars/clubs in Marcory and Deux Plateaux.

The bars they have are called 'Maquis' which are free, play loud music, generally coupe decale, soukous and some naija pop. They drink a lot of alcohol, o'boy, I had to them fully in shakkin' their champagne and whisky. These people drink whisky wey scottish man hand never reach.

We reached maquis at nine pm, then left around midnight generally, then used to go to the VIP club.

LifestyleTonite:
Quickly check the picture below before reading this short piece.

Welcome back.

Laughing out so aloud in red pill language.

It's time for guys to sit down and tell themselves the truth too and not just sit around and slam girls.

Guys have issues too. Many of them look shapeless or out of shape, yet they want a damsel in their life. When a damsel turns them down because they don't look attractive, they start to pour out their frustration on all girls.

Some think everything has to do with money. They think once they get money, they can get any girl for themselves. That's true to some extent, but you cant get love with just money, just sex which is not as good as knowing you are loved to pieces by the opposite sex.

Money is a tool you use to walk up to love. You use money to hit the gym, eat good food and look fit. But some guys think just buying expensive clothes is what matters, disregarding the fact that they need the right physique to accentuate the clothes.

Look at Wizkid and Tems. Wizkid was snubbed on stage by Tems. Why? Man's too short and boyish. Place Trey Songs or Drake on stage with her, which is clearly a match, and watch her fall over them.

Half the time, some rich men are dating or married to women who don't find them sexually attractive, but they don't know. They think all that matters is giving her money. That they do until they realise that one jobless dude is not only sleeping with their woman but also using the money they give their woman to level up.

Guys, lack of money is not the only reason why you can't find a damsel to love you sincerely. The reason why girls don't love you or even notice you ing by is because you don't love yourself. Imagine guys between 20 and 40 already having potbelly with fat body like a woman. I bet you that the expensive clothes you will rock with that kind of body will look normal or abnormal on you, instead of having that dashing effect it had on the model that rocked it on the runway.

So, guys, instead of ing the gang of guys that bash girls on social media, why not the click of guys that would rather spend that moment working on themselves financially, spiritually, physically and emotionally?

Hit the gym today. A sexy and fit body will cover up your 'ugly face'. Once you start to work out with visible result, bet it that compliments will start to come your way. I'm a living example. I've always had a cute and handsome face, but I thought that was all I needed until I graduated and saw a decline in advances from ladies. That was when I decided to hit the gym and stay fit. Today, female colleagues, both single and married, do compliment me loudly. Male colleagues see me as an inspiration because I stand out from among them. Guess what I've become? I've become the kind of guy both men and women love. Such is whom ladies love, because ladies flock around who others flock around.

So, red pill guys, enough of female bashing, because to be honest, they owe you nothing. A they want in life is a high value man, not necessarily a rich man, but a man others ire without money attached to him.

The day I decided to love myself was the day I went to meet a carpenter and told him to make a local bench for me to use for bench press exercise. I worked out at home for two months before discovering that there was a gym close to my house, which I later ed in. Then I proceeded to get some workout suppliments. The day I stepped out to Ikeja City Mall to get one was the day I met the love of my life, a gorgeous light-skinned lady that looks like she got cropped out of a magazine. Did I mention that she loves me to pieces and calls me thrice a day with each calls lasting over an hour? She exhausts her airtime and immediately converts to Whatsapp call. The day I met her at ICM, I I was getting advances from ladies at the mall that day. Did I look rich? No. Did I look attractive? Yes.

Don't get me wrong, I don't look bulked up like Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I look fit and elegant with tones in the right places. I wish I could post pictures but it's not my style. Right now, I'm working on my finances and about to buy a landed property and work towards marriage next year. I'm also thinking about trippling my hustle next year.

Simply put, I spent my little money on myself by hitting the gym and enjoying myself. Same money would have gone into simping for a girl all in a bid to get her attention. These days, I don't hesitate to lavish on myself, buy nice and expensive shoes. So, I don't see it as a big deal to give my chick nice trips.

It's time for boys to learn to be men and stop whining like sissies. Work on yourself and the love you desire will be yours. Don't forget to pray to God too.

Start in this order:

Spiritually - read the Bible
Financially - work and save
Physically - hit the gym
Emotionally - don't let a lady's rejection or anything get on your nerves.

Peace guys

grin

A lot of people hit their local gym with the aim of getting those muscles and abs but the question is...Are they doing it the right way? It is one thing to develop a muscular frame and another to develop what is known as muscle mass and RETAIN IT! The latter is what Animal NITRO does PERFECTLY WELL! Animal Nitro is a pre/post workout supplement (NOT STEROID) that makes you get a perfect chiseled body only seen on professional body trainers and most men dream of.

Aminos are the basic building blocks of muscle.

Aminos can also trigger anabolism, the cornerstone of muscle growth. As a lifter, you need them, especially the right ones.

While there are nearly two dozen different amino acids, only a select few are absolutely essential for igniting the anabolic drive, as new research has shown.

Not surprisingly, these required aminos are the same ones found in human muscle protein.
Animal Nitro is the first and only supplement that contains the correct ratios of those aminos based on human muscle protein itself. This complex of aminos is appropriately called Human Muscle Protein Complex™ (HMPC™) and they’re only in Animal Nitro. HMPC™ consists of special “uncoupled” aminos exclusively – those that are free of the chemical bonds that can limit maximum utilization. By using only 100% uncoupled aminos in HMPC™, Animal Nitro delivers a precisely controlled dose of aminos that are “targeted” to efficiently enter systemic circulation through a novel amino transport system.

Here’s how it works...

Each pack consists of a measured 6,000mg dose of uncoupled aminos (HMPC™). Once ingested, they form a special bolus (a protective “mass”) that allows them to efficiently by the liver. Now this is vital as the liver captures and catabolizes regular amino acids (like those found in protein powders such as whey and more conventional amino supplements) to urea, a waste product.
Once safely past the liver, this bolus of uncoupled aminos enters systemic circulation, where they can exert their powerful pharmacological actions–vasodilation and anabolism.

When combined with resistance training, Animal Nitro can actually help your body deliver more nutrients to your working muscles, recover more quickly, and build new muscle mass by enhancing protein synthesis, improving net muscle protein balance, and preventing muscle breakdown. Gram for gram, nothing is as pure, as efficient, as potent, and as effective as Animal Nitro.
It’s the gold standard among amino-based supplements.

How to ister: When lifting, there is a critical 4-hour anabolic "window of opportunity" that exists. To take advantage of this window, take 1 pack of Animal Nitro within 30 minutes following resistance training.

For better results, take 2 packs daily --the first immediately before lifting, and the second within 30 minutes after.

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain ecosystem, will hold its first offline event for crypto enthusiasts in Cameroon as it continues its mission to increase the freedom of money, drive blockchain adoption and enable greater financial accessibility for Africans.
On December 4, 2021 and December 11, 2021, the blockchain giant will take its efforts to two major cities in Cameroon; Yaounde and Douala.

As a leader in blockchain education, Binance continues to ensure crypto enthusiasts have access to the right information about the workings of the ecosystem. Its education series aimed at increasing crypto literacy in Africa, The Binance Masterclass , kicked off in January 2020, providing education ranging from crypto trading to careers in blockchain. Since then, Binance has provided free crypto education to over 400,000 Africans. By the end of 2020, over 70,000 Africans were educated in the first year of the launch of the Masterclass. Binance has since doubled down on its efforts, providing education resources to over 177,000 Africans in Q1 2021 and over 179,500 in Q2 2021.

Details of the events taking place in Cameroon:

Yaoundé: December 4th, 9am -2pm, @ Aurelia Palace, Nylon Bastos

Douala: December 11th, 9am – 2pm, @ Serena Hotel, Akwa Nord

Attendees will be ed by local entrepreneur and blockchain enthusiast, Junie Maffock, to learn about the fundamentals of blockchain, the Binance ecosystem, how to set up a Binance , trading fundamentals and much more. There will also be fun, engaging games and a giveaway.

However, this is not the first of Binance’s education efforts in Francophone Africa. In July 2021, Binance hosted its first-ever masterclass dedicated to French-speaking Africans, indicating the kick-off of its crypto education efforts in the region. The masterclass saw over 3,900 crypto beginners learning about blockchain basics, the easiest ways to buy and sell cryptocurrencies and how to make ive or active income. Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain ecosystem, also hosted newbie walkthroughs, a webinar series for beginners aimed at providing an introduction to cryptocurrency and interactive webinars across the region.

In September 2021, Binance hosted a trading boot camp for crypto enthusiasts across Francophone Africa. The masterclass equipped over 17,400 people with trading skills and an understanding of how it works in simple . At present, over 25,000 people have benefitted from the Francophone focused education efforts.

“The African continent holds some unique opportunities for cryptocurrency adoption and development. As such, we see blockchain education as vital in actualising these opportunities. It is also clear that the potential of Francophone Africa to be a core part of this development is endless and we are committed to ensuring that more people have access to the right information.” said Carine Dikambi, Francophone Africa Lead at Binance.

People ...so I was watching Daddy Freeze's visit
to Linda Ikeji on Youtube where both went on a drive in her new Bentley Mulsane and during the discussions that ensued, Linda could be heard saying aside her Banana island Mansion, she doesn't own or believe in owning landed properties because if you buy one in say Lekki for hundreds of millions, and you rent it out, the money you realize from it is barely above what she makes in a day so why invest.

My question is why would anyone invest in a depreciating asset in favour of one that can appreciate over the years? What she doesn't understand is that the rent she would be collecting is not to repay the investment made but rather some sort of dividend/interest on the investment yearly while the value of the property appreciates over time. I'm sadden that no one seem to be pointing this out to her.

With posh cars ....you risk bashing it in seconds, getting it stolen, mechanical issues and so on. You don't get paid driving it but rather you spend money driving it (repairs, maintenance, fueling and insurance etc). BTW she's looking at buying the latest Mercedes Benz Maverick undecided

Like they say ...its her money and she can do whatever she likes with it but many are looking up to her as role model, she needs to guide them buh ....people wee now say this is bad belle, make i stay in my own lane.

People ....what are your takes on this - Landed Properties or Posh Cars? Lets stay woke this 2019!!!

This guy will just use some people's intellect to play ludo. When the CBN ban crypto transactions everyone was just shouting and criticising the government few weeks later china also banned it and bitcoin crashed making people to loose money. And recently, there are calls from different nations about regulating crpto.

Sometimes no matter how much you hate the government, you just have to have faith in them regarding some issues because they are more informed in some aspect.
Word!

China has already banned and expelled crypto miners in that country as well.

In Britain, the regulatory
authorities restricted Binance
UK from operating for not meeting
specified conditions, so the investors and traders could not fund and
withdraw from Binance to their
UK bank s.

… A daughter re an accomplished and beloved father
Maria Abimbola Akintola

Growing up I came to behold my daddy Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola as a colossus. In my infant eyes he was full of life, very effervescent and I had, in my child like innocence, thought that he will be around forever. My father was my personal hero and my world, to an extent, revolved around him. I grew up knowing him as a wonderful father, teacher, counselor and friend who helped everyone around him to be a better person.

Akintola the man that I know was sagacious, personable, erudite, urbane, suave, industrious, energetic and intelligent. He was a great organizer, talented mobilizer, an outstanding orator and a man of the people in the truest sense of the word. These attributes made him a very successful politician.

As a politician he had friends and foes in legion but his main pre-occupation was a united Nigeria in which every tribe especially his beloved Yoruba race will partake in the common patrimony as equals.
Fifty years after his age, I still reminiscence of a father with a heart of gold, one who could hardly hurt a fly and who refused to pay his opponent in their own coin even when political exigencies demanded just that. Often times, I marvel at the concerted demonization of his memory for political pottage. At such times I am reminded of the old story as recounted by the Nigerian nationalist and prolific author Mokwugo Okoye of the great Athenian general and statesman, Aristides, hero of the Marathon War, noted for his valour, incorruptibility and magnanimity and nicknamed The Just.

When out of his rival, the venal Themistocles’ machination, he was banished from his country by the ostracism that was the bane of Ancient Greece, Aristides met an illiterate citizen who, not knowing his identity, wanted him to inscribe “Aristides” on the shell which he wanted to vote for the general’s banishment. The latter asked him “Whether Aristides had ever injured him?” The dutiful burgher replied in the negative, adding “nor do I even know him, but it vexes me to hear him everywhere called the Just.” The great man, we are assured by Plutarch in his Lives of Greek Heroes, said nothing but inscribed his own name on the “ballot paper” as he was directed and later suffered his banishment, praying as he left Athens “that the people of Athens might never see the day which should force them to Aristides.”

But his prayer was signally unanswered and three years later Xerxes of Persia, terror of the Greek world, was at the gates of Athens with his grand armada, which obliged the frightened citizens of the city of culture to revoke their decrees of vengeance: all the exiles were recalled, and subsequently Aristides, now reconciled with Themistocles, distinguished himself at the Battles of Salamis and Platea. Unlike Aristides my father did not have a second chance as he was brutally murdered by a band of misguided and mutinous soldiers on January 15, 1966. Like Aristides’ illiterate voter, many of the writers, politicians, carpetbaggers and renegades who calumniate the memory of my father could not claim to have been offended by my father or even to have known him closely; yet when it became expedient and their Themistocles sounded the battle cry and accused him of all sorts of crimes, they sheepishly cast their votes with scurrilous castigation and venomous damnation of his memory and his place in history.

Thank goodness history is hardly partial and there still abound in Nigeria men of goodwill and good conscience. I am re-assured by the resurgence of unbiased record, review and analysis of my father’s place in history even as I remain amused by the apparent consternation of some dye in wool partisans who still cling to distorted facts. Lord Acton, a celebrated British historian while quoting an Italian counterpart noted that “the gods have placed upon the earth two judges of human actions; conscience and history”. While people are left to live with their conscience, the verdict of history remains forthright and palpable. The facts of history are clear. My father was a prominent lawyer in his time. He was an accomplished teacher, frontline journalist, first Nigeria Minister of Labour, Minister of Health, Minister of Communications, first leader of opposition in the Federal House of Representatives, 13th Are Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, brilliant parliamentarian, astute , nationalist, Patriot, Statesman and Visionary.

National treasures like the National Stadium in Lagos, Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Ikeja industrial estate, Surulere Housing estate etc. bespeak the deft touches of his istrative acumen and his ingenuity as a parliamentarian. Historians are settled on his preeminent role in the fight for the nation’s independence and his prodigious contribution to post independent Nigeria. No amount of later day red herring will obliterate the facts.
As ebullient as they come, my father was soft at heart.

A good family man, he dotted on the love of his life and only wife; my dearly beloved mother Chief Mrs. Faderera Abeke Akintola (of blessed memory) with whom he bore five children. He loved his children equally and for different reasons largely based on unique attributes specific to each child. The last of his children Olatokunbo till his death in 1973 was “the soul of the family” and had earlier achieved fame as the first African to attend the highly regarded British public school Eton College. A large-hearted man he extended unaccustomed benevolence to his family, friends and associates as well as charity and goodwill to all men.

Most times when I think of my father, I often ruminate on the import of the inspiring onition of Rudyard Kipling in the inimitable poem IF. “If you can keep head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or, being hated, don’t give way to hating,

And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise; If you can dream – and not make dreams your master; If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two imposters just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build ‘em up with worn out tools; If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your hearth and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you.

Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on,” If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings – nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run--- Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And – which is more - you’ll be a Man my son!”
The poem could have been more than enough consolation only if my father was alive to share it with not just me but with all his loved ones today January 15, 2016. But since he is no longer around to share in the witty cadence of the ennobling verses so meticulously weaved together by Kipling, I shall continue to read alone and reminiscence on the time we shared together; precious time, now distant in memory, yet ever-green.

Nokia has lost trust with many of it's fans especially in it's mobile phone sector. The Nokia we are used to no longer represents it's distinctive quality especially as it continues to loose market shares in Nigeria and other African markets.

There are millions of mobile phones scrambling for Africa market shares with high-end build at cheaper prices which stand shoulder to shoulder with the big names in the industry. I was hoping Nokia Will tow this path to once again win the heart of it lost fans when it launched the Nokia T20 Tab on 24th of Nov. 2021in Nigeria.

I use the Airtel modem. Their 40gb plan lasts me around 15-18 days. I don't even know why. The modem is pretty fast though, lightening speed data. I think that's the reason.
2.22gb to 2.66gb per day usage
in 15-18 days on 40gb monthly
plan... Insightful.

Yams did not come to Africa from South America.

Not true
Dioscorea cayenensis
Dioscorea cayenensis

Are NATIVE TO AFRICA

Were you a chef on a slave Ship?

How do you know they were fed yam?

Was it pounded yam or fried Yam?

Please do not say things that you just made up as if you saw a video

I know for a fact they were fed Indomie with Suya
@aribisala0

Ogbeni, I'm NOT making anything
up here! I have a vast knowledge
of world history and I've been a collector of a broad range of major historical books since the early 1980s.

"Chef" on a slave Schooner
ke? Lol grin

Okay, one of the older history books in my collection clearly states some
of the foods (such as boiled yams) that captives were occasionally fed with on the slave Ships.

Another book I read under the
Asanti Empire made reference to the NEW YAM festival that took
place in Asantiland in the 1800s which was recorded by some European visitors.

New Yam festivals are also
celebrated from time immemorial
in Yorubaland and by other ethnicities! This clearly shows
the importance of yams in the
cultural ascendancy of some
West African groups.

NOTE:
I was already correcting the unintended error in my post (which an NL poster had kindly pointed out to me) when your NL mention also appeared. I didn't proofread that yam origin part of my post properly before posting because I was in a rush. Lessons learned.

You are absolutely correct that
yams are native to Africa.

Yam species are also NATIVE to
Asia, South America and the
Caribbean.

Gracias.

Airtel doesn't seem to respect the DND policy.
I've activated it and yet I get their calls every week.
On Tuesday, they called with 08127577220..which I didn't pick..
Then on Wednesday, they called with 08127577221.

Their pattern is to change the number each time so that even if you blocked the previous one with an app like truecaller, the next numbers will continue to dodge the app since its not blocked there.

Its really painful expecting an important call only to meet this trash most times.
NCC should wake up, empower the subscribers to be eligible for a substantial financial settlement once these telcos err and let's see if these trash won't stop.

Bishop Ajayi Crowther was as indigene of Osogun near Iseyin in Oyo State

Cassava came to Nigeria from South America and Lagos had an entire Brazilian Quarters with thousands of returnee (ex) slaves
True... Cassava came to Africa from South America. However, yams are native to Africa, Asia, South America Yams and cassava were part of the foods used to feed captives on the notorious slave ships
based on the history books I've read.

Many returnee "formerly" enslaved
Yorubas from Brazil and Cuba in the 1800s settled in the Campos Square and Popo Aguda areas of Lagos Island.

Some of the Yoruba-Brazilian/Yoruba-Cuban returnees were the first adherants of the catholic religion in modern Nigeria, before French catholic missionaries first moved to Onitsha based on archival documents.

Nigeria's first pound millionaire was Candido Da Rocha. His Ijesa-Yoruba family returned from Bahia in Brazil in the late 1800s.

Many Yoruba returnees in the 1800s from Sierra Leone like Ajayi Crowther, and Desmond Elliot's
paternal ancestor, (or the Vaughan and Jackson families who returned to Yorubaland from the U.S. after first settling in Liberia) settled finally in the
Ebute-Meta and/or Olowogbowo area of Lagos Island.
