I visited my old thread and came across your link. It gladdens me to know that someone I know (albeit on nairaland) has land at Shimawa and is building on it. We ended up buying land there. We don't have any immediate plans to develop it but time will tell. Thank you for your updates.

Calling on all the property gurus in the house - Spyder, EgunMogaji, twinskenny, Hajji et al. We are in the midst of buying tiles, and the market is filled with too many brands of both made in Naija and made outside Naija tiles. What brand of made in Nigeria tile do you recommend for use in an owner-occupied residential property ie not a rental? Thanks.

I agree. It’s been over a year since this idea was initiated and a lot has changed since then. An agreement needs to be in place before deposits.

I've not heard what I've been waiting for. They sent another independent monitor, I guess he's submitted his report. Then, another monitor, from a private company carrying out survey for GEM/World Bank also came knocking. At the end, I was given a souvenir and certificate of participation in survey . So, my sister, I can't say there was no , but the second tranche remains elusive. May God help me.

Of course, I meant the second tranche. That's the only communication that matters . Hopefully, that communication will come soonest.

Still haven't heard from GEM? Na real waa!

I received an email that I was due to submit my second report in the bigportal dashboard. This was less than one month after 2nd tranche disbursement. Per email, ""This is in line with the 90 days after receipt of second tranche" requirement for submission of the second report" So If I take them by their words, I have over 60 days to submit.

We've just got a mail that our receipts were incomplete. OMG!! Our receipts were far above the total 1st tranche payment.

What other Receipts GEM PWC wants us to send again, after we've sent a complete documentation of milestones expenses incurred.

We are totally frustrated after we have spent our time, energy and resources to sustain our business to this level and they are still requesting for documents already sent. is this another form of delaying method to prolong our second tranche payment. GEM PWC should bear in mind that our businesses are seasonal, and during the raining season we might make lower or no sales at all.

I regret being an entrepreneur in this country. The system and the people who are their to you will frustrate you out of business. Instead of making more income, We are in the mercy of income; looking at the money we should be generating: wasting away because of 2nd Tranche disbursement. Thank to GEM PWC for proving us wrong as an entrepreneur, that we can't succeed with their fund.

At least yours was incomplete. They claimed they never received mine even after I sent them proof of delivery and receipt. Your vent is justified. However, myvadvice to you is to resend everything. I did mine by email. The sooner, the better. It took them over three months to review the receipts and disburse my second tranche. Good luck.

They are still talking plenty o. That they are considering sending monitoring team again to inspect some businesses.

Which business? Mine hasn't even started. The first tranche was for construction et al. The second one was to get the business up and running. All potential employees I interviewed have moved on because they could not wait anymore.

If anyone has a godfather/mother/brother/sister with GEM, can you please them for an update on our behalf? I don them tire, no response. I doubt GEM cares whether my business begins production.
