Like other posters above me, I cannot stress these two points enough :

1. Don't borrow money to do your wedding

2. Never spend all the money you have to do a wedding. There's life after wedding.

So, my opinion (from my personal experience), just go to her village and pay her bride price, with family only.

No friends, just your nuclear family and her nuclear family.

No extended family.

As for the white wedding, I'm not a church person, so I didn't bother about that.

Saved myself a lot of money.
