President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ayo Oritsejafor and
Alhaji Mujahideen Asari-Dokubo has been cleared of complicity in the
botched $9.3 million arms deal by a special team tasked with getting facts
on the issue.
According to PRNigeria,
citing ‘authoritative sources’, the cleared the duo and dismissed
allegations that Dokubo was on the aircraft which ferried the cash into South
Africa. The aircraft belongs to Oritsejafor, who denied knowing anything
about the arms deal as he had leased the aircraft out.
“A special team, comprising security agents, intelligence experts and officials
of the ministry of foreign affairs has investigated the $9.3 million cash-for-
arms deal and submitted its report to the presidency.
“The committee confirmed that the President of the Christian Association of
Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, had no connection with the transaction.
“It was true that the CAN president’s jet was used but we found out that it
was without his knowledge. As at the time in question, the aircraft was on
lease. And you may be aware that the lease trend is peculiar to private jet
owners in the country.
“It is the view of the committee that Oritsejafor cannot be held liable for any
shuttle made by a lease firm.
“As for the manifest of the plane, the committee also discovered that the
Niger Delta activist, Mujaheedin Asari-Dokubo, was not among those on
board the transaction aircraft. There was no mention of Dokubo in the
manifest presented during the investigation,” PRNigeria reported.

A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Ezemagu Nnamdi has made
President Goodluck Jonathan happy after donating N10,000 towards the
president’s re-election bid.
The President’s excitement was expressed in a statement issued by Dr Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity in Abuja. Abati said that Jonathan was deeply touched and encouraged by the immense from Nigerians in a letter to the young Nigerian identified as the donor, currently serving.
The President was quoted as saying he would continue to count on the

best possible leadership to the country.

elections on Thursday.
The President also welcomed Nnamdi’s expression of faith in Federal
Government’s ongoing efforts to reposition the country for sustained growth
and development. He assured the NYSC member and other young Nigerians
that he would continue to do his best in the service of the nation in keeping
with their trust and expectations.
In a letter accompanying his donation, Nnamdi was said to have assured
Jonathan of the continued of patriotic Nigerians and urged him to
seek re-election in 2015.
He said “Nigerians are behind you. We see your good works in power,
transportation, education, housing, ICT, sports, electoral reforms, observation
of the principle of federal character and the creation of investment
opportunities.
“The insurgents who are trying to destabilise your istration are
