29kobo: You miss the point on tax. Who says Nigerians dont pay tax. That's quite funny. What is the IGR on the crude export even before the hullabaloo about the crash in price or removal of subsidy? How are the accruals spent. The problem is that we don't ask necessary questions. How much does the FIRS generate from CITA alone and how much goes back to the covers of government? How much is spent capital and how much on recurrent expenditure? The revenue on crude alone can achieve whatever Europe has achieved on infrastructure and it's sanity. Are you kidding me? My PAYE alone is 100% of my entire earning and yet we don't pay tax. When you say UK universities generate funding from school fees I laugh again. Nigerian university had long sought for autonomy but same government has severally kicked against it. Scholarship schemes in foreign schools are created by private individuals and coalition groups. This is the major ways education is being funded abroad. Fees are subsidised for citizens and facilities are taken care of. Research grants here and there do not come from students fees. They are created from different projects enabled by government and different agencies. The problem here is that the police makers either so not understand how education runs successfully in this age or they deliberately ignore same. TETFUND takes care if the tax you are talking about but how are the trillikns in Tetfund being spent. It is under the presidency. A source even said that TETFUND is the second most corrupt agency in Nigeria after NNPC. Leadership problems, graft and somehow ignorance are the bane of sustainable development in Nigeria. |

Warlord12: While agreeing that university education is not for everyone, the statement on maintenance culture being a duty on the alone smacks of classified ignorance. In saner climes, you award almost same amount that erected a public building on maintenance. Roads are taken care of in the same way. That is why you cannot see a single pothole in some countries' roads. In Nigeria, you are building a state of the art public edifice which the tiles alone require certain chemicals for maintenance and the septic pipes need biennial reinforcement. No one cares again after handing same over. Come back after 2 yeas, the building is already a shadow of itself. You hand over a 30 billion ashfault road to FERMA that has only local bitumen and blasted granite stones. Pls is there anything really wrong with the black man? Or are all these just as a result of graft? Then on the 1.3 trillion, ASUU in not insensitive, government is. This same gradual enforcement is what dragged this matter till now. There have been leverages and concessions handed out by ASUU for government to gradually implement their own side of the bargain. But after the talk, they will just put their back. Spend a chunk of budgets funding themselves, diverting a chunk of it and sending their children abroad. Who is fooling who. Umahi should ask necessary questions before spewing trash |

Realist12: I am shocked that people still campaign for Tinubu. Are you kidding me. My friend you have been left behind. We have ed stage of comparing achievements. We are now talking of fitness. Let him come for formidable interview or debate, to maybe convince us about his fitness. I don't talk health cos that will be uncomplimentary. He can't do this job bro. I am a Yoruba man. If we had probably succeeded in fielding Osinbajo, I will even commit my funds to his campaign. You can't be young forever, youi might think you are just campaigning for your kinsman but bear in mind that all our deeds that look insignificant will find us out on the day of reckoning. Do you have children in this country? Have you thought if the state of the nation and their future or they will all japa as well? . It's worrisome how we see this politicking. Have we not fooled around for so long? I am not saying that Peter Obi is the messiah, but who else in the comity of the candidates? Let's stop this subjugation of our consciences. |

Icartaway: If you have had problems with these indiscriminate bumps, you will understand what that guy said. Nigeria is the only place where people just wake up and erect bumps on public roads. And worse still there is never a sign warning motorists about the pumps. What happens to speed brakes that which are more appropriate. My Jeep me neatly somersaulted due to one senseless bump just after lokoja while coming into Abuja. Everyone that drives along that route should know that spot. It's on a bend and just after a very deep slope. If have also driven along those Ejule Ikeje Igah axis, those mud houses along the road, you will understand the difference between bumps and wickedness. Drive in the night on Nigerian roads without exercising due cautions, bumps will teach you ugly lessons. We act as if there are no regulations here 2 Likes |

On the 28th July, I think it was the last Arik plane from Portharcourt to Abuja. Mid air, turbulence was announced and shortly after that, the plane literarily dived to a dept that made the enger quake and adjust for safety. They muttered different prayers and shortly after the plane continued smooth cruising, people were piling up to the plane's toilet. After landing at the airport, the Arrivals toilet was also filled up by same engers. A friend ( a pilot that flies private planes) sent text to me telling me that the pilot of that Arik plane told him that engers didn't know that God saved them. That the plane was almost 'plucked' off the skies. May we stay safe especially now that people avoid road transport 4 Likes |

adenigga: Did you see what I'm saying about sectional journalism against Peter Obi. And if care is not taken, I will boycott this forum. Why did they skip the section where Pastor Ibiyemi told the congregation not to vote the man that wears diapers? And where the video ? Is it difficult to post here? If this news is against Peter Obi, the caption will say it all. |

dre11: You guys are simply dumb. The fact check caption is just no longer appealing to the readers because they know the outcome of your findings without reading the ing facts. So, instead of the redundant rhetorics, it's better you reflect your ramblings in your caption. Put it straight that the claim is false and then state your facts in the piece. So so and so didn't happen, simple. Cos I have never seen where your fact check ed a particular claim. There is no fancy in your caption any longer and you are losing your readers. C'mon, who is your employer ? |
