It's not even advisable to run when a Bear is chasing you because it's known that the average bear can outrun horses....
It is not humanly possible to outrun a bear.
It's not advisable to run because you can never outrun a charging bear. Bears can reach an average speed of 30 miles per hour, they are that fast.
When you confront a bear, don't run. Stop whatever you are doing and stay as still as possible. Adopt a very peaceful and harmless posture so it doesn't see you as a threat. Once the bear sees you are not a threat it will move away. A bear will only attack you if it thinks you are a threat

How is feminism stopping her from getting married
Not feminism but TOXIC FEMINISM. The former has to do with equal rights for both sexes just as you practice while the latter is strictly MEN HATING which is just off.
Nairaland is now full of of kids, your father is an idiot for bringing up a dumb head like you. You know a fool and a slave by their low IQ. Dirty slave.
This is low bro, too low. Insult the dude directly and never bring his parents into it.
It's a pity how some of you rationalize all nonsense and foolishness of the istration.
You seem to be taking this personal with the double mentions. We are different beings so you don't expect us to have the same mindset.
As rational beings we should look critically at what one is saying even if the opinions are quite contrary from yours. You might have a point that there's some information we do not know, so also you have to agree as well that you are not privy to all information. Cheers.
The Ikwerre people are indigenous people of Rivers State and have been in Rivers state longer the longest. This Benin story is only correct for some Ahoada clans in Rivers state, and was stupidly been peddled by some uninformed ikwerre politicians and sadly this is now being peddled by some learned people who are too lazy to research their own history.
My great grand father was an educated man, and was a custodian of our peoples culture in rivers state, I will share some of that knowledge with anyone listening.
There was nothing understood to be igbo tribe amongst the igboic speaking before the formation of Nigeria. Anyone who understood igbo especially igboic speaking people would just say I understand igbo and then say the name of their clan.
The people who reffered to them as igbo would be people from far away from the old eastern region as most people of the now SS would understand and speak some igbo as a second language as well as the language was an important language for business The only reason why we are all hearing igbo this or igbo that is because of the creation of Nigeria, the people who are igbo speaking bought and sold theirselves for centuries, and never found it necessary to see themselves alike. So for all the hatred igbos have on nigeria, just know that Nigeria is best thing to happen to igbo people, it brought igbo people together (atleast for now, all the SE states together)
In the past the Aros considered their selves to be superior to every other clan in their trade route, other clans like the Nri also thought themselves to be superior as well.
The people who call themselves ikwerre today are actually of diverse origin, Ikwerre land being the last part of the igboic hinterland before the creeks/ocean was settled by different people from different places who came to cash out from the booming slave trade, back then it was easy to get slaves from igboland as their people were in large numbers and they had caste system.
The original Ikwerres were the most powerful igboic people east of the niger and the biggest slave dealers, hence the name iwhurunoha which means in the presence of the greatest men, they were mostly warriors and slave kidnappers who were also into kingdom building and empire advancement which explains the vast amount of land owned by the ikwerres today . Their people controlled the Aro confederacy at a point before their king was dethroned by other warring clans. The original ikwerre people are actually an off shoot of ngwa people, but ikwerreland was inhabited by people from all over. Before the Nigeria/ Nigerian civil war no ikwerre person would take offense with being called igbo, hell, no one would actually introduce theirselve as an igbo man, that would have seem as vague as saying I am african. If you called a person who spoke igbo an igboman, they would not dispute it, as it would basically be understood as a person who can speak igbo, this is true for so many tribes in the SS that are now understood not to be igbo people.
Today, most ikwerre people do not know that a major part of current imo state is ikwerre land, and the ohaji people, egbema people are also ikwere people, and that in their midst are actual people from igbo hinterland who came and settled their. They may only know the Aro Osu people who came in the early 1900s.
I am asking all learned ikwerres to resist the history twisting which bad politicians and bad leaders are trying to use to make them foreigners in the very land that their forefathers were birthed to, fought for and defended.
They can argue that ikwerre wants to be seen as a distinct ethnicity as igbos,(for which I wouldnt see the benefit) but dont let some few selfish people get away with arm twisiting your history for their personal gains, and declaring you non indigenes to a land that you are truly indigenous to.
As a matter of facr if there is any igboic speaking clan that would be argued as the originator/progenator of igbo language and culture, it would be the ikwerre people and the Isu people of imo and anambra state. Because from my findings, the igbo clans in Abia have ancestral ties with the efiks and the ibibios, the Nsukka people have theirs with the the Idoma people. the ebonyi people have their with the ogoja people of cross river, the nothern Anambras and some anioma people have theirs with the igalas, the nothern aniomas have theirs with the binis. The Ikwerres do not have any ancestral ties to any other known group, rather they dominated the lifestyle in the creeks and are responsible for introducing igbo centric cultures to my people in the creeks, when my great grandparents were talking about igbo people they were doing business with from the hinterland, they were actually talking about the Ikwerres, most riverine communities in Rivers state know the ikwerre people as Igbo people according to history.
Now this is the nairaland I knew years back before returning home and deciding to an in 2017. Maximum respect chief. You finish work
Richy4: That is just barbaric for them to do that to a 16 year old whom the law considered as a minor...
They don't even know the reason the child ed on...The family has already carried out an instant mouth Autopsy report immediately within few mins ...
What then happened if a post-mortem examination is carried out and what they thought, was not actually what it was...
My thoughts exactly.
Just imagine the speed with which the villagers concluded that the girl killed the child with the poisoned leaf. How sure are we that the child really said the girl gave him the poisoned leaf before he died?
It all depends on how it's security settings... Like me for instant, I can't access my Google on any other device if my phone isn't with me because I have to authenticate with my phone.
There are so many ways you can authenticate your on another device without having your phone with you. And you need to set this up on your original Google security settings page. Once it's set up you can authenticate by email, by having a code sent to your phone number, by having codes sent to any phone or tablet you have your set up on etc etc. There are other different ways you can do this even without having your phone on you.

hahahaha ok sorry for the insults but how on earth will you post a link from Edo and expect them to put historical facts that those not suit their narratives. Let me educate you further on historical events. Bellow is a video documentary done by British also narrating the work of a German anthropologist who made some findings, now pay attention to the video and extra attention to the video from the clip 4:00mins where he stated clearly that the oral traditions from the Binins of that era told them that they learn their bronze casting skills from the people of Ile Ife. See when it comes to saying the truth in regards to past events the white are always honest that is why White Americans will tell the truth that America is a land of Immigrants. This video, was not done by the Yorubas neither did the Yorubas narrated that Binins learnt bronze casting from Ile Ife, it was actually narrated by the Binis theirselve the honest ones in those days not this one of this era trying to twist history.
Some good points there and the video helped as well.
There are so many conflicting stories hovering around concerning the true origins of the Bini and Yoruba kingdoms and this is where the confusion comes from.
jneutron4000:
You are daft you put a stupid page controlled by edoworld.net and expect historical truth that will not favour their narratives to be there . Go and read about what the Great historian Herodotus wrote about Ile Ife then you will know that Ile Ife gave birth to Benin Kingdom and Oyo empire.
You are more daft for replying with insults. Only a slowpoke es information with insults.
It's really sad the level nairaland has fallen to. People become filled with so much negative emotions easily and this shows in the way they reply innocent posts with insults.
It's the reason why some old timers don't make posts or comment anymore.
OSU is not just people who ran to idol for protection.
If you were a slave and returned, you're no longer a freeborn.
Stop quoting Wikipedia for me.
but I need to with Wikipedia, that's how we learn. Though some of your points like them being slaves or identified as slaves has some truths in them.
I have always wondered why the OSUS are so hated in the east. At least I have some knowledge of that now. So being my humble self I say thanks for the knowledge
It's true, before Nigeria become present, most the South had some form of powerful relationship. How would you know when you didn't exist, and when they brainwashed your great grandparents in the civil war.
I know because I've seen it, and not through books.
Some of those who returned are the OSU we know today.
If you were once a slave and given a slave mark, you can never be a freeborn in those days, even if you return.
That's the reason why those people refused to return or identify with Igbos.
I don't blame them.
Please stop saying what you don't know. We are all in this forum to learn from eachother and not to get wrong information
