I am new to investing and based on the information on this thread, I ed with Stanbic MMF. They sent me Blunest details. I went through the Blunest portal on Friday 11. I sent 5k to the wallet on the Blunest portal to test things out. The money was debited from my First bank but never reflected in the Blunest wallet . I have sent a complaint on the app and even on Twitter. The Stanbic on Twitter asked me to wait 24 hours. It is now more than 24 hours, yet the Blunest was never credited. Please, can someone advise?

Give them 24 business/working hours. You made the transaction on a Friday. Be patient. This is still sunday. It should reflect before close of business on Monday.

Hmmm, I feel stanbic is taking advantage of its market dominance because moving funds across MMFs is a hassle. Investors should be able to transfer funds directly between MMFs without first withdrawing to a bank . The main hurdle is settlement, but a T+1/T+2 system or a central clearing mechanism could fix that. If SEC allows seamless transfers, competition will force fund managers to keep rates competitive. Meanwhile anyone with the rates of other MMFs (especially Bank d ones) should pls share.

All sec ed. Prices today:

TrustBanc mmf 21.11%
United Capital 21.29%
Fsdh's Coral mmf 22.33%
Afrinvest plutus 18.88%
Meristem mmf 21.27%
ARM money mf 22.72%
Stanbic ibtc mmf 21.02%
Vetiva money mf 21.13%
Zedcrest wealth 21.68%
Cowrywise mmf 22.87%

This is the lowest ARM has been in over a week now. It was 22.87 for 3 days straight a few days ago. Of course there are still so many not on this list.

Did you eventually try Zedcrest Wealth or get info about their mmf?

So I decided to try Zedcrest Wealth myself to check out their mutual funds. They offer naira and dollar savings, and treasury bills as well. But my main interest was the mutual funds. And so far they offer a Money Market Fund, and a Fixed Income Fund.

The money market fund has fair interest rate and was above 22% since I put some money in it. Was at 23.44% when I invested, and is at 22.90% today. Was 22.18% yesterday.

Then I tried their fixed income fund out of curiosity cos it had 9.62% YTD. Oh boy, since I funded that one, the money just kept decreasing and increasing slightly but never went above what I actually put there. And the YTD has dropped to 9.12%. So do that one at your own risk.

Now, where they shine. I was discouraged and sold my fixed income fund units. I lost just N23. The sale was instant. My wallet was credited immediately. And I immediately withdrew the funds into my ed bank and my gt was credited within 2 minutes. The whole process of selling my fixed income fund units and my funds entering my Gtb took nothing more than 5 minutes total. That was impressive to me cos some fund managers take a whole 24 hrs to process withdrawal.

Pros: instant sale of units, instant withdrawal, withdrawal can only be made into a commercial bank ed to your bvn and in your own name. In all this since ing, I didn't have to customer care once. *Forgot to add, no top-up or withdrawal fee wen funding into or withdrawing your funds from your wallet.

Cons: omo, don't try their fixed income fund if you don't have high risk appetite abeg.

Anyway, wanted to share my review cos I can't find any customer reviews on zedcrest here.

What of piggyvest, are they sec satisfied and insured?

Piggyvest is sec licensed too. Pocket, their subsidiary, is ndic insured. Not sure up to how much though.

Please does anyone have experience with Stanbic ibtc Guaranteed Investment Fund (SiGif)? Sounds like a safer alternative to the balanced fund with only 10% total allocated to equities and guaranteed return of capital. Can't find much from people who have invested in it.

so I top up 1m, they would charge over 50,000 for the top up

Ha, noo oooo. From 10k and above, top up is processed at N250 flat. and that's for top up via bank transfer. Which is how I did it. They also have the card option to top up but that one is about 1k-2k processing fee. I've funded the acct only once on my birthday cos they gave me free top up as birthday gift. That's my only issue with them.

Can anyone talk on Cowrywise and the likes? Even tho the money is held by custodians. E.g cowry uses Zenith custodians by zenith bank.

Anyone has idea on safety, also they are sec licenses

Cowrywise is sec licensed. But they don't have nice rates for regular savings or fixed deposit. Where they shine is their emergency savings and mutual funds. They have their own Cowrywise money market portfolio along with several other mutual funds available on their platform. The emergency savings is based on the money market. It's usually around 21% per annum. Downside is withdrawal takes 24 working hrs. They also charge N250 for top ups over 10k and N75 for 5k top ups. And N25 for lower. Their platform is easy to use imo and like every other other financial platform, have good and bad reviews. I use their own cowrywise money market portfolio.

If they are safe and secured by esp SEC they are the best in the country currently, considering they have been around since 2017 without going down.

Them and Renmoney have the highest interest rate for locking money, I believe. That said,
I'll advise anyone interested to read more customer reviews and weed out the PR ones before making a decision. There's a LOT of fairmoney (and renmoney) PR about. My experiences have been good but I've never taken loan from them or used the fairlock or put more than N2m there. And again, your funds are insured only up to N2m as it's a microfinance bank.

How safe is fairmoney microfinance Bank?

28% pa on their fixed deposit looks wonderful

Nobody is talking about it and fairmoney has been around since 2017, they also pay interest upfront like Treasury bill

They're SEC licensed and your funds are NDIC insured up to N2m. I've used them for about 2 years for savings only; their fairsave feature which claims 17% interest with no withdrawal restrictions but is more 15.7% with my calculation (which could be wrong). Their app could also be better. But I haven't had any issue with money going missing or unexplained deductions.

Their 28% fairlock is for 2 years though. 1 year fairlock is 26%

Rates will not always be high and vice versa. When we get there the market will give investors direction. Mainhile enjoy the current rates while it last.

Please are you aware of any other money market fund that has the option for paying out returns monthly like stanbic mmf?

Please how long does post office keep items before sending them back if the owner doesn't come to pick up? My package was delivered to the Agege post office on 26th January but I am not in Lagos at the moment. How many days will it be there before they send it back to the UK? Is it up to a week or 2 weeks?

0 to 0.5kg is ₦500
0.5kg and above is ₦1,500. However, this fee will also apply to phones and certain electronic devices regardless of the weight.
Thank you. please which of these is the legit receipt. I was told that if the long white one is unavailable, they issue the short one but I don't know how true that is. The value of my package is just $13.

Uberchic1: 3:25pm On Aug 11, 2022

This charge is for 0.5kg and above.

That means I shouldn't be paying the 1500 right? Do you know how much the actual fee is or if it's free for packages less than 0.5kg . On the tracking page, it shows my package is 0.132kg. They say it's Express (EMS) and not ed mail. And because the tracking number starts with EH and that N1500 is the minimum clearance fee for anything that comes through there. Please how can I resolve this one

If they say it is in Ikotun PO, visit there to confirm.

Please I was just ed by my local post office to come and pick up my parcel. And they said I should come with N1500 for "Parcel Clearance Fee" and said I'll be given receipt. Abeg, is this a new legit thing by NIPOST or is my local PO just trying to scam me?

She said the 1500 is based on weight but My package is very small, less than .5kg asked on how the person always sends things to me. Also I didn't pay this for previous similar weight parcels. Pleasee help.

Praise God!!!!...

I just picked up my parcel from the local post office today.

The tracking shows it is still in Lagos IMPC Air but it has arrived Enugu since Tuesday and I picked it up today.

Guys always check your nearest post office as sometimes it gets delivered and doesn't change on the Tracking website.

Sent from UK - July 5

Arrived Lagos - July 14

Arrived Enugu- August 2

Picked up - August 4.

Without any calls from Nipost.

Were you asked to pay any parcel clearance fee?

Good evening house! Please i need your help. A friend sent me a used Asus laptop from the US through EMS and on the 16th day of September 2021 i got a call from a guy that works at the post office in ABA informing me that i should come and pick up my parcel and also that custom billed me #18,000, then few hours later that same day i got another call from the same Post office this time the caller said he's the manager for EMS then he went ahead to ask me if I had received a call earlier and i said yes and the he said what did the person tell me, i told him the first caller said that my parcel is in their post office that i should come and collect it and also that custom billed me #18,000. Then the EMS manager now told me to disregard the previous caller, that the #18,000 is their own courier company service money, that custom billed me #54,000 he then went further to say that when I come to the post office he will give me the phone to speak with custom agent from Lagos.

I smell foul Play. I haven't gone there yet because I have being terribly sick but i intend to go there this week and I need your advice on how best to go about this.

What and what should I look at for to make sure the said EMS manager is not trying to extort money from me??

What does a custom bill looks like?

Please i will be very grateful if you all can assist me in any little way you can??

I can barely afford to pay the #18,000 not to talk of an additional #54,000.

Thanks i look forward to your responses.

Quote aieromon and ask for their advice. He/she is the one who has some knowledge on shipping through Nipost and bear in mind, they have said they don't work there.

Please assist me. I ordered some items from UK and they were dispatched 8th of August. Small package, not work more than €15, skincare items, free shipping with 'no tracking' besides the international tracking number. It shows edi received when I enter the tracking number on NIPOST track and trace and it's been showing this for over a week now. Do I still wait for NIPOST to me and for how long or Please advise.
