Recently i have been hearing about the dollar going up in value.

And this has brought about a hike in the prices of commodities in the market and has also brought about a hike in the cost of living of the average Nigerian.

So things are tough in the country now because of this dollar phenomenon

So i would like to know what determines the value of a country's currency and why the Nigerian Naira appears to constantly reducing in value while that of America keeps going higher and higher.

The truth is some of you high up there don't know what some people down the bottom do to survive each day. It's not about how educated you are or your work experience or the school you went to or your size of connection. It is not about any of those. I know of a first class graduate who sells marijuana and cannabis just to make small change and survive. It's just life. Everybody cannot be up there at the same time. Some people go there first and others get there later. I heard of a graduate lady with a strong 2:1 who ventured into frying akara for three years with her mum after graduation because there was no job forthcoming. Today she's working in switzerland with World bank. It is turn by turn. That's how life is. It is what it is. My friend's grandfather told me something. In response to your question, my friend connect dropped a text message when my friend posed this same question. The text message was a bit interesting and reliable..I will only advise FIRS hopefull to exercise more patience and be prayerfull and shun desperation and daubt. Don't be too over smart like that lady please who want to know who signed her letter before payment.
