On March 31, I wrote an open letter to Atiku, threatening to withdraw my if he chose a South Easterner as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election. My outburst was fueled by social media posts from some South Eastern s who justified and even celebrated the horrific burning of innocent Hausa travelers. What hurt me the most was seeing respected individuals partake in this wickedness. It broke me so deeply that I cried.

For years, Hausas and Northern minority groups have suffered retaliatory attacks, especially in the South East, all in the name of "fighting the Fulani." Yet, ironically, Northern Christians and Hausas have endured even worse atrocities at the hands of these same Fulani herdsmen and bandits. Our people are being killed, displaced, and humiliated in the North. And when these criminals attack the South, it is we, the Hausas and Northern Christians, who bear the brunt of retaliatory violence, not the actual bandits.

Seeing people justify the gruesome murder of those innocent Hausa souls, despite pointing out that they were not Fulani herdsmen, only deepened my pain. That frustration led me to make my post.

However, in hindsight, I realize that I acted too harshly, even to the extent of praising Tinubu, when, in fact, he should be held responsible as the Commander-in-Chief. I now understand that none of this would have happened if Tinubu had effectively tackled insecurity. For God’s sake, he is a Southerner, why has he allowed Fulani bandits to overrun the country, including his own region? While I acknowledge his and Governor Uba Sani’s efforts in Southern Kaduna, the reality is that insecurity has worsened nationwide.

People are frustrated, and when the government fails to act, they resort to jungle justice, which often claims innocent lives. In times of crisis, emotions take precedence over rationality. Every hour, there is news of killings, by ISWAP, Boko Haram, bandits, kidnappers, or communal clashes. Tinubu has failed. He and his vice, Shettima, must take responsibility. If they cannot fix the problem, they should honorably resign. The killings have become unbearable, and if left unchecked, they could lead to a civil war. Fulani herdsmen are not invincible. Tinubu must act urgently.

That said, I want to sincerely apologize to my leader, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the good people of the South East. I acknowledge my mistake and overreaction. I directed my frustration at the wrong people. Please forgive me.

To those affected by insecurity, I pray that God comforts you. May He grant us leaders like Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala - leaders with the vision to lead us out of this crisis.

To my fellow Nigerians: do not fall for the government's distractions. Let’s hold them able. State governors have limited power. Tinubu controls the DSS, the police, and the military, he is the one we should be holding responsible.

My deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones. May God grant the departed eternal rest and comfort their families in this difficult time. Amen.

Family Seeks Help As Missing Mentally Ill Tiv Boy Is Wrongly Accused Of Being Fulani Herdsman In Viral Pro-Biafra Video

The family of Samson Orban, a Christian from the Mindi family in Nasarawa State, has raised the alarm over a widely circulated video by a pro-Biafra group claiming that he is a Fulani herdsman trained in Elele military barracks in Rivers State to attack Southeast Nigeria.

The family has reported that Samson has been missing for over two weeks, and their search for him has been exhaustive. His father, Lance Corporal Aondona Orban of the Nigerian Army, who is currently attending a course in Kaduna State, revealed that Samson had been struggling with mental health challenges, which the family had been managing.

A video circulating on the Facebook page of a pro-Biafra group shows Samson tied up and being interrogated while appearing to be beaten, seemingly to force a confession.

When questioned about his origins, he responded, "Elele Barracks, Rivers State." When asked which state he was from, he replied, "Arewa. I schooled from Elele Barracks." He also stated that he did not know where he was when asked about his current location.

The interrogator instructed one of the pro-Biafra to beat Samson, and he was immediately flogged. The interrogator then asked, "Didn't they tell you that this is Biafra land?" to which Samson replied, "No."

When asked how many people came with him, Samson initially responded, "It's only me." However, after being flogged again, visibly shivering and fidgeting, he changed his answer to "225 students, sir." From that point on, he responded "yes" to every question following the assault.

In the video, the pro-Biafra interrogator can be heard saying, "Ndi Onuimo, this is where Samson is being held. He came to kill us."

In an interview with SaharaReporters, Lance Corporal Orban revealed that his son’s mental health challenges had led him to wander off multiple times. He recounted a previous incident in which Samson attempted to cross into Imo State in search of a job but was stopped by soldiers who recognised him.

The family expressed deep concern over the pro-Biafra group’s video, describing it as misleading and distressing. They are urgently pleading for Samson’s release, emphasising that he is neither a Fulani herdsman nor a soldier.

"It's not true that my son is a Fulani herdsman or a soldier. He's a Christian, and he doesn't even speak Fulani. He's been having mental health issues, and we've been managing it as a family," Lance Corporal Orban said.

He said, "What really happened is that the boy has a mental disorder. When I was going to Kaduna for a course, I told the mother that there was one area where one of the soldiers saw him towards the Imo River at the boundary between Rivers and Imo states.

“So, they saw him going down, and they rushed and asked where he was going in that environment. ‘Do you know that here is not good for you? And did you tell your daddy? What are you going there to do?’ He said he was going to look for a job in Imo state.

"So, the soldier asked him to enter the vehicle, and they brought him back to the barracks because they knew his problem. That time, I was working in the refinery, and when I came back, they told me, 'See your son!' We saw him towards the Imo boundary; we don't know what he went there to do. We don't want him to enter into the hands of people who will harm him.

"Look at it now; his brothers said they didn't even know when he left the house. About two weeks ago, the mother called me to say he hadn't been seen. They said they had searched everywhere and didn't see him. I told them to go and report to the security agencies with his picture.

"They even called one of the teachers at the government secondary school, which is the school that Samson attended. I don't know where those IPOB people got him. It was three days ago that my daughter called me, saying that my brother was with IPOB in a video shared on Facebook.

“When I saw the video, I said, 'What?' In the video, they were interviewing him, forcing him to say things he doesn't know.

"Like I told you, he has a mental disorder because, at times, he talks like a reasonable person, and if you ask him the next day, he will say another thing. Like in the video, when they asked him how many there were, he said he was alone before they beat him, and he started saying there were 225 in Port Harcourt.

They asked him, 'Are you in Elele?' He said yes. 'Are you a soldier?' He said yes. 'Are you training them in Elele barracks?' He said yes. 'We are 225 herdsmen.' Is it the soldier that will train militants or terrorists? We were shocked by seeing the video. They branded him a Fulani, a boy who is Tiv by tribe and a devoted Christian at that. He can't even speak or hear the Fulani language.

"He grew up in Elele barracks, attended school in the same barracks, and now they are carrying my son's picture all over the world, saying he is a herdsman. My son is not a soldier. How can Elele barracks be training soldiers? Soldiers are not trained in Elele barracks.

"So, I am pleading with those holding him to release him. He is not a Fulani herdsman; he is not a soldier, and there is no way he is trained in Elele barracks. The boy doesn't know how to handle a gun, let alone being a herdsman - herdsmen that are carrying weapons everywhere."

The family is calling on the authorities to investigate the matter and ensure Samson's safe return.

Efforts to speak with the Imo State Police Command's Spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye, were unsuccessful as he did not take his calls or respond to a text message seeking his comment at the time of filing this report.

Go through the 2023 presidential election result and see how wrong you are. Atiku is not hated in the core north

Some of those bigots voted him because he was running against Southerners.

Compare to how Buhari trashed him even in his polling unit.

His Twitter handler condemned the killings of Deborah, but for political reasons he deleted it, and you think such a person will be fair to you?

I wander how Atiku is different from the people you're crying about

I condemned Atiku for that. At least, he didn't celebrate it. Atiku has proven to be detribalized. In fact, he's hated in the core North because the South and Northern Christians love him. But politics can be crazy. I hate that he deleted that tweet. But with the Muslim-Muslim option at the time, we had to fight against it.

Anyway, 2027 will be different. Tinubu has proven himself to be a lover of South Kaduna people. So e no go hard me to switch my allegiance to him. Make Atiku make any small mistake, and we're done

Babablu. 80% of northerners killing of Deborah.

Just park one side with your ridiculous blackmail. If you like, go and vote for Boko Haram.

You're right, all northern extremists ed it, that's why I prefer a detribalised Northerner like Atiku. I'll never El-Rufai for President, for example. If Atiku aligns with a South Easterner again, I will switch my allegiance to President Tinubu. I don't think you read and comprehended my post.

The reason I'm banking on a Southerner is because of those Northern extremists on your screenshot. That's the major reason I campaigned against Tinubu’s Mu-Mu ticket!

If Deborah Samuel is your sister or daughter, I wander how you will feel if someone says something like this

She's my sister. That's why I want a detribalised person to govern. Atiku lost many ers because he deleted his post condemning the gruesome murder. He will lose way more if he aligns with the South-East. No difference between those Northern bigots and most South-Easterners. The way they're celebrating the murder is 200 times worse than Atiku deleting that tweet.

Dear Atiku,

In 2023, I ed you. I campaigned for you with all my strength because I believed that your detribalised nature would help end the marginalisation we face in Southern Kaduna.

In 2022, I was shocked when you deleted your post condemning the gruesome murder of Deborah Samuel. At that moment, I vowed never to you. However, my friends convinced me otherwise, arguing that it was a political move to secure core Northern votes. They reminded me of how detribalised you are. I accepted their reasoning and decided to you, because the alternative (a Tinubu Muslim-Muslim ticket) seemed even worse for us. I knew Peter Obi could not defeat Tinubu under an unpopular party, so I chose to stick with you. I campaigned for you, and together, we delivered Kaduna to you.

Fast forward to the ongoing discussions about a coalition for 2027, I was excited. My hope was that either you or someone from the South-East would emerge victorious. I firmly believe that peace can only return to Southern Kaduna and other Christian-dominated Northern areas if a detribalised Northerner like you or a Southerner becomes president.

However, recent events have forced me to reconsider. It is unfortunate that many from the South-East only acknowledge Northern Christians as distinct from Muslims in online discussions. In reality, there is no difference. Our people, especially truck drivers, are being targeted and killed in the South-East. While I acknowledge that criminals are responsible for these acts, what horrified me the most was the recent Uromi killings in Edo State, where several Hausa individuals were gruesomely burnt alive.

The tragedy itself was horrific, but what truly broke me was the reaction from many South-Eastern social media s, justifying the killings. I literally shed tears as I read those posts. It dawned on me that we are on our own. Our saviour is certainly not in the South-East; in fact, things might become even worse for us under their leadership.

I must take this opportunity to appreciate President Tinubu, he has truly surprised me. Despite the initial concerns about the Muslim-Muslim ticket, he has shown us love. Uba Sani, too, has stood by us. May God bless them both. My only grievance with Tinubu is the economic hardship, but if Atiku chooses to align with the South-East, I will have no hesitation in switching my allegiance to Tinubu. At least, I know for certain that he does not hate us, that is a fact. He also appears to recognise the distinction between Northern Muslims and Christian Northerners. If he could favour us in his first term without worrying about re-election, it is clear that his second term would be even more beneficial for us.

I sincerely hope that you select a running mate from the South-South or South-West, someone who is truly detribalised.

I wish you the best of luck.

3 horse race in Kaduna would scatter the votes. Win win for president Tinubu

Dude, I'm in Kaduna. 3 billion horse race will only ruin Tinubu. Atiku's votes are still intact. Most of El-Rufai ers are now with Atiku
Even Kwankwaso couldn't hurt Atiku in Kaduna.

When I created a thread boasting how Atiku will win Kaduna despite El-Rufai's noise and bragging, Garfield1 and others doubted me. See eh, the votes wey Tinubu go get in Kaduna come 2027, even Satan go pity am.

Na Uba Sani I pity because I like am. If Atiku remains neutral, he may be reelected, if not, he's gone.

Come to Kaduna or ask anyone here, Atiku is the most popular politician, even more popular now with the issues BAT has with El-Rufai.

I can't say anything about the other northern states, but you see Kaduna, zero your mind. I'm willing to bet 200k naira again.

My advice to Tinubu is to remove his mind from Kaduna. The small hope he was managing has been erased by El-Rufai. Whatever he managed to get in 2023 should be divided by 3. I think he should focus on uniting the south.

Dey play. Divide APC 2023 Kaduna votes by 3. That's what Tinubu will get, if he's lucky.

Here in Kaduna, Tinubu is the most unpopular politician currently.

This is the same Atiku that wants to play the victim card? Nigerians Odi and the blood on his hands. Tinubu is moving us forward, while some are stuck in the past. Instead of blaming Tinubu, Atiku should focus on his own failures and apologize to the people he hurt. The truth always finds a way to surface!

All these APC bots. Update your algorithm. Obasanjo was the president. Atiku was merely a VP.
