davien: I know right. I just discovered this post and I have been on it for the last 2 hours. My own question is, how do you people stay motivated? @Tensazangetsu20. I seem to be stuck in the planning phase where I have a lot of things I want to pick up but I do not get to start on any of them. Lately I just seem to be reactive (I only learn when the need arises). But I can see the disadvantage being I can only offer solutions based on what I already know. I also feel my field does not help matters (DevOps) as it is constantly evolving and a lot of tools are being churned out everyday. |

JahBwoy: Hahahaha. Scraping using powershell. Seems like a lot of parsing to do. I use python or javascript (node) for my webscraping needs. That's what drew me to programming. I got tired of comparing prices across different ecommerce sites when buying gifts for my girl. So i created a script that i can put it some configuration for any ecommerce site. E.g the search field id, or xpath. So when i run the script, it searches all the ecommerce sites i ed in the config and returns the results as json out. I have not built a UI yet. But i hope i get to it. If you are getting into the devops side of things. I would recommend python or go. That's what most organisations use for their devops tooling. Python is by far more popular but i have started seeing go pop up here and there. Please and Please learn Containerization. That's where the goldmine is. Every modern devops shop uses containers. Docker and Kubernetes. I am also learning Azure with the Andela ALC program. I hope it doesn't bore me as its mostly starting out videos. I prefer getting my hands dirty. I don't know much about c#. Why the interest? |

ibkayee: I can't really recall how long i have been learning. I just have been stumbling across the tools being used in devops since i started working 4 years ago. I started with mostly Automation. Then in the last 2 years. Containerization and CI/CD pipelines |

ibkayee: Operations background but in the last one year, been doing a lot of development for cross functional training. I code in python (flask framework), node and react now. I find it easy to pick up languages as long as i have a problem i am trying to solve. The background doesn't matter much. You just have to be curious. But i think development has helped me the most. It kind of changed my thinking pattern when dealing with operations. Helps me see the developers point of view and be a better engineer 1 Like |

ibkayee: Also learning DevOps. I take quizzes on Kodekloud to boost my Linux skillset. Also have a couple of web apps which i created to get familiar with deploying pipelines. I use docker for all my development and i recently moved my applications to Kubernetes. I and a friend run projects together and this helps us learn fasters. Feel free to reach out and we can talk about how to help each other |

Hi Guys. Please checkout the site i created for viewing covid19 statistics in Nigeria. https://ngcovid19.com.ng/ You can also view historic data by clicking on the dates and the go button. This is a dashboard and the information updates itself if there is any change on the NCDC site. However NCDC sometimes changes historic data and my site cannot detect that yet, so i am depending on the public to let me know when they notice these changes. Please Notify me on [email protected] if there are any errors or suggestions. 1 Like |

ladyGKilaBCrueD: Sadly i agree with you. Even the comments prove you right. I disagree with the title tho, i rather blame the society. I had to share your article on my status. This is also as a result of feminism. I believe women should be empowered. In trying to do this. The society neglected men and left them to figure out things on their own. It's just like being in school, who comes out being a better student? The person who goes to gets tutored and reads on his own, or the person who just reads on his own. This is exactly what is happening. If you look around you, there are a lot of programs targetting women growth in all fields. Even in the family, more is expected from the lady so she can be ready to face the outside world. I think we should all start this conversation. Both Genders should be empowered. The Sad thing is, men are ignorant of this issue or just to proud to see it. The thing that broke the camel's back for me is, a lady around me is starting an organisation to address this issues of men being left behind. We guys aren't even ready to face the issue ourselves. Another factor i also attribute this to is the expectations on men. The society expects men to always be "stable" as the head, he loses respect from everyone around him when he isn't. So when a man finds something barely good enough, he settles for it and doesn't want to take risks or aim to be better. While on the other hand, a woman can try and fail so many times without being judged on the same premise. (There is a husband to fall back to). This narrative has to change. Men should be encouraged to fail fast and learn from it. To also address the last part of your article. I agree with you. I think we have more single women out there because nobody wants to settle for less, so a lot of them decide to stay that way. No matter how much feminist make it sound otherwise. Women want men who can lead them. So when women are fighting for themselves, they should also men. It should not be a gender war. Rather we should all tackle these issues together. Same way men don't want women who are liabilities, women don't want weak men. We men should start looking out for ourselves, we should start this conversation about empowering men, then things will start to change. Pardon my errors. 1 Like |

Vyolet: it is well. Men in this part of the world are viewed as weak as a result of the hypocrisy of Feminism in Nigeria. Women are being given more opportunities in the name of Closing the gender gap, giving women now have the same economic power as men. You see a man and a woman earning the same amount in a family, but she still expects him to solely take care of her and the children, he does this with his money while she saves and acquires properties, if something then happens and he is out of a job, he goes broke in no time cos he wasn't able to save as much cos of their needs. The woman will then say he is a weak man and leave not considering all he had been doing for the family. This is why i call it "hypocrisy" as this younger generation of women only do what favours them, you want the best of feminism and drop the other responsibilities that come with it. i was reading a blog by a Nigerian lady who went to europe and was complaining that men who asked her out to lunch made her pay for her own food, i just shook my head, this lady has a popular blog and probably earns the same as the guys asking her out, but they must be financially depleted cos they are men. That's why i prefer hanging out with my foreign female friends, they complain when you try paying for their meals, and paradaventure you do, they pay for the next outing. But with a Nigerian lady, you call her, let's hangout, you must pay, she calls you for the same, you still must pay. Then they all come online to complain about men being entitled. After all these, i wonder who is really entitled. . The funny thing i see online is women, also complaining about the man no helping with chores in the family, which is why he has to be the sole provider. if the man split responsibilities 50/50. would the lady 50/50 with financies in the house? Women are just crying foul at every small thing. i actually blame men who come online and create posts like this without thinking it through. i am not in anyway attacking women. i am just challenging your views. if you want feminism, let the whole package apply, when you start picking only parts that favour ladies, then you actually start doing the same thing you are against. 3 Likes 1 Share |

OP, Yeah Returning the Car to him was a great move, it shows you value your sanity and self worth over the material things you get from him, if he decides to be stupid, you do not have to engage in his stupidity with him. Anyways, you should do what's best for you. Relationships are not perfect, if you think you can continue to Love him. Yeah. Go on. HIV is not a death sentence as long as he is taking his treatment. i'm cheering for your relationship. All the Best to you. Note. i saw an advice from some lady on your other thread saying you should keep the car, that you deserve it for being with him. SMH. i wonder what kind of mentality some people have, everything to them is a business transaction. That's why a lot of them end up being either poor or prostitutes. No one ever deserves any Gift, Gifts are given out of love, not because you worked for it. If the Person wants it back, Please Happily give the person back, its better than having the person constantly in your life bugging you for it. Holding on and arguing about it is some serious poverty mentality. a lot of people needs to have their brains checked. The person who also wants the Gift back is not a saint either, that's just plain stupid and manipulative. Makes the gifting process transactional and that is wrong. We should all learn to give and let go. 1 Like |

LivingforChrist: Stop impersonating another person. It is because of people like you that nobody wants to help another person. I hope God does not visit you with the person's issues. Then you would really have to start begging 1 Like |

OP said some truths. However your post comes off as saying that women should demand financial stability without having to achieve that themselves. Both Genders should be striving for this. Times have changed and people should. With the situation of the country, it is hard for one person to be the sole breadwinner in a family. Couples should come to an understanding and share responsibilities among themselves. Women helping significantly with finances and men help with the home. I dont understand why women seem to make a big deal about situations where a woman is the bread winner in her family. First of all the percentage is very small and i don't think it is a bad thing if times are just tough for the partner and he is not being lazy. Same way a man being the bread winner is not a big deal. Just depends on their understanding and agreement. Anyways. Everyone should try to be financially stable. Like minds attract nowadays. It doesn't make sense to be broke and be demanding for stability from another person. Put in some effort yourself and you would see the kinda people that will be attracted to you.

Champagnemami: How is the environment for IT professionals and the salary range. I have noticed an increase in the number of recruiters from Dubai on linkedin. A couple of them regularly reach out to me but i don't know what the IT landscape is like there. Do they pay better than a good Nigerian Tech salary. (Talking about over the 500k range) 5 Likes 1 Share |

Daddybomboy: You can use Airbnb to reduce cost of accomodation. Really lovely rooms for about 12 to 15k. You can also fly to Ghana and do a road trip back. You get to do a little sight seeing of other West African countries on your way back. Places to check in Accra. Osu Castle Independence Square Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park Labadi Beach Osu Area. Accra itself is not so touristy, but you get to experience someplace different with your bride, that will be the fun part of it. If you do have time, you can get to cape coast to check out elmina castle (4 hrs from accra) and the canopy walk(6-7hrs from Accra). 1 Like |

This is being ignorant. So if she was born with HIV/AIDS, does it mean a death sentence or she cant experience life like every normal person?. As someone working in the health sector, i understand how it is being managed and know how to protect myself. I would marry her for free if i love her. HIV isn't a death sentence. Try and get educated on it and stop asking foolish questions that just shows you are ignorant about HIV/AIDS

My opinion. You could marry when you are starting life, as long as you have a plan, a realistic one with short term goals in place to reach them not the kinda of plan like I want to be a millionaire in 5 years. If you have a plan no matter what life throws at you, you would find a way to make it work. Also the kind of woman is a very important fact. If you marry a clueless, goalless liability like most of the ladies we have out there now. Your story will just end like this. https://nairaland.unblockandhide.com/3553020/wife-not-what-thought-before. Its so sad that only a small minority of the ladies we have out there have a dream. They claim to their husband to reach their goals and all they have to offer is sex. I wonder when they will start to understand that sex is now so easy to get anywhere. If sex is ing dreams, then a prostitute would be a perfect partner. Men are also not left out, we have lost the capacity to dream big ourselves and plan to achieve it. The best thing is just to have a realistic plan for your life before dreaming of dating. Then you should have started working on them before getting married by achieving some of the short term goals needed for your dream. Also be wary of the kind of woman you date, stay friends for a while before dating. Its like the common trend out there is now meet a lady and ask out out after 2 weeks of dating. If you do that you are a silly comedian. Get to study if your life plans are in line with each other.

I'm still wondering how Christians are affected by this rule. Does wearing hijab stop the other students from carrying out the other activities. I believe this issue should be between the school authorities and the government. CAN is making a mistake by being involved in this. This goes against one of the things christainity stands for. Tolerating other religions should not be a problem. This just brings about religious conflict for no good reasons. the Christians wearing robes are really funny, is the robe part of our day to day lives? We should just stop deceiving ourselves. Christainity is becoming a title not a way of life if we use little things like this to start religious conflict. CAN should focus on better things than ing baseless conflicts. .. My own opinion |
