Good day people.... something I'll like to understand is: How can AliExpress always offer free shipping for almost everything (or if a shipping fee is applied, it is minor compared to the price of the item).... but Amazon would apply shipping + customs fee everytime (where the shipping+customs fee can even be 100% over the price of the said item). eg. I can go to buy a mini PC on AliExpress (item cost $800, shipping $119 or even less and no extra customs anything)... but the same mini PC on Amazon would attract over $300 for shipping+customs. And this isn't even about the cost, value or weight of an item. I could want to get a small metallic object that can fit in my palm, the cost on Amazon is $25 with shipping+customs fee of $35. It's insane. 1 Like |

Elizkid: I've noticed what you said. I picked 4 items and got 1 free slot (making it 5 items). Total amount when selecting amounted to $10.96. When I proceeded to checkout, it showed $29+ .... I had to close the app, reopen it. Remove all the items I selected and re-added them again (total $10.96), but it still showed $29+. I left and checked again after a couple of minutes and checked out with the correct $10.96 |

The naira rate is not stagnant. 900 few days ago, 920 today. I see no point with people funding a card and wanting to withdraw it again as Naira subsequently. Fintechs prices for funding & withdrawal is where their robbery is (look at Payday for example). If you want to save in USD, open a Dom . If the card is just for spending, fund only the specific amount you need at that time and spend it. Or fund your card with the finality that you're spending it all. 1 Like |

Babaty87: Grey is the best now. I started using it when Gotok broke our heart, and I mentioned it ever since. - $5 total to create a card (ie. $4 card creation fee & $1 which is refundable to your card). - No maintenance fee. - No charge back fee. - They have a 1% funding fee (same like Gotok before). - Their rate is the best. I don't know what their monthly usage limit is, but I'm definitely sure it's more that $1k limit. |

Alozera: Nothing of great concern. That's just a visual error and will update appropriately as the status of the item changes/follows due process. To even show: here's an item of mine, with similar status update from the beginning. Status A โ it has not yet left China. Status B โ when it left China Just relax. Condition your mind to what the app shows as estimated delivery date though it doesn't even take so long anymore. 2 to 3 (or 4) weeks tops is more common. But condition your mind regardless.

Local banks are resuming. Naira cards can be used for international transactions. This is GoMoney (a digital subsidiary of Sterling Bank). I used to use it before at rate of 490/$ when black market was black marketing as usual. The limit now is $100. Not tried it again yet to know their current rate (if it's like Wema's 944/$ or more closer to black market rates)

You people have crippled Wema Bank Lmao. I'm trying to make transfer using Opay to my friend's Wema . Opay says Wema Bank's network is down (@ 30% efficiency)... and thus I can't proceed with the transfer lol |

Sold USDT for NGN on Binance via p2p @ 828/$ ... Funded my Grey card @ 823/$ Not much but it's honest work lol 1 Like |

This is Grey right now: 820/$ (funding fee of 1%, which is 8.2 naira) Checked USDT/NGN pair on Binance, and it was at 817/$ Fairest of them all. Please come and on Grey oo ๐๐ป ๐คฒ๐ป(https://greyapp.page/darc9MUVEBuarcf66). If you're a remote worker or need foreign bank s, it's perfectly for you (*the virtual card is a new service adapted on their platform). Their main service is providing foreign bank s.

nani667: How's this preferable? Black market is about 800 something... this is 900 & something. I use GreyFinance card. Apart from card creation fee โ $4 (one time fee). The fee for funding the card is 1% of your funding amount. Nothing else (no monthly maintenance fee etc) . I haven't checked their rate right now, but the last time I did, it was fair (*comparable with black market rates and with USDT/NGN pair on Binance). Wema with 900, other banks will come in at 900.... black market will subsequently shift to 900, and then 1000 naira per USD here we come. Nigeria is finished. 4 Likes |

Jess99: Lol. sorry. In my town, there have 2 offices. One office behaves sensibly (even has a very high/good rating on Google Map)... the other office does the kind of thing you described. Also, I think we should all collectively stop entertaining mediocrity and complacency. If an item is home delivery, get it without paying nothing. If it's self-pickup, go to their office on time and get (*it's in their place to notify either by sms, call, email etc). Once people start "showing love" out of the goodness of their hearts or not paying attention, next thing that happens is entitlement & attitude. Look at Nipost for example, the โฆ200, โฆ500, โฆ1000 & โฆ2000 people pay physically there, you're not supposed to be paying that at all, but over time, it is what it is... and here we are. 7 Likes |

Speedaf don dey misbehave. Self-pickup, but you take it upon yourself to carry item, without any notification/call/sms/email to the receiver... then abruptly call at a wrong time when someone is not around and ask for delivery fee that no one agreed to even. Them don dey crase. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Goodnuel:yeah, interesting. Not realised it changed much within a week since I last used it. The fee is 1% of funding amount (same as Gotok that time) |
![]() |
Smartmanager:yeah sounds like Nipost to me. Just patiently wait |
![]() |
Smartmanager: AE shows the total estimated time of delivery from the date it is shipped which is 60 days+ (by default). Under economy shipping, further tracking may not be available when an item gets to the destination country. Use an app like Pkge.net (check PlayStore for it or Apple Store, not sure). Input the tracking ID and you'll see further updated information regarding your package (especially if the handling delivery service was Speedaf). The app is good for tracking and shows information clearly (even better than AE app. You'd see things like handler's name & phone number once scanned for delivery for example).

PSA: Since Gotok is gone (RIP), no other service open to residents in Nigeria allows funding card with crypto. But I'm using Grey Finance now. If you're a remote worker, you can even create a full US or Euro bank on it free. Anyway, creating a virtual card costs $5 in total ($4 fee + $1 stays back on your card). Rate was โฆ770 and it works fine across the board. Optional Referral: ๐คฒ๐ป Use my code XVYVQE to sign up and create a free, foreign bank on Grey. Katsuki:Discounted sales. kinda of like the one that's currently running now (if it hasn't finished) |

Please anybody used Grey Finance? How's their fee structure? I looked at their rate and it looks fair. Card creation is total of $5 (you'll get $1 back on your card out of the 5) |

Blaqq2: Simply spend it or withdraw if you can. When the news first broke out (like an hour later), I spent mine to order a minor thing. I don't know about now that it's been a couple of days already. If it fails and you need help, them directly. |

icon91: The thing is people taste/enjoy receiving one item within 2 weeks of ordering and automatically think it's the status quo all the time. The status quo is actually 60 days. Always has been. AE labels this well with a counter. Now any small thing after 3 days of ordering, I want to open dispute. I want refund etc etc. [this is a rant] |
![]() |
Ekikor: Irrespective of whether you ordered different items the exact second, if they aren't from the same store/seller, don't expect them to come together. Moreover, if different sellers, during the shipping process, a point will reach where they may combine both items and update the tracking number. This will even show in your AE app (or if you use pkge.net app, it notifies you clearly). The 2 that has arrived, simply do as it tells you... go and collect it. Then check the tracking info of the others later. Bottomline is you'll get your parcel eventually. No need to stress yourself. To even give an idea of this all: I've bought a variety of items at the same time (different sellers). Speedaf delivery. 2 landed at one Speedaf office; the remaining 1 landed in another Speedaf office (same town). |

SegZ24: Services like Gotok exist (crypto to fund virtual card), but Nigeria and in fact the whole of Africa is always restricted |

Sonrexx: Their rate is bad the last time I checked. Not going back |

PCAID: I just read the article, it's insane. Even here on this AE thread, people have mentioned how they effected refund and still kept the item instead when duly supposed to return it. I think Union54 was Barter's partner for their cards. I'm still searching for an option to use. I've found Grey & Bitnob (*I no ready to open another CEX ) 1 Like |
