Payments to the Nigerian Airways Guys started today. When will we begin to see our own ooooooo! God na your hand we dey.

The Federal Ministry Of Finance will begin payments of Nigerian Airways workers this coming Monday, and we are all here lamenting about peanuts pensions that we don't even know how much and when we will start collecting! God help Us all

Look guys, truth is Nitel/Mtel are actually supposed to be paid in bulk. But since the stupid PDP let FG of Obasanjo, Yaradua and Jonathan combined refused to do it, Buhari came on board to say there should be a comprehensive verification so that they could be placed on monthly pension. Maybe he saw that resources then where lean. But We should not 4get that PTAD has said these arrears will be paid, that is from 2011 to date. But for now, let monthly pensions start rolling in. We don't know how long we have to wait for the payments of arreas she. But I must really be frank with You all, the NITEL reps messed up and agreed monthly pensions just like that. This is Nija o, you don't just negotiate with govt with a weak mind. Ask Joe Ajero and the others in NEPA. They stood their ground firmly! Today, they have even forgotten that they even had any business with govt cos they where paid in bulk. There is no time to say we are giving govt time. Crude prices have increased over the years, govt has this money to pay. Halita and co need to do more. Pressure and pressure is wat govt understands. They (NITEL reps) are lukewarm. Let them follow this thing up as e dey hot. Elections are upon us. How sure are we that APC will win next years general elections? They should move for these arreas to be paid as soon as possible. The honarable minister too should use her influence. She is the major link now. All she needs to do is to convince Mr Presido to realse the money, that's all!

Guys, let's all still be optimistic. It's really a very annoying this I tell you, but let's be strengthened by the fact that the Airways guys got their substantial breakthrough just days after "our own", & current minister of finance assumed office. I believe she is working on our case underground. Let's wait and see. God bless and strengthen us all, Amen.

Nawa o, this woman don enter trouble oo. With just less than 72 hours of assuming office, the Nigerian airways guys want to the ministry to protest the non payment of their N45B arrears. This is a clear indication that PTAD might somehow be innocent after all. The issue now is for the ministry to release the funds. For Christ sake, what was Adeosun doing all this while? God has His ways of doing things, she was just there blowing grammar wey no follow. Abeg joor Ag. Minister, over to you.....

Hmmmm, meet again! Everybody is tired of meeting here meeting there. All we want is payments. If she is waiting for NITEL representatives to be following her up and down, then we will really have to tary longer. I just hope she will be brave and courageous enough to take the bull by the horn and start the process of quick approval of these funds. No one needs to tell her how much these pensioner and next of kins have suffered. Besides she should understand that she might not be there for too long. The earlier she starts the process, the better for us all. On a lighter note, I wish her husband too, as a NITEL pensioner, will help us all put plenty pressure on her LOL. I still repeat (from my previous posts) it is either now or never!

@arewaa yes it's almost over. No matter the delay in paying these arrears, I strongly believe it will not be exceeded December. But I also believe payments of pensions will begin next week. My condolences goes out to the family of late Mr Onwunka, who died within the week. He was former acting territorial manager Benue Exchange before his retirement in 1996. May God grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

@michtz, I think You're absolutely correct. I want to believe all those ing the PTAD guys are either not even directly affected or are just talking out of ignorance. Look, if you say you will start paying pensioners pensions after about 7 years of not paying and you are paying only one month at a time, then you are not being sensitive to these pensioners. Like you said, they are not growing any younger. My dad is in his 70's and servevd this nation for 35 years. Is it when he is dead that you will now start paying the arreas? How can you owe pensions for over 7 years and you just wake-up one day and say you want to integrate them into one stupid pay roll for monthly pensions after over 5 months of verification. What will one month pension do for someone who may not have had an income after 7 years! Well, to be fair to the ptad guys, I might not totally put all the blame on them. The federal government has to do more and release the funds. Ask your self; how much self will it take to pay these arrears. I tell you, it may not take up to 100 billion. It may interest you to know that most of these guys may not even receive up to 100K as pensions and they are happy that they have some verification to start paying monthly pensions! I also largely blame the Obasanjo and Goodluck istrations. Look at how they quickly payed the defunct NEPA guys all their entitlements, but look at how they where all lukewarm about the nitel/mtel payment, may be if they had shown more concern, by now the whole thing may have been cleared. Like i will keep on saying, these guys are not begging for this mony o, it is thier right, they have worked for it, PAY THEM NOW THAT THEY ARE STILL ALIVE! It's very sad I tell you.

Hello guys. I think @PTAD have finally cleared the air about how payments will be done. From what they told the Delta steel company guys, they said their computations have been concluded and that beginning from August, they (DSC pensioners) will begin to get pensions for love. @Ptad also mentioned that pension arrears will only be paid when the Federal Govt makes funds available. They also said other agencies (nitel/mtel inclusive), will have theirs finally computed subsequently. From the above, I think what @ptad wants to do is to first of all start paying regular pensions from September, pending when the FG will graciously approved funds for the backlog of arreas; only God Almighty knows how long this will take. So all those thinking of "fat" alerts after computation, sorry to dash your hopes. Check these out 1 Like |

@populardaniel You are absolutely correct. If no arrears are to be paid, then it makes not sense to those who have lost a parent, relation or a dear one. Truth is PTAD has to pay this arreas. The money has been approved! They said we should wait for the budget to be ed, we waited patiently and now they tactically tried to shift computation till August. Look guys, these PTAD guys are trying to play on our intelligence; they are buying too much time. Same thing is happening in DSC and co. They make a lot of interest in just a day not to talk of 1 month. Billions of naira is involved here and what is paining me the most is that the so called representatives are quiet about the whole thing, it is very annoying! If they have been carrying us along, we would not be this worries na. Lets give them the benefit of the doubt sha Let us still wait and see what comes up in August.

That is not a pilot. He is probably a dispatcher or any other ground staff. No pilot will come down and leave the cockpit to welcome a enger he (the pilot) flew! Look, Atiku is a "big boy". No Nigerian will have the guys to disrespect him, not even Baba Iyabo. This is a man that never lost a court case during all the pre 2007 general elections oooooo. His (Atikus) wealth is unimaginable, that so called pilot was only cut unawares with his handshake

@brosiye this your talk no follow at all. Please you shouldn't even start talking about no pension arrears. What happens to all the arrears from 2011 till date (assuming the 5 years paid by BPE covered from 2006 to 2011) ![]() ![]() |

[quote author=brosiye99 post=69313600]The key question now is will there be any arrears paid or the pension will start from the month of addition to pension payroll? I ask because it will be tough if no arrears are paid since most people are in serious debt here and there. Let's watch and see what will be paid to Delta Steel since they will be paid confirmed by August. That would be an indication of what to expect in of arrears. I pray arrears are paid even if from beginning of this year till date. I greet everyone. |

I think the cutdown is based on those who didint spend upto 10 years in service before the final disengagement in 2006!

It is taking too long. It is about four months since verification ended. The money is there, even if it is 50000, they ought to have finished computing what is due for every body. It is not rocket science; it is simple 1 plus 1 or 2 plus 2. Truth is we all know that the money is in billions of naira and they will want to get as much interest from the bank as possible. But i want to urge the PTAD people to consider the live, health and well being of these retirees. If they say they were waiting for the bugdet to be signed, then they have no excuse any more because the President has just signed it into law. They should put all selfishness aside and pay these senior citizens, who put almost all thier efforts in serving Nigeria.

@Marvin10, I think You are getting it wrong o. What the PTAD boss was saying in that video is relating to the 33% increments in pensions arrears and not the arrears to be paid ex nitel/mtel staff. If they pay You only 18 months out of about 84 months arrears you no go curse their father!!!. The thing is We should be expecting say about at least 60 months at the first instance plus the 33% arrears ontop.
|

We pray so. But another critical question is do they have the funds to pay? Or will they still have to wait for the ministry of finance to release the funds?
|
![]() |
I don't really trust this PTDA people. They are not clearly making their plans known. At least even before the verification, they should have stated very clearly how many years or months arrears they are willing and able to pay. I strongly believe they will end up paying peanuts at the end of the day.

If your dad retired in 1995, and died in 2009, then I personally feel you are not entitled. I might be wrong though. You can ask the ptad people through their twitter handle @ptad
