Thanks for your Response Sir/ma. If I should take her to Nnewi, that will be double trouble for me, We stay inside Onitsha, It's just Me,Herself and our 2kids, There will be nobody to stay with her. It will simply means I have to stop working, and if I don't work getting money for Hospital bills will be more difficult than it is now...The only thing that I think can help Us is, If I can get someone that will help Us get the drug from there at a cheaper rate, it will help Us a whole lot....

thanks once again Sir/ma

Not sure how it works in that regards. Make your inquiries on the possibility but I guess it might be challenging as they are trying to prevent rent seeking behaviors.

Government Hospital in Onitsha? My Sister that place is a no go Area, We are even Suspecting they transferred the Virus to my wife, when she went there to remove her Family planning device due to Complications...

Use NAUTH. I guess since they have medicine they would have a teaching hospital.

This pregnancy ish is quite challenging. Kudos to the mothers out there. We came for antenatal and due to the decline in the kicks/movements this week that we told the doctor, we are asked to take a non-stress test for the baby. At some point she's given juice to drink as they said there are movements however, the movement isn't consistently high enough for the gender. Everything finally ended well and we are told the movement is great. I am trust God the pregnancy journey will end in thanksgiving.

Yes we did, he said there's an Injection we must buy, It will be istered on the baby 12hours after birth, then the mother's treatment can commence after Delivery. But Honestly Sis, The price(100/150k) he mentioned for the Injection and the delivery charges is still banging in my head Since Morning... In fact I am having Migraine as I type this Message.. I just pray Nothing happen to them.....

Bro, be glad you are informed ahead of time. Worry about how to raise it if you have to but please, do not worry too much so as not to mess up your health or hers. Just be focused and trust God to see you through it. If it isn't too late, her at a government hospital as I learnt they sell it to them at a subsidized rate unlike in a private pharmacy where it is quite expensive.

Welcome all to the month of our delivery, I pray God make it easy for our pregnant women and make delivery a supernatural one for us.

At this time, I can report our EDD as October 22nd and the gender is blue. Cappo @threegees, please take note.

We are 37 weeks gone and almost prepared. Most of the things we bought (clothings, bath bowl, bibs etc.) for the baby will be returned to the stores we bought them from. Called one of the main grocery store yesterday and they said I can return it provided I still have the receipts. I am returning them because the pregnancy centre we took the pregnancy test has been calling from time to time and for the past few weeks, they have been providing most of the things we would need. From clothings to bassinets, car seat to baby toys, baby bath bowls, baby gym etc. We rejected the baby closet because we have many closets in the house. We will be returning some of the clothings because they seem too many particularly 0 to 3 months.

As for food, madam has really not been eating much and we have stopped cooking much since we eat different things and now eat at different times. Although the headache is still persistent but we have accepted it as our package. Her body is preparing for labor as she still experiences tightening and some cramps that seems like false labor.

Most importantly, thanks to God for hitherto he has helped us.

It happened to me for like two weeks but I treated malaria and typhoid and it has picked up again

Thanks a lot. She's doing fine with Vitamin Water and Ensure to complement the two meals for now. We plan to ask the OBGYN that will attend to us at our next visit.

Different strokes....some become more ravenous, some lose appetite.
As long as she's still taking her vitamins and lots of fluids, she's fine.

Thanks a lot. She's still taking them however, the movement are synonymous with her food intake and that is getting us a little agitated. Sometimes, we do the fetal heartbeat monitor with our dappled. Hopefully, it will end in praise.

IamGreen1:

I'm on this table, I hardly eat twice in a day now because the willingness is nowhere to be found. DH is scared.
Thanks. Hopefully, she outgrows this phase.

Good evening mamas,

Is it normal to lose appetite in the last trimester and not to feel hungry most times?

Yea...thats one of the perks of abroad life.

Hospital gave me a manual one, since you already have one I suggest you go with it especially if its electric.
In the US, you carry your baby out of the hospital in the car seat...but the base would already be fixed in the car.

Yeah, we still a month away is why i don't want to fix the base yet but I guess the earlier the better. Thanks so much for the help. Guess we are ready but the days seem so long now.

Shawl
Drugs for baby (hospital will provide the list for them)
Small flask with hot water
Bathing soap, comb for mom
Three packs of lady sept sanitary pad for mom
Three packs of disposable panties for mom
A pair of bathroom slippers
I tin of glucose and small cup and small spoon
A roll of dele cotton wool
A pack of latex gloves (large size)
Small combs for baby
I pack of underlay
2 bar soaps (probably for enema)
One Towel for mom and two small towels for baby
Baby suction (very important)
Cord clip
I bottle of dettol
Toothbrush, pajamas and toothpaste for mom
I packet of razor blade (very important)

Are you in Nigeria? The hospital should be able to give you an idea of some important items which will be needed or will they provide them?

Thanks for your help. We are not in Nigeria and Sugah just assured us we do not need be bothered about most of the stuff. We intend going with Lavenda Oil though because it was mentioned in our birthing class that its aroma helps ease the environment and makes the pain bearable kind of.

I'm guessing you are in the abroad grin?

The hospital list thing is a Nigerian/African thing...hospitals abroad provide the basic things required for delivery. The hospital even gives you stuff like diapers, wipes, formula, clothes, disposable pants for the mother...I even got a breast pump.
In that case, the only thing you need is going home clothes for the baby and comfy clothes for the mother, car seat...pretty much..and anything she'd need to make her stay more comfortable. An extra blanket for you to sleep with, snacks for you, phone chargers etc

For pead visit, you can ask the doctor when you can visit for checks...if circumcision is done at the hospital before discharge you wouldn't need a visit for about 1 week (I think)

Thanks a lot. We will relax our mind then.

Do we need to go with the breast pump? We got one courtesy of our insurance.

As for the car seat, we got one but yet to fix the base. Will do this maybe one of these days.
thejourney200: 8:36pm On Sep 26, 2020
In a situation where the hospital doesn't give a list, what should one do? Our OBGYN said they don't have anything of such and we were told whenever my wife gets into the active stage of labor (5:1:1 i.e. one contraction that last for a minute every five minutes), we should go to the city's main hospital and once we , the hospital will call one of their doctors on call to us. In essence, they do not have a birthing center.

Also, we were told to shop for a pediatrician clinic which we have. Is there anything we need to go with for the pediatrician? Also, after certified okay, when is the first pediatrician visit as we need to get an insurance plan for the baby but it might take up to 3 days before it is activated?

We are trying to get the bag set and not sure what exactly we need to. So far, we have:
3 pieces of clothes for the newborn,
1 pack newborn diapers,
1 pack wipes,
4 maternity bras,
Clothes for the mother.

Came across this thread and felt I could contribute in my little way. To those who are expecting, may God favor you.

In my case, I wasn't married when I chose to do a SFA. I was over 30 when I started dating my wife and being a naive guy all my youth, I decided to know if there was an issue with me. I did some blood work to check my testosterone level and other things because although I do masturbate, I most times masturbate more than once.

I later asked for SFA to be sure of other things when my relationship got serious. The results were not that bad except for morphology which had 2% normal which was below the 4% normal set by the WHO. Interestingly, I never took the result serious when I was told that when I get married, if after six months there is no pregnancy, then we would discuss what can be done and also we had agreed we were open to IVF should there be delay. However, three months to the wedding date, I went to see my doctor and then he brought up the test result and explained each element to me. I was bothered and told my wife (my fiancee as at then) and all she asked was whose report do I believe.

Luckily, I was on Facebook one evening when I ran into a video on rant.ng's handle of a female Nigerian homeopathic doctor (Dr. O, she used to be live from 7pm on Wednesday, I don't know if she still has her presentation) who was teaching on infertility. I later ed her and she prescribed her own solution which I got. I also read on nairaland and ed one Flexherbal guy whose product I read its testimonies on how it enhanced performance. One thing he told me was I should not worry since I was yet to have sex. He recommended I get his herbs and also, eat more of cucumbers and bananas. I also got his product.

I discussed with a friend who was a Senior Registrar in Urology and he suggested I take Vitamin E and Manix in addition to Vitamins B and D my doctor recommended. He was a very strong system and told me (I never bothered confirming it) that less than 40% of couples conceive in the first six months of marriage. Each time I was worried, he would ask I calm down.

Lastly, I read online and realized walnuts was a great solution for male infertility issues. I quickly added it alongside some nuts for my everyday snack. We prayed so much about it as well while praying for our home.

We had difficulty with sex our first two weeks and when we finally broke through, it was past her ovulation date. Imagine my disappointment when she saw her period. I tried to man up and started reading everything about the reproductive system and all you can imagine. Read things up on the TTC thread and many more. We discussed her next ovulation date and drew out a sex timetable to use around that period sex wise.

I was the one who was counting the cycle days and on day 28 her usual cycle, each time we spoke, I tried to ask if the flow had started. Luckily, day 28 ed without the flow, then came day 29,30,31,32,33,34 and then I suggested we go run a test. On day 35, we did and we were told from the urine sample that she was pregnant.

In conclusion, I can't say what exactly worked and neither have I done another test to know if the morphology has improved. However, I may want to think it was our faith, coupled with the medications. I did not finish any of them (although I used almost 80% before the wedding) because my wife wasn't in however, I was consistent with the Irish Moss in my tea and Vitamin E daily. I used Manix only around the ovulation period. All I would say is try whatever product you are convinced on, read through the ingredients and read about what they do(please, do not hesitate to ask questions before you buy), and put your trust in God. I wish every other person good luck.

Thanks for this. But one thing I will never do is compare kids as they are completely different people. Even twins don't turn out to be the same.

Was just bothered cause that's what they send in their school WhatsApp group. Have to be patient and with time he'll get a hang of it.

I understand you are trying to follow the school curriculum however, development differs among children. He sure will catch up, just keep encouraging and reward him each time he gets it right.

Mama you're doing well o kiss
Preschool teachers are really trying
Getting ds to sit and focus is not an easy job, altho he's always enthusiastic when he sees me bring his book and keeps disturbing me when he wants to write.
But I must say it's not easy, I try sooo hard not to spank him cause atimes it seems like hes just tempting me.. lol

He can count 1-30 and a-z with few mistakes
Identify some colours, animals and some other things
But you see to write, it always ends in tears. Just to follow dotted lines, tell him to do something and he does what he likes. I'm I pushing him too hard? Cause I think that's what they ought to be doing in school now as it's part of the work they send in their WhatsApp group. He 2.6years

I've abandoned writing for almost 2weeks now, I'll appreciate any tip that can help us do better.

In my opinion, I feel you are. He is less than 3years and you have so much expectations of him. I sometimes feel we are not in sync with realities and we keep running races, comparing kids, and at the end not bringing the best out of them as all they do is compete which is one of the major challenges our generation is facing.
