Here we go! Voting of of the Nomination Committee
Gentlemen and ladies of the thread, it is time for us to vote for those who will stand as representatives of this thread and partake in the selection of award categories and award nominees.
This year, the nomination committee will be made up of at least 7 : myself, icon4s who pioneered the award will continue as an honorary member of the committee and at least 5 monikers from this thread.
Every member of this thread is eligible to vote and be voted for. But let's keep in mind that this isn't a popularity contest. Vote for those you believe have the knowledge and ion for Nigerian football.
Here's the rule for voting:
1) You're to vote for 5 monikers from this thread to the committee;
2) Vote the monikers in order of preference, from top to bottom;
3) Points will be awarded to each moniker you vote for. Your first nominee gets 5 point, the second gets 4 points, the third gets 3 points, fourth gets 2 points and fifth gets 1 point.
4) At the end of the voting process, the five monikers with the most points will the committee;
5) In the event that two or more monikers are tied on points, they will all be added to the committee, as the goal is to have as many monikers to contribute to the process.
6) You're allowed to nominate yourself 😉
Voting closes on Wednesday, November 8th 2023, 10pm Nigerian time.
daveP:
If we want to win, can Nacho pls start from the bench pls? I imagine him coming from the bench in this game. And it was going to be fun if it happened that way due to the tired legs the Ghanaians had already.
Looked like Lookman struggled with the pitch. Why the falling? Very talented squad and AE just looks at allll of them and comes with the least lethal formation.
Does it mean that nobody noticed and that I get eyes problems. That pitch seems overgrown and it affected eagles play. It wasn't just osimhen and lookman that were falling al over the place, and the ball moved too slowly on the pitch.
Danielnino00:
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.
Sequel to my post yesterday where I expressed my intention to take over the responsibility of organising the annual Nairaland Nigeria Football award as requested by Icon4s this year, I'm glad to announce that the award would go ahead as planned, and I'll be coordinating it with Drklever.
Four people from this thread will the nomination committee alongside me and Drklever, with icon4s being a honorary member.
On this note, of the thread are to nominate 3 monikers they wish to be part of the committee. Unlike how it was previously done where we would nominate only one moniker, I suggest we nominate 3 each so as to make it more flexible and have more people nominated.
Here's how the nomination selection will be sorted;
3 points would be awarded to the first name nominated, 2 points to the second and 1 point to the last.
Example: I nominate Danielnino00, Drklever and icon4s. in this case, Danielnino00 will have 3 nomination point, Drklever will have 2 and icon4s will have 1.
At the close of the nomination process, the 4 monikers with the most points will be added to the committee. Any moniker that's selected to the committee but doesn't wish to participate for any reason whatsoever will be replaced by the another one from below the top 4.
Nomination starts now and close on Monday, December 27th 2021.
Thank you.
I nominate

I, as a Chelsea fan had great expectations on Mikel but unfortunately, he was not spectacular. Was totally underutilized.
Kanu Nwankwo was a make shift player throughout his career due to his heart disease and he was a seasonal player. Only achieved in European football but did nothing in the Super Eagle.
Okocha na Baba. But did nothing in club football and was behind Yekin during their days in the national team.
Who is the greatest ARGENTINE player of all time? Is it Messi or Maradona?
In of individual accolades, he won the African footballer of the year in 1993. Both Austin Okocha and Mikel Obi never won the award, how then can they lay claim to being the greatest Nigerian footballer of all-time? On this parameter, only Kanu is his competitor, he won the African footballer of the year twice but never won the AFCON. How can a player that never won the AFCON be the greatest Nigerian footballer of all-time? Yekini won everything a Nigerian footballer could have won representing the national team, both team and individual. The others can't lay claim to that.
The pitch seems to be in a near perfect condition.
And I can't wait to see again the time when the fingers in one hand were hardly enough to count the number of goals SE scored at that hallowed surulere stadium.
Burkina Faso! one of the proud recipients of The SE ruthlessness back in the days.
Setting: 1991, AFCON 1992 qualifications match. Match ended 7-1 with 4 goals from the goalsfather Yekini.
Elders in the house please confirm: Was this not the match SE played the first half in track suits tros cut to shorts size because some one forgot SE kits in the hotel?
The match kick-off was delayed for near 30 minutes.
The mumu go wan play for ,but e go old [/quot]
He'll be stupid to keep waiting for
He's 25 already and last played international football 3 years ago. He should take the leap if Ivory Coast calls.
Definitely, finding a genuinely young RB in NPFL is not impossible
How do you suggest this is done? And who do you suggest do the scouting? Our money for hand back for ground local coaches? And in what league? An inconsistent league that has been on break for how long? I know there could be genuinely talented young footballers in the league, but the system is too flawed to unearth one. Papa Rohr knows this and that's why he's not looking inward.
