Terzurum5, been a long long while my able OP. You have become a sort of hidden legend in here but your name will be always tied to the beginning of this great thread.

Since 2016, it's been going strong for 8yrs and counting now. Took over from another legend in Joseph1013, the forerunner.

Nice to see you again ing by, Terzurum5. I greet you specially 🤝🏻🙌🏽👊🏽

Ego? Wait mostob... you really do have a problem. This is not the first time your insignificant self will try to play down the efforts of people actually contributing to the thread. This is not the first at all. And ofcos I know you stay with the stigma of having been called out by me for groping to a pic of one of our Super Falcons players. The pain still rings fresh which is part of why you won't back down from saying nonsense.

A player I know nothing about?? Do anyone actually think that I have the time to mention every player or talent I know?? Lol

I have known about Nwaneri before he made that teamsheet but didn't think him necessary to mention until that day.

So it is until I mention a player here on NL that I know about the player?? What foolery is this?

So I must list all the talents I know about scattered across the Arsenal, Chelsea and other academies in England or Europe? I actually do my best. BUT WHAT DO YOU DO?? ALL YOU DO IS TALK DOWN AND SOUND FOOLISH.

All you do is attack but hardly do you contribute in of players monitoring OR players visibility. It is 2024 and you are still the same. How pathetic.

Everyone who comes to this thread and the previous threads before this one was opened by Terzurum5 knows reporting on players is like second nature for me. I make it look easy.

So you being an Arsenal fan and thinking only you and Arsenal fans should know about Nwaneri is absolutely silly of you. You are just very delusional.

NWANERI WAS MENTIONED ON THIS THREAD BEFORE HE EVER OFFICIALLY DEBUTED FOR ARSENAL

If that fact pains you so much as an Arsenal fan, then you can eat metal.

TheSuperNerd I saw your mention. I have been on the fringe of
this page for a while. It is a great experience to be here. It is always a mind-blowing experience ing others to discuss the Super Eagles and national football.

As far as we do not have a functional and consistent league, getting quality players for our age grade team will always be very difficult.

It is not a rocket science.
You need a well organized football league, the type that is not always interrupted by the league Management's or FA's politics or leadership crisis, a league that grooms and nurtures talents, a system that does not reward age cheats, where merit strives and players are chosen based on merit.

I don't know how long it will take us to get there

Amuneke got his chance with Equavoen, but they both failed woefully.

Finidi with Paserio gave us two wins and a goal-scoring record!
After Paserio, Finito will take over and he will be there for a long time!

Finidi possesses the charisma, humility, composure, and character to lead a team like the Super Eagles. Also, he has won it all!

I will not call them failure.
Coach Eguavon's team for instance, played the best attacking football I have watched from the Super Eagles for a decade or more.

What the NFF and the fans fail to understand is that these Coaches need time to setup their team playing philosophy for the players to adapt.

Give these Nigerian Coaches the right motivation and long term plan and see them produce results.

The aim should not be to get results in the short run. The hundreds of millions we have wasted over these mushrooms foreign coaches with not corresponding results would have been better utilized if the team had been trusted into the hands of our local Coaches.

You hire Nigerian Coaches today, pay them peanuts. The next 24months or less, you sack them to employ a foreign Coach who will reap us of thousands of Dollars with no meaningful result.

Give Coach Eguavon and Siasia a contract of 5 years and the enabling environment let them give you results.

This is the problem we have in this country. Someone throw truth at you, instead of you to counter them with superior fact, you're trying to water it down. This is why this country will never move forward with your kind mindset, praising and making your enemy your god. Think, brain is giving to think.

I don't think you replied the right person or probably you did not understand my comment.

As a core "Obidient movement" addict, I love Rufai Oseni.
No sincere Nigerian that loves the truth and progress of this nation will hate a ruthless journalist like Rufai.

Those who don't like him or don't want to listen to him how he drills the lies out of APC/PDP will not get used to his interviews.

All Igbos? I'm not igbo but I'm obliged to reply you because this type of foolishness that you're exhibiting is contagious. First off, any information you want to get about Obi, from his verifiable giant strides in government to the reason why he was listed in the Panama papers investigation is very well accessible on YouTube. It's all out there! But people like you who have chosen to deliberately remain deaf to reasoning will definitely ignore all available channels to your claims and just roll with whatever it is that you concucted in your WhatsApp group with the other bed-wetting gang. You're not concerned about the man who has made it pertinent that only he would decide who governs the entire south west region. Or the other guy who's criminal accomplice is currently rotting in jail in the US after ripping off Siemens group. NO, it doesn't concern you! It doesn't concern you either that one man amended a States law to have himself paid salary for life, get juicy government slots to hand to his family and friends, convert a States Government House to his personal property, become the sole taxation structure in an entire state, allocate hectares of lands to himself, amongst atrocities too numerous to mention. NO! That's doesn't concern you, its the fact that Obi kept rainy day funds in a foreign bank for his family BEFORE he ever dreamt of becoming governor, something that most wealthy men do, that is what you're more bothered about.

I pray you heal.
You sound like Rufai Oseni of Arise TV.
Oh
I have become so used to your interviews and personality such that I can identify your writeups or anything written by you whether your name is attached or not.
I read your reply but it rang in my Head as a speech than written words. As I read through, I saw you speak these words and not in written form in my subconscious mind.

Morocco vs. Nigeria: Preview, prediction, h2h, player to watch as Atlas Lionesses hunt down Super Falcons

The second semifinal of the 2022 Wafcon has thrown up an explosive clash between the impressive hosts and the experienced defending champions

A ticket to Saturday’s final is up for grabs when Nigeria face Morocco later today in the semifinal of the 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat.

Both teams have already qualified for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup after making it to this stage of the competition.

Very few things come close to lifting the ultimate trophy in the most significant female championship on the continent, though. And that would be the sole target of the two sides when they face off on Monday night.

Match Preview
As the most successful team at the Wafcon with a record nine titles, defending champions Nigeria need no introduction.

They suffered a bumpy start in Morocco, losing their opening match to South Africa.

But the coach Randy Waldrum-tutored ladies have not been found wanting since.

Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum
The Falcons carved out impressive victories over Botswana, Burundi, and Cameroon to maintain their record of reaching the final four of every edition of the Wafcon.

Only on two occasions in 11 previous attempts have Nigeria failed to proceed to the final after getting to this stage of the competition.

In Morocco, though, the Falcons meet a quality team capable of halting their momentum.

The Atlas Lionesses have been one of the best teams at this championship, claiming wins in the four games played.

The North Africans defeated Burkina Faso (1-0), Uganda (3-1), and Senegal (1-0) to top Group A and qualify for the knockout stages for the first time in history.

They continued their run further into uncharted territory when they beat Botswana 2-1 in the quarterfinals.

Led by Reynald Pedros, the French coach who guided Lyon to the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2018 and 2019, Morocco play some excellent football.

It's Judgment day Part 1: Umar Sadiq Seeks "automatic" La Liga Promotion, One point only needed

Umar Sadiq has had yet another brilliant season in Almeria colors in the La Liga Smartbank.

17 goals, 9 assists, 7 penalties won, 14 big chances created, 36 chances created, 26 big chances missed, 3 penalties missed all across 35 league games.

Today is his 36th of the league campaign. Just one point today secures Sadiq and Almeria automatic promotion to La Liga. Just one point.

And Sadiq will be coming up against his Naija brother, Kenneth Omeruo today in a battle for that automatic ticket to the Spanish top flight.

It goes down in 15 mins.

Sadiq starts as usual. Omeruo also start

Omeruo and Leganes have nothing else to fight for. Their winning today won't get them into the promotion Playoffs spots and their losing won't get then relegated. They are just "there" and safe.

But it is Sadiq and Almeria who have something to fight for.. LA LIGA Promotion.

If Sadiq and Almeria don't get that one point at least and Valladolid beat Huesca.... then Sadiq and Almeria will have Judgment day Part 2 via the Promotion Playoffs. They tried via the promotion Playoffs last season and fell short. Right now, they have a chance to avoid the Playoffs and get the automatic ticket today.

Wishing Sadiq and Almeria the very best even against another of our own, Kenneth Omeruo.

No hard feelings.... I am Team Sadiq over Team Omeruo just for this game. La Liga must finally see this young man.

And he delivered. So much happy for him.
Boss I dey salute.

So, we had Okoye man the post against Benin, and Uzoho man the post against Lesotho, with both goalies keeping clean sheets.

First of all, I am glad we have risen from the ashes of Akpeyi and Ezenwa, but I would genuinely like to know what you guys think of both players and the possibility of rotation between them.

Bear in mind, when I say 'rotation', I don't mean the way Enyeama and Ejide were rotated, but something with a little more equity. I genuinely feel like Ejide was shortchanged a lot in the team, because of Enyeama's brilliance, so, while I acknowledge how much of a legend Vincent is, I do feel a bit for Ejide.

So guys, what's your take on the Maduka-Uzoho GK rotation? If you can include their performances in the last two games in your analysis, factor their strengths and weaknesses, it would also be appreciated.

Cc: icon4s, Supernerd, andrewbaba44, Fabyom, Kog45, subzero047, terzurum5, and other forumites.

PS: If anyone thinks this should be a standalone topic outside of this thread, also signify.

Thanks
Okoye looks smarter, faster and very good with his ball distribution (better foot work).
He's got great instincts that helps him prepare for some unplanned balls.
Igo with Okoye.

In the area of defense organisation, Uzoho seems to be ahead. Uzoho looks very confident too.

The freekick he executed in the closing stages of the game that got to Ndidi, who ed the ball backward in a tune to distabilize the squirrels' defense was artistically beautiful. I believe they must have put into practice that art in training before the match day. How the tricky method failed to result to a beautiful goal has not worn down the beauty of the freekick.

You’re Wicked – Benin Republic Media Blast Super Eagles For Ending Their Eight Years Unbeaten Record At Home

by Odabi Precious.

The media In Benin Republic has tagged the Super Eagles as wicked and uncompromising for winning yesterday’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers game 1-0.

Prior to the game, the Nigerian team booked their spot at the next year tournament after Sierra Leone 0-0 draw with Lesotho but Benin Republic needed a draw to seal age.

Their plan was one kick away from happening before Paul Onuachu strike with what was virtually the last kick of the game to hand Nigeria a 1-0 in the third and final minute of time added on.

The goal also ended their unbeaten run at home which started since 2013 and has remained a source of pride to them in recent years. They were livid to lose it to a Nigerian team that has nothing at stake in the game.

“ Wicked Super Eagles End Squirrels Unbeaten Run”, one newspaper headline reads. Another had it’s front page headline this way “ Uncompromising Eagles End Squirrels Record For Fun”.

Highly respected Benin Republic media outlet La Nouvelle Tribune were also not left out tagging the Super Eagles as cruel for winning a game, which a draw would have seen both teams through.

“But how cruel these Nigerians are! They maintained the suspense in a match where they did not force their talent. Because, opposite, Michel Dussuyer, the Beninese coach has aligned a defensive team as if the objective were a draw. A result which would have suited both teams”, a section of an editorial reads.
