Please I want to ask the following questions here and I will appreciate your response(s)

1. I have a study gap of about 17 years and I have only been able to get a reference letter for the most recent place I worked covering 2014- June 2024. If I can get a reference letter(no employment letter was given) to explain the remaining 7 years , what else can I do and will it affect the visa application? Reference letter is fine for the study gap.

2. I haven't been in employment since June 2024, will that be considered a gap too and what can I do about it. It's just few month, in as much you have a reference that cover upto june 2024, you will be good.

3. Can a court affidavit be used to explain study gap and how? I mean what kind of affidavit. You don't need an affidavit for study gap, work reference is fine.

Please I need the answers and suggestions as I will be send my visa application soon

I landed In London-gatwick airport on thursday morning at 6:26am.

The Officer in charge wan whine me buh I no panic.

He ask me series of questions with a straight face.

This is how the conversation goes

Me: Hello good morning,

Officer: Hi, how are you doing?

Me: I’m fine thank you.

Officer: Your port please, which country did you come from ?

Me: From Nigeria sir

Officer: Why have you come to the uk?

Me: I’m here for my master degree

Officer: which course will you be studying?

Me: Msc business analytics and big data

Officer: Do you have your CAS letter with you?

Me: Yea sir

Officer: Let me see it

Me: I brought out my phone and showed him.

Officer: which course did you say you are going to study again?

Me: Told him business analytics and big data.

Officer: do you mean to say Business Analysis ?

Me: No, it’s business analytics sir (the whole time he was looking at the CAS) I’m sure he just said the business analysis just to see if I know what I’m saying.

Officer: How much have you paid from your fees ?

Me: I have paid £2000 and I also have £7500 schorlaship from them.

Officer: wow, £7500, how did you get this much schorlaship?

Me: I think I submitted a very strong application, the school was also impressed by my undergraduate degree transcript, and my SOP.

Officer: How are you going to pay your tuition balance?

Me: I have personal savings and from my family, I have the money ready.

Officer: You said personal money, how did you get that much money.

Me: I have been working as a freelance writer for the past 7years, I get most of my client from fiverr and Upwork.

Officer: nodded is head and said impressive.

Where will you be staying? Did you pay for school hostel or you will be staying at Airbnb?

Me: I will be staying with a family friend in Leeds till on Sunday (when I said this, his facial expression changed abit, before moving to Liverpool.

Officer: Do you have the address of the place you are going in Leeds ?

Me: Yes sir

Officer: Let me see it (so he gave me my phone back)

I then go to whatsapp to show him the address.

Officer: how will you get to Leeds from here ?

Me: I already booked a train for this morning sir.

So he looked at the port again and gave me a big smile 😃 and said Welcome to the United Kingdom.

Note: The man interviews one black guy before me, he drilled him alot and collected his port, I don’t what happen buh the guy left to see another officer which I Beleive to be there supervisor, he came back and stand behind me sha.

BPP university accepts HND buh be ready for UKVI interview.

For PGCE, it's best is to do it from Nigeria or in UK via online mode with a UK University.

Though applicant pay Application fee of £30
But they give 80% Tution discount so you only pay around £3500-£4000 per year only.

Instead of paying £15000-£17000 per year.

That way, you pay discounted fees and you can be working elsewhere and earning money for yourself since your study program is online.

And it's open to International students.

That's what most people are doing in UK now.

You know doing it online means you won’t be able to get a study visa. For 95% of the people they just want to leave the country and japa. So that online option

Yes, there have been people who took there dependent along with an Mres degree.

The problem is, not all Mres is research based, some are Mres by name but in the real sense the course is a taught program. The mistake the person made was he didn’t confirm from the school if the Mres they are offering allowed dependant.

If you are looking at Mres that allows dependant then look at schools like

1. Robert Gordon university
2. York St. John University
3. University of Brighton

There are more buh this are the schools I have seen people applied to and took there dependant along.

Lastly, if you see any school offering Mres, make sure to confirm from there ission officer if it allows dependant.

Please I stay outside Lagos and would like to know, is it a must to TB test while applying for visa or can I it whenever it's ready?
I'm thinking if I can book a TB test same week I'm expecting to get a biometric appointment date, to avoid travelling to Lagos twice. Please who can advise on this.?
Secondly, who has used the below hospital for TB test? I saw it on the UKVI site as list of approved hospital and they are quite cheap.

First, TB test is an essential part of the application process without it your visa cannot be approved, once you your document on the Ukvi website and submit, the button will be grey out, which means you can’t anything again, my advise for you is to wait and everything at once, failure to do this will eventually delay the decision making process.

2. The consultant practice is an approved tb Centre, it’s accepted by UKVI.

My sister submitted her student application since June 24th and on 27th they schedule her for online interview for 5th of July immediately after the interview she was asked to resend her statement of which she did immediately since then nothing have been said and the port is still pending showing received by DMC . Has anybody experienced such delay before
She send them an email on Friday and she was told that decision had been made and up till now is still showing received by DMC

Tell her to give them a paid call today, since decision has been made, TLS is the one delaying you now. Just give them a paid call and they will sort her application this week

There is no issue with that, a lot of people use bank statement that was generated from there bank app and get there visa.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Animal Production, and I am now preparing to study the accelerated two-year Nursing Programme in the UK. I hope to apply for my visa next week. My issue now is figuring out what documents to submit, enough to satisfy the requirements but not too much to raise unnecessary questions, or too little that could lead to further inquiries.

I have an 8-year study gap. Here is what I have so far:
- NYSC certificate (2018)
- Employment letters (2019-2023)
- Reference letter from a hospital where I volunteered (2022-2023)
- I haven't been working in an official capacity since late of 2023, so there's no reference to show for it.
- I also have a small professional course Diploma certificate and a result statement from a UK institute (distance learning).

Should I include all this? are there some that are not necessary? Are there some more documents that I need?

Yes, you can submit it all. Also make sure one of the reference covers upto 2024 so you don’t give yourself unnecessary issues. Maybe talk to the hospital where you volunteered to extend the reference letter to 2024.

The documents to submit depends on your Case. People generally submit the following pdf.

1. Visa application form
2. TB test
3. Work Reference letter (Very important to avoid nsf)
4. Bachelor's cert.
5. Bachelor's cert transcript
6. Bank Statement / Proof of Funding
7. CAS Statement.
8. NYSC (to satisfy study gap)
9. WAEC result (to satisfy English requirement)
10. Oanda printout if your day of submission (Optional)

NOTE: Make sure you don’t submit CV, you don’t need it and it might bring more attention to you.

They might not call you for interview, the standard processing time for a student visa is 15 working days. So if it’s not upto 3 weeks, don’t worry too much.

Yes, it’s normal. Since they have sent you an nsf mail, there wil be a little delay, you can make a paid call on Monday to ask about the progress of the application.
