Just finished watching our afcon qualifiers against Libya a d I can tell you for free that Cerezo is by far a better coach than chelle. He understands the boys better and play them in their areas of strength. The super eagle teams plays the kind of football we are known under Cerezo.A lot of people will beg to differ because of our loss to rwanda. Our full squad weren't on display because we had already qualified.Cerezo was trying to experiment with the game.I bet you with cerezo as team coach we would have beaten zim with a better style of play.Chelle am afraid does not understand our style of play and may not get it right for along time to come.

We want Onyeka & Uche in the team
Nwabali has made 3 obvious errors so far in his Super Eagles career
One against Ivory Coast in Afcon final
One against Zimbabwe in WC qualifier
One against Benin, partly Ndidi’s fault too

Okoye possible two
Against Tunisia & Rwanda

But who is the better goalie you’d be confident
in
There is no Perfect goal keeper. No matter how good a goal keeper he must concede goals if he has a thin wall of defense and that has been our major challenge. To win a game will be dependent on your ability to outscore your opponent for a weak defense or to have a good defense with a defensive midfielder on shielding the back for.For the Eagles to soar Onyeka, dele bashiru and Uche must be included in the next round of qualifiers for a very stable and well balanced super eagles team

Falani/Hausa are same as far as South is concerned.. Or do they write Falani Herdsmen and Hausa on their forehead to differentiate them?

When they commit crime, they are falanis, when they want to escape or cover up their crimes ,they are Hausa.

If actually they are different, the Hausas will stand up to defend their name, and image that falanis are tanishing.. I have never heard Hausa speak against the so called Falanis, that you claimed are the criminals.

So what are we not saying Oga?

Hausa too mumu. Why can't they rise up an declare war against this invaders that has taken over their Land.Until they do that any Fulani and Hausa man caught within out territory with weapons are culprits

I know emotions are high but this is not the best time for anyone to speak. Non Arewa's will never know the pain our people are going through. We are being persecuted in and outside our lands.

Hausa's are not Fulani's. We are peaceful and learned people.

We love to share.

We deserve to be loved.

All we have done is live peacefully and open our arms to receive everyone, including the Fulani's. But what did we get in return?
Unfortunately it is too late to separate the Hausa from the Fulani Identity.Even in active Politics you are referred to as Hausa-fulani.Am afraid if this continues the entire Nigeria will be hunting down every Hausa Fulani person under the guise of Liberty from Herdsmen attack.Hausa-Fulani will soon be an endangered specie

The Truth must be told.Iwobi may be the only creative player this generation of eagle have.Kelechi can also play the role of attacking midfield hence he should recalled back to the squad.Uche no doubt can play the advanced role but then again he is very slow on ball movement and doesn't not have the required experience for a tournament like Afcon.

Like this.

5-3-2 when defending and 3-1-4-2 when attacking. They cannot be defensively vulnerable using this kind of formation.
Eric chelle has to see this. This will no doubt solve the shaky defense of the team while allowing them to dangerously offensive.A monster of a team

Nice one but I think Ndidi should seat deep while Onyedika should take his place in the setup.onyedika is got skill set and can shoot from out the box

The missing piece of the super eagle puzzle.Perharps fate is paying us harshly for abandoning a player who gave all of his sweat and tears to the team in the last Afcon.

Chelle should try this in friendly

GK: Stanley Nwabali

DEF: Bruno Onyemaechi, Igoh Ogbu, Jordan Torunarigha, Ola Aina

MID: Moses Simon, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Samuel Chukwueze
Nice one but no creativity in the midfield.we need a midfield maestro not a sluggish DM in the person of onyedika
FWD: Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman

In a typical 4-3-3 formation (common for the Super Eagles), this trio could align as follows:

Onyedika: Sits deepest as the single pivot, screening the back four and distributing the ball to his more attack-minded teammates.

Nwakali: Operates as a left-sided or central midfielder, pushing forward to attacks while dropping back to help Onyedika when out of possession.

Iwobi: Plays as a right-sided or central attacking midfielder, drifting into pockets of space to create chances or combine with wingers and strikers.

A midfield of Onyedika, Nwakali, and Iwobi will click because it balances grit with guile, offering a platform for Nigeria’s attacking stars to shine while maintaining structural integrity.

Onyedika anchors the unit, Nwakali ignites it, and Iwobi amplifies it—together, they could provide the dynamism and cohesion the Super Eagles have sometimes lacked in midfield.

With the right coaching to refine their understanding, this trio could herald a new era of midfield dominance for Nigeria.

Quite impressive

Honestly when we saw the team selection for the qualifiers we knew we were done for.A team that has critical midfield issues is not having Onyeka and chrisantus uche. The Northern led NFF just come across as being so frivolous at the expense of excellence.Quota system should not come to play now because the best legs are what is needed to qualify this team.Even the injury plague taking semi ajayi and dele bashiru off was just another nightmare.perharps we just were not destined to qualify for this world cup

I never gave Ndidi a free .

Go through my earlier comments

Okay, when Iwobi was on the pitch, tell me something extra he added to the field of play

Tell me a notable significant impact he has had

Tell me (since group stages of AFCON) when Iwobi's es proved dangerous for the opposition and it led to a goal for Nigeria

Oga, when someone is the fulcrum of the teams midfield, he must be able to get blamed. It's a requirement of the job.

The truth is Iwobi is an overrated player. Same with Ndidi. Same with Moses Simon and definitely Chukwueze

Left to me, it's either these set of players should yansh down on the bench or not even get a call up again

It's called am opinion and I'm entitled to mine
Easy bro...who go come play the games.

Honestly I wish someone can tell coach chelle to play this players in their appropriate position. His formation though quite okay would be very effective if he allows this players in their natural position
Tchinaidi(m): 10:29am On Mar 22
There is a problem with this crop eagles most of them including the captain are not natural ball players. They are stiff, Lethargic and don't seem to know what to with the ball.Coach chelle has to get us some grassroots players with understanding of the the Nigerian Traditional style of player, real baller from the NPL to blend with a few foreign based players or else we might have ers loosing interest in our games. Our football play is very boring walahi

Raphael Onyedika Get Pivotal Role In New Super Eagles Midfield Ahead Of World Cup Qualifiers

Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika has been handed a key role for the Super Eagles when they take on Rwanda on Friday in the 2026 world cup qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
New coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle will be in charge of the team for the first time in Friday’s game, and has already mapped out how the team will play as they go in search of their first win after four games in the qualifiers.

Part of the idea of the new man is to have the team play a possession based football with high pressing from two midfielders higher up the pitch , while a lone defensive midfielder sits and dictate play from deep. That role is said to be for Onyedika.

Chelle watched him interpret the role to perfection playing in the UEFA Champions League for Club Brugge, and he has decided to hand him the same responsibility against Rwanda.

It looks like the duo of Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi will be the left sided and right sided midfielders respectively, playing very close to the wingers in Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman. They are expected to create an overload with top striker Osimhen in the box when the team attacks.

In defence, a back four of Ola Aina, Bruno Onyemaechi, William Troost-Ekong and Calvin Bassey will sit just in front of Stanley Nwabali who is expected to keep his spot as first choice goalkeeper.

This could be a dangerous move playing a onyedika as a lone defensive midfielder considering the fact that our defense is still shaky in the absence of Ajayi.I pray we don't concede early goals

😂😂😂

Funny lots.
The Coach better not lose the game because ers can't even wait to push the quota system narrative but then again why would an experienced battle tested midfielder like Onyeka be laid off for a home based player in a world cup qualification tournament given the very stakes.NFF are really the problem

Ndidi is no longer the player that he used to be, sadly we have no alternative at the moment
We do in the person of Onyeka but his on the ball qualities are just not impressive for a defensive midfielder.I think that is where Alhassan should come in
Tchinaidi(m): 5:18pm On Mar 16
To be Genuine Honest there is Nothing special about Onyeka. There are no doubt about his ability to tackle and win duels but football is much more than than running around the pitch. His on the ball qualities are significantly less to nothing and that explains why his absence from the squad.Alhassan on their can push the ball upfront as well give decisive es but may not be as rugged as onyeka.Coach chelle is known for high pressing game and is strictly interested in ball carries as midfielders hence his decision to go Hassan
