Infinix just can't stop expanding its Note 12 line. There is the vanilla model, a variant with the MediaTek Helio G96, a Note 12i, a Note 12 VIP, which we recently did a hands-on review of and the Note 12 Pro 5G. Last month the company promised to unveil the world's first MediaTek Helio G99 phone.
The Note 12 Pro 4G shares many specs with its 5G sibling, like the 6.7-inch, FullHD+ AMOLED display, the dual loudspeaker setup, the 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging and its camera setup with a 108MP, f/1.8 (1.92µm, 1/1.67" main snapper with two 2MP supplementary cameras and 16MP, f/2.0 selfie cam.
If the measurements are current, the 4G model seems to be slightly thinner at 7.8mm. Some of its other features include NFC, two nano SIM slots and a microSD one, as well as a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The biggest difference, of course, is the chipset swap to a MediaTek Helio G99. It is made on TSMC's 6nm node and features two 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 ones, plus a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Here it is paired with 8GB of RAM (expandable to 13GB via virtual RAM) and 256GB of expandable storage.

Transsion today announced that its Infinix brand has released the world’s first light-painted leather technology that changes colors under sunlight. Using it, s can customize the back cover of their phones by drawing a personalized pattern by blocking the light.
According to reports, the light-painted leather technology works by reacting to ultraviolet rays. A photochromic compound is integrated into leather whose molecular structure changes rapidly under sunlight, resulting in color shifting. The effect is temporary though, as the color of the leather gradually returns to its original state.
Transsion says that unlike regular electrochromic technology, Infinix’s light-painted leather is a ive color-changing technology, meaning it does not require any additional energy from a smartphone to produce color changes. Simply blocking the light in different shapes is sufficient for creating different patterns, opening up the possibility of endless customization.
The new light-painted leather technology will be applied to future Infinix products soon.
