Since i've been back to the country early this year, the place I hate going most is certainly banks. Worst experience is with Oceanic at Aromire, Ikeja, especially with some lady at the CS desk. The day I had to go open an was hell. It's like I was invisible and I had to ask so many questions to get answers to basic information that they should have ed across without having to ask. The way they look at you and address you, it's like they're doing you a favour! Withdrawing/depositing money is a serious task (all banks, well most)! By the time you manage to find the slips you need, you'll then face the crazy queue. Sometimes its so obvious you're waiting for someone to attend to you, but all you see is the staff chatting away. The only places that have been ok are GT(most branches) and Ecobank (Adeniran Ogunsanya branch).
Customer service and ego don't go together. Even if you lack motivation, it's just a civilised thing to give good service, you lose nothing, and you gain much. Having worked as a customer service supervisor in the UK, most of these guys wouldn't last a week with this sort of attitude.
To reduce to the minimum, I resorted to getting internet banking activated. Again, getting that with oceanic was a hectic process while GT was fair. Ecobank was ok too.
Banks should have have audits done by their headoffices which include customer services points with stiff penalties/deductions to those found wanting on any area. Individuals should also be assesed for the quality of service. Where I worked as a CS supervisor, we had mystery customers who went through the process from coming in to leaving with a product, and gave points on all stages of the service they got. This sort of thing should be done by banks to remodel their CS quality.

Has anybody read Ludlum's The Janson Directive? One of the best and last novels written by ludlum. And permit me to say it is the BOMB.

Yeah that novel's really an fantastic read. Once you start a Ludlum novel, you're literally in it till you finish.

@poster: Don't do it, it WILL backfire!

Best back off, the signs are already there. A girlfriend and another girl close to you don't mix. Despite your claims of no strings attached, she sees more than strings. Don't spoil the good thing you have, however 'innocent' your intentions.

It's wrong however you look at it, pull out now before the consequences get worse (there are consequences already).

DSTV is not so entertaining nowadays

NBC is right to ban the show as it is currently. If MNET still wants to broadcast BBA, then they should abide by the laws that guide broadcasting in Nigeria. Scenes that need to be censored should be. The media, especially (cable) tv is very influencial on young people especially kids. It is important not to promote some of the stuff that went on in BBA. Anyone who wants the uncut version can spend his or her money to buy the DVD afterwards.

Maybe there are some things you need to get off your mind to have a better picture. Perhaps you're unconsciously (or consciously?) comparing him with guys you dated in the past, especially with the physical attraction you mentioned, to the point that it has clouded your acceptance of him. You can't have it all, look at the things that are really important to you and make your decision based on that.

Stay WELL clear of blood oaths. It's unnecessary and most people that do it go into it without really understanding the in-depth deatail behind it, especially on a spititual level. Consequences (and there usually are) are always very devastating. In other words, it's g a contract with the devil cos God doesn't require such to show love between people.

Hey people, this is just a forum, no need to get all personal. There's been a deviation from the intended discussion. Anything else is not helpful. You've all made your points. angry

This seems to be a really serious topic. The thing though is most posters have valid points in what they have said. What i'll say is that it might be true for a lot of nigerian guys but not all guys. It's not good to generalize on such a thing. Perceptions are always influenced by the culture (way of life) of the society you live in.

I personally think education should come first. However, if you have an original business idea, then one should go for it and do the studying part time on the side. The education would give you a greater perspective and wider point of view to help improve your business later. People would point to the likes of Bill Gates but in those days, there were lots of things to be discovered and invented. Unless you're coming out with something of such impact, then make damn sure you get that degree certificate!

People shouldn't get carried away, there's still a long way to go. All that matters is the team that's still no 1 come the end of the season.

The reviews sound good and being someone who enjoys novels, i think i'll grab a copy and see what it's like. I've always believe Nigeria is a talent bubble.

I don't understand the logic behind this. Once again we always seem to focus on the wrong things. It's about trying to change peoples' minds. Banning ladies wearing tros wouldn't stop any lady being the holiest on Sunday and being far from a saint during the week. Such ladies would just find more creative stlyes to apply when wearing dressing in other attires and wear them to church!
