superintendents:@money121, he was one of the earliest that commented. Same as @pocohantas. You can see that they have **** in front of the names, they belong to the list of those that might not really need it. I already compiled their names before really thinking they might not need it and deleting them will throw off my numbering. It's now left for them to say they do not want to be a part or they want to give their slots to whomever they want. |

NPTJ: Thanks for the observation. Honestly I only looked through page 10 of the thread and from page 8, it was just repeated names. So it's possible that other names besides @VTJN might also not appear in my list. If there are other names, I'll appreciate it being pointed out for addition to the lists. Also I equally ommitted some names, like @byrron that I feel might not really need it, I might be wrong though. Thanks. 3 Likes |

[quote author=VTJN [/quote] I troway salute for you. You see hehh, the moment I decided breaking this giveaway into three separate plans, I envisaged something like this happening. While @byrron and some others that I cant their names were talking about how some contestants had people canvassing votes for them while other ones had no chance, I knew what was going on. I, at that point, was not worried because I knew the voting wasn't taking place on NAIRALAND. I had other plans to conduct the voting on other media which I didn't declare then and I'm not declaring now either. But as we all know, man proposes but God disposes. I was hit with so many things occupying my time that if I do not come up with a different plan, this giveaway might linger too long than normal and might not even be concluded in time for the festive season. So I decided to post anonymously in a section on Nairaland that's less likely to be visited but still get a few traffic here and there. Also, as an average Nigerian no like to read, I thought the section would be a perfect place to hide the post. I even hid their names and replaced them with generic names. And for anyone to visit that section, the person must be a reader. What more do I need than for neutral people to read through the plans and select the deserving ones?. It's less work for me and I can quickly conclude this giveaway thing.(so I thought). It was actually going fine until this guy (I no go mention your name but you know yourself) figured it out and gave a hint on this thread. You see, I no go forgive you oo for bursting my bubbles and exposing my covers ![]() ![]() So at this point, PLAN 1 has to wait while I decide on what to do. Plan 3 is next to be sorted out and that should be fairly easy. Na computer go pick those ones and computer no dey do ojoro. Thanks for your suggestions. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

bigjackass: The voting was necessary because I dont ever want that kind of power to decide who gets what. I believe in people's voice. It's true that I'm providing the fund but that's where my power ends. I could have selected randomly but with that kind of amount, I wanted something more meaningful than random selection. Yes people pointed out the sentimentality of some of people on here, which I was very much aware of myself, but I wasn't worried about that because my initial intentions was that the voting is NEVER going to take place on NAIRALAND. But plans changed due to my work schedule and my friends that were staying with me due to the tornado that affected their homes. I had not much time to dedicate to this and I risk not been able to see this through to conclusion on time. The mistake I made was not taking my time and sticking with the original plan of taking the polls out of Nairaland. Funny how you said you cant uncanvass what had been canvassed. I agree with that but what can also be done is reverse selection, which means selecting the winners from the rear. Maybe the last 2 contestants might actually become the eventual winners after all. Only time will tell. Meanwhile, I'll get Plan 3 out of the way soon and see where everything goes from there. |

Since PLAN 1 is currently SUSPENDED, I'll proceed to PLAN 3. Winners will be selected within the next 48 hours. Let me reiterate the yardstick for qualifying to participate in Plan 3 because so many people failed to read and just thought they can ask to be entered for the plan. YOU MUST HAVE COMMENTED, SOMEWHERE IN THE THREAD, PROVIDING IDEA ON HOW TO SELECT THE NEEDING FAMILIES. So, if all you said was asked to be considered and no idea was suggested, no matter how impractical it might be, you are NOT qualified and will NOT be shortlisted. Thank you. 1 Like |

seankafor: Trying to be perfect? Heck naa. Nothing in life is perfect. Trying to be fair and just?. Absolutely. If I was trying to be perfect, I would have asked for much more detailed plans and voting process wouldn't have been conducted on Nairaland. And yeah, we are still on it and no end in sight yet. |

I'm going to restart the polling BUT it's going to be OUTSIDE of NAIRALAND, which was my original plan anyways. I see lots of favoritism and vote canvassing going on and if I let it continue, the prize might not go to the deserving. The fact that someone is popular should not be a factor for winning a contest where quality of purpose is required. I know none of the contestants but what I know is what the provided. They were all given same resources, time and platform to tell us their plans. If I'm going to vote, I will vote for the plan that makes the most sense and not who I know. What happens here is a prime example of the political reality of the present Nigeria where man-know-man takes precedence over quality of purpose. If naija is to be great, we need to eschew politics of padi-padi and embrace progressive politics. What we have in Naija, and right here on Nairaland, is a regressive politics. I'm not ready to be a part to that. Thank you. 7 Likes 1 Share |

If I do not have enough votes (more than 20), I may extend the voting by 12 more hours till 12pm Wednesday the 15th of Dec. Okay so @Lemonadewifey, I got your plan in my email and obviously it's not a plan that's just written for the purpose of this giveaway. I have no problem with that but what I have problem with is the proposed startup cost. You should have at least put in some work on what you want to spend the fund on to reflect the total amount of fund you are competing for. Submitting the pre-written plan with a startup cost (115k) which is almost 2.5 times of what you are likely to win shows it wasn't a well thought out move for this giveaway. In the light of this, I'm sorry I'm not going to add you to the list of contestants. . |

Lemonadewifey: Be advised, less than 30 minutes left. If I do not have it by 9pm, I'm sorry the ship will sail. without your plan. If you are having issue sending via email, you can post it here. |

Crystyano: I'm sorry I have a theme for this giveaway which is for family. I tweaked it to cater for family with business, because targeting just families kinda was too broad and it would be a little hard to objectively select the deserving ones. I dont have the capacity to go out of my way and help everyone that has asked me to, both on this thread, on other thread and even through the shared email. There's no way I can do it. The only thing I can do Is add anyone with a business plan to the list of contestants to participate in the voting process. If you have a biz, either existing or intended, and you can get the plan across before 9pm today, I can add you to the list. That's the best I can do. I already have a budget and going outside of the budget will not speak well for me. Thanks. |
![]() |
Crystyano:Oh now I got your point. If you go through the previous ones (giveaways) that I conducted, I never let anyone decide the deserving winners for me, I do that myself. I give everyone equal opportunity and I try to make the selection as open as possible. The only 2 times I relied on recommendation were 1. When I did give away for 40 people and I needed someone to disburse the money out because I was busy and couldn't do it myself. 2. This particular give away where I got three people vouch for one of the people that signified interests in Plan 2. If you go through the pages, you'll find it. So in order words, I dont listen to what people say about someone. I listen to what the person is saying himself or herself. I appreciate your . I wish I could help everyone but it's damn not possible. |

Lemonadewifey:@ Lemonadewifey, I'm waiting on your plan. Like I said, deadline is 9pm tonight. If I do not hear from you, I'll go ahead with the others. Reach out asap. |

Hi @Crystyano, I'm sorry I didnt quite get what you are talking about here. I'm not trying to be rude or something, I just wasnt getting your point. Please know that I really appreciate and welcome constructive criticisms or s and I have a feeling your comment is one, but I wasnt getting what you are giving on. If you dont mind elaborating, I will be grateful. Thanks. Crystyano: 1 Like |

Lemonadewifey:I apologize I didn't see see your post where you showed interest earlier. There are so many that it was kinda hard to keep up. I had to go through your posts to confirm. Send in your plan before 9pm today to be added to the draw. Thanks. |

VTJN: Boss @VTJN, thanks for your honest . It's much appreciated. Let me repeat myself again. The purpose of this giveaway was initially to give to families with kids but then after ruminating on how to select the families that duely deserve the fund, I brought the business angle to it. The aim is to help families that has businesses and are cash starved. These four people responded and I selected the four of them. I dont know if they have millions in their s (no way to find out) but the only way I can see their seriousness is through their business plans. All these people are given Equal Platform. But when one of them is promised the exact amount that is being contested for, it threw the Equality Platform into the imbalance. This negates my original intent of giving to someone that DO NOT have. Like I said earlier, I do not have any idea if all these 4 contestants have millions in their s and come out here to claim they need fund, however what I do know now is one of them now has a promise of 50k. In all fairness, she's no longer in equality to the other 3 contestants that has nobody publicly promised them any amount. If the promise to her had not been in the open, she would have continued. And if any other contestants have such promises and in the open, such a contestant stands to be disqualified. No strings attached. I want to respectfully counter yours and @brryon assertions that she would not have won anyways, that is absolutely not true. Here's the scenario that I noticed: The first person gave her plans and everyone was rooting for her. Then the other contestants submitted hers, and then she started gaining upper hands. It's all about the quality of a plan and how its presented. @Ummufarrah was written off completely even before she gave her plans, by herself inclusive. When she contemplated dropping off, I personally encouraged her not to do so because I knew she stands a better chance at winning. (This can be verified, its somewhere in this thread). I have absolutely nothing against any of the selected four. Also I know none of these contestants but I believe in equality. But when there's an imbalance in equality, concept of equity sets in. Her being "given" 50k threw of the balance of equality, hence I had to introduce the concept to equity. I believe in spreading the wealth, let almost everyone get something. Wealth should not be concentrated in the hands of the few. Once again, I appreciate your constructive . 2 Likes |

byrron: Bro I really respect your view. But incase you missed it, nothing at this point is guaranteed. Even that someone wins the vote does not mean they will get the fund if they fail verification of claim. It's not everyone that'll have the patience to go through the entire thread and see that one of the contestants had been promised a certain amount. Voting is not going to take place in this thread not even in this section. I'm gonna post in a totally different section to avoid bias because some of the contestants are popular than other. I want their plans speak for them, not their popularity. I know popularity will still play few part, but it will be considerably reduced. Who knows I might even take it out of Nairaland completely to give a level playing ground. As for the BBN example you set, my Oga, none of the BBN contestants goes home empty handed. As long as you made it in the house, you get something, whether you're evicted 1 hour later or you made it to the final. They are all winners, they just have different amount of wins. On the other hand, one of the contestants in my giveaway will go home with 0 naira. It might even be 2 of them if @ummufarrah is allowed to compete. I'll rather have one than have two. @UmmuFarrah is already a winner, so it's a win-win situation. 2 Likes |

byrron:Sometimes we just have to set the rules aside and be objectively human. I don't know any of the 4 contestants from Adam but what I do know is the 4 of them need some fund for their business. If @UmmuFarrah is allowed to continue with the competition and let's say she win the 50k, that puts her at 100k, whereas 1 of the other contestants would be denied. It's unfair to me. I believe in spreading the wealth, rather than having it concentrated within a few. And going by your example of a member of an organization winning an endorsement, the key words here are "TEAM" and "ORGANIZATION". A team works together to achieve an organizational goal. If a team member wins the endorsement, he or she wins for the team and not for himself/herself. There might be some personal pecks attached to it, but the bottom line is the TEAM won the endorsement. In the case of this competition, every of the contestants is his own organization and team. They are individual entities. Besides, the competition has not even started yet. Competition starts when voting start. Then it would be unfair to disqualify her then but at this point any of the other 3 candidates can still be dropped if need be. 1 Like 1 Share |

UmmuFarrah:@UmmuFarrah, I hope you understand why I did what I did. I dont know you from anywhere and I don't know any of the other 3 contestants. I just want a fair and level play ground for everyone. I'm sorry but that is the best course of action with the turn of events. |
![]() |
byrron: I appreciate your input. What I did to me is the true definition of being fair. You would not have known about her if she had not signified interests and I selected her. Yes, the voters will decide but the game changed when you singled her out of the park and promised her 50k. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what you did but it's not fair to the other 3 candidates. You have your yardstick for choosing her over the other 3 but it puts her in a better financial position over the rest. Allowing her to continue will not only be unfair to the other contestants but also to others that have been asking for help in one way or the other on this same thread. It would have been a different ball if you had not announced it on here, but since you did, technically she's no longer qualified. Thank you. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Supreme145:You're exactly right about MummyMalik, her track record spoke for her. About PLAN 1, none of the 3 is a push over. They all have equal chances. |
