kingreign: Been driving around without airbags for few weeks. This hit me hard...time to address and fix. @Engineer Gazzuzz, my 2010 honda accord airbag light suddenly came on while driving (no history of accident here in Nigeria and abroad from VIN check). I disconnected the battery ternminals...no luck. A scan of the SRS system is no longer successful (no communication with SRS module) but I was able to manually pull U0151 50 code on the dashboard. Since the airbag light came on, i do not get warning beeps if seat belt is not in use (though pretensioner works on motion), doors won't auto lock if speed hits 10km/hr and driver door wont unlock if i shift to park. Abeg, how do we fix this? ![]() U0151 - Guage control module lost communication with SRS unit. |

Hi Engineer, my 2010 accord is currently due for B14 service at 101K true miles. I have done everything recommended except the big three; timing belt, water pump and valve adjustment. Question: How long can I defer these, if I do not want to carry out at this time? Also, what do u recommend?? Car has no history of abuse, I do try my best in of maintenance; M1 oil, type2 coolant, DW1, iridium spark plugs etc. PS: Thanks once again for the M1 free delivery to Lekki 2weeks ago.

SpeedRacer: Focus on the slider pins and rubber boots; the pins should move freely and the rubber boots should not be cut or swollen. Use brake lube not the regular grease. Regular grease will heat up and become sticky. Apply lube to caliper pins, clips, edges of brake pad mounts and back of brake pads. |
![]() |
kingreign: True, premature wear of the rear pads. However, this can be prevented by: 1. Swapping the rear caliper slider pins (top to bottom, bottom to top) and/or 2. Installing v-springs I did both despite I drive a 2010. |
![]() |
kingreign: The 8th gen accord uses Electronic Braking Proportioning that improves braking compared to earlier generations mentioned. The rear pads on 8th gen does alot/most of the braking thereby reducing distance and eliminating nose dive...zero nose dive! Many owners are ignorant and do not pay attention to the rear calipers/pads and therefore loose braking power. Hence, I run heavy duty dot4 fluid, service with brake caliper lube, I also use Honda OEM pads with v-springs installed. Once, I feel a little nose dive....I know its time for brake job. 2 Likes 1 Share |

kingreign: True...it is recommended for use as low beams. Like i stated earlier, I use it on my low beam and it is very appropriate...sees clearly. My high beam remains stock halogen for a reason. |

ahmstrng: Well...I currently have C6 HID lights on my Accord 2010 low beam. It cost me 5K back then, impressive at night, each has a cooling fan and does not require a ballast. Just ensure your headlights are clear and not foggy.

ahmstrng: Speaking from experience, most likely cause is bad fuel...change station where you buy fuel immediately. If you lucky, the code will go off, else P0420 might show up soon. Worked for me and a friend that uses same car...for almost 2yrs now, I buy fuel from same station for the Accord. You will know whenever you buy quality fuel; instant throttle response and no slight vibration at cold startups in the morning. |

Johnsonkeyz2019: All things being equal. 5w20 - better fuel economy 5w30 - better engine protection I'd choose engine protection over fuel economy any day. 1 Like 1 Share |
