But when a car sales thread is booming and Google mechanic keeps creating threads to undermine the business there or to create doubts in the minds of prospective buyers...then we need to take a second look. A good alternative should have been to ask amdman how he tackles rust issues with Canadian cars.... That would have been truly appreciated by all and sundry....

Treat your Benz well and it will treat you great. the Benzworld.org or mbworld.org and read up on what your mechanic will NOT or NEVER learn in two life times. And get yourself a good scanner... Check your oil filler cap for same mixture... it's most likely overhang issues with your burnt gasket....

I'm shocked many people don't know kerosene drives diesel engines. Jet fuel is high quality kerosene.

Bonus:

Nigerian crude oil is so high quality it can drive diesel engines without refining; another advantage of diesel cars.

This is someone with a diesel engine experience. Well said. But as for the kerosene

I used c220 CDI, Low acceleration but monster speed. Only noisy for the first 1-3 mins. It had a nozzle problem and the useless mechanic messed it up. I was forced to sell it off. I will still still go for a diesel engine in the near future when I chop up.

Two key turn off are the technical know how of our mechanics and very poor fuel quality.

What kind of nozzle problem did it have?

Do the car right- service well and use the recommended ATF. Honda EOD doesn't tolerate maltreatment, unlike that other one whose name I won't mention.
