What happened to Israel on October 7 was a war crime; it wasn't terrorism. Israel says that they gave Gaza to Palestinians as a state. Hamas is the government of that state. Israel seems to be their enemy. So their attack was an act of war and the atrocities were war crimes.

Justdare:1. Sack all the failures who allowed the attack to happen despite having the plan and receiving warnings from Egypt and female spotters. 2. Close all the loopholes that Hamas exploited to get into Israel. Secure the borders of your country from your hostile neighbour. 3. In going after Hamas, make a clear distinction between Hamas fighters and civilians. Don't destroy homes just to make civilians feel bad. Don't cut off food, water and medication. Don't call them human animals or Amalekites. Don't kill entire families. Try to be surgical. They saw Hamas fighters training to attack them in the open, and did nothing. Now they are killing innocent civilians. It should have been the other way round. 4. Go after the fighters and the people they report to when you have the opportunity to do so with minimal collateral damage, Take your time and do it right. The problem is not what they say that they are doing (going after Hamas) but how they are doing it (indiscriminate bombing and shooting everything that moves) and why they are doing it (rage & revenge). 1 Like |

Ladies and gentlemen, the Romance section has gone to the dogs because of the inactivity of the current s. We need 2 new s who are ionate about Romance and Nairaland, and can dedicate sufficient time to remove inappropriate content, ban people who break the rules, and create threads on hot topics to ensure that the Romance section attracts more engagement. Most importantly, the war between men and women on this section must end. Women need to feel safe to participate and share their views in this section without being harassed by men. And vice versa. This requires consistent and unyielding enforcement of the rules every day. If you know someone who is fit for this role, please nominate them. Someone who has been consistently active in this section for a long time, and who has not been a habitual rule-breaker during this time. If you're nominated, please indicate your acceptance and let's talk. PS: Sorry, you can't nominate yourself. Someone must nominate you and then you can accept the nomination if you're interested. ![]() 16 Likes 1 Share |

Hello Everyone, There have been numerous complaints about anti-women, anti-feminist and misogynistic content on Nairaland, especially in this section. This is not unrelated to the rising popularity of people like Sola, who are trying to fight back against the perceived excesses of woke western feminism. But it has brewed too much toxicity. It has driven too many women out of the Romance section and out of Nairaland. They feel that they are always being attacked by male Nairalanders who seem to hate and despise them. How can we make women feel welcome in the Romance section and on Nairaland? What rules should we put in place to bring women back and make them very happy? Cheers. 26 Likes 2 Shares |

Fellow Nairalanders, I hereby declare a total war against name checkers on Nairaland. Anyone who draws attention to the tribe of a criminal on a thread about a crime will be banned. This applies regardless of whether they do it overtly or covertly. Every offender will collect a ban because this is regarded as a tribal insult. The minimum ban period is 14 days. If you have offended multiple times, it's 30 days. If you keep offending, you may be permanently banned. - Seun Osewa. PS: I've just made a communication breakthrough with the s on this issue. I expect results. 905 Likes 96 Shares |

Women use the term, "my man" or "my guy" all the time.

If you help a man, he will appreciate it for a long time. If you forget, he will remind you. It is as if he owes you a debt. The guy that helped me to bring back Nairaland in 2014 could do no wrong in my eyes until last year. And even now, you won't catch me saying anything against him. If you help a woman, she will appreciate it for a short time. 3 days. A week. A month. 3 months. Then it's as if you never helped her. It's history. Your help is like a subscription. Once it expires, you can be ghosted. Unless you renew it. And there are many other subscribers, so stop feeling as if yours was such a big deal. ๐ญ PS: Please o; I don't do redpill. Women are not ungrateful. They recieve help all the time, which they deserve. I'm just speaking from pain. ๐ญ 180 Likes 29 Shares |

Nobody has offered them a two state solution in decades. Netanyahu instigated the murder of a PM who wanted to offer it to them. And he was blamed for it, yet just 3 years later after a terrorist attack, they voted him in. Netanyahu has itted that he is against the establishment of a Palestinian State. So it is disingenuous to suggest that it's the Palestinians who don't want it. Both sides believe that the whole land belongs to them. Both sides would like to push the other side out. Israel wants to push Palestinians into neighbouring Arab countries. Palestinians want Jews to return to Europe and America "where they came from". This is not an issue of picking sides. 10 Likes 1 Share |

I can't take my eyes off the conflict going on in Israel. I was raised to believe that the Jewish God is the true God. The Old Testament we studied is part of the Jewish scripture. Our bible heroes like Moses and David were Jewish heroes. Israeli music touches me because the language sounds so familiar, from all the bible reading. When I heard that Israel was invaded by Hamas fighters from Gaza and they went from door to door shooting civilians for HOURS, I was shocked and disgusted. Then I learned that they were not just killed, they were tortured. Men, women and children were defiled, mutilated, kidnapped, blown up, had hands and legs chopped off, eyes gourged out, etc. while the Palestinian invaders laughed at them. I was disgusted with Hamas, but also disappointed with the Israel Defence Forces, and Netanyahu, who totally failed to protect their civilians. We were totally on Israel's side at this point because what happened to their civilians was unforgivable. They surrounded Gaza and started pounding "Hamas targets". Within a short period of time, thousands of Palestinians had been killed. We started getting concerns when the bombing didn't stop. They just kept bombing everything. It was becoming difficult to believe that the same Israel army that was totally unaware that Hamas was planning a massive invasion suddenly knew the location of every Hamas operative in Gaza and was targeting them precisely. Then we started to take note of the words of the Israeli leaders. The comment about blocking food and water from Gaza because the Palestinians are "human animals". The confession by the air force that they were focused on inflicting "maximum damage, not accuracy". Which means they didn't care about collateral damage anymore. Some of them talked about flattening Gaza and nuking Gaza. They were openly questioning the notion of innocent civilians in Gaza. Suggesting that the civilians deserved to die because they Hamas. Netanyahu called them Amalekites, the tribe that God commanded the Jews in the bible to totally destroy - men, women, children, and animals. At this point only muslim countries were complaining about Israel's actions. Western countries ed Israel's "right to defend itself". Then we learned that Israel uses AI to choose targets and about half or more of them were "power targets" which were destroyed primarily to shock and dismay the Palestinians and not because destroying them had any military value. They intentionally demolished residential high rise buildings, the parliament building, university faculties, schools, etc. They used massive 2,000 pound bombs which increased the collateral damage. They drove Gazans out of their homes in the north into refugee camps in the south, which often got bombed. Nowhere in Gaza was safe. They stripped surviving men naked, blindfolded them, tied their hands, and called them terrorists. Western countries started to change their tone. Joe Biden and Macron openly said that Israel was bombing Gaza indiscriminately. The US said that most bombs Israel dropped in Gaza were dumb bombs. Western newspapers started conducting investigative reports exposing Israel's atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank. Then we learned that Israeli soldiers shot at 3 of their own escaped hostages, who had removed their shirts, and were waving a white flag on a stick. One of them ran into a building and they followed him there and shot him dead despite his pleas of mercy in Hebrew. They only realised that they made a mistake because one of the men had red hair, which is unusual for a Palestinian. This is where we are today: Nobody believes that Israel is the moral army that they claimed to be. Nobody believes that they are precisely targeting Hamas fighters. Nobody believes that the government of Netanyahu and Ben Gvir genuinely wants peace. Everyone, not just the muslims, now believes that Israel's goal is to drive Palestinians out of Gaza (some of their officials have said it). The Economist openly called for Netanyahu to be fired. The US actually denied their request for attack helicopters, which is a first. That may have gotten to them, because they recently itted that the missiles they used on a refugee camp were inappropriate and caused unnecessary civilian casualties. However, Israelis are still in post October 7 rage mode. They can't understand why the world is against them after what Hamas did to them. They are not interested in conceding anything to the Palestinians for peace. Netanyahu will be removed for failure, but his replacement is unlikely to be a leftist hippie. Palestinians, on the other hand, Hamas more than they did before, so peace looks very unlikely. 20 Likes 8 Shares |

ahnie:My supermods were reluctant, so I banned a ton of people myself. For hours and hours. But I couldn't sustain that indefinitely. It's like cleaning a house with multiple toddlers. As soon as you stop cleaning, the house will get dirty again. My supermods could not be persuaded to handle the spammers the way that I wanted them to. What has changed is that I am ready to bring in new people to do the job and if they fail I am ready to replace them as many times as necessary in order to find someone who will do it. The problems of Nairaland will always be on my mind due to my presence. Solutions will be found. But I need the assistance.of Nairalanders. I cannot do it alone. We need people who can be trusted with responsibilities such as the ending of name-checking on the crime section of Nairaland. 16 Likes 4 Shares |
