Rates generally in the fixed income market are low . If you are thinking of 1 month . I will advice you invest in the money market fund . Its secure and ed by SEC . You will earn between 4%- 6% . Rate are not always fixed . Don't be tempted with high rate . It better to have your principal intact with small change on it, then lose 30m because of 1m profit. If you are looking at 180 days - 270 days. You can consider commercial paper.the Rate on this is dependent on the issuer but ranges between 6.5% - 13% .

possible merger with NB....just my thinking

I think you may be correct on this . The major investor Ruk... just bought 1.9m shares . From my calculation their shareholding increased from 60 to 84.5% . This major investor is owned by Henikin/NB. They may offer to delist and offer existing shareholders juicy amount.

Insurance stocks na be careful thing . Have Unic insurance 40,000unit (#12k) on my portfolio can't sell it for over 2 years now m.. Visual money cheesy grin. Get your information before you enter o.

Mcy56:

Bros, don't just jump inside any insurance stock oo, there's the need to carry out due diligence on any one you want to buy.
Also, information is key to anyone you want to buy.

Aiico was much noised here.......by OGG. and later by my humble self.
At 79/80kobo, it was again re-echoed........guess the negative sentiment won't allow many to see the gains embedded therein.

Anyway, Aiico is already high, only much beneficial to those who keyed-in lower.
Consider Royalex and pick at 20/21/22 if you can get. Do your DD pls.

I'm a former employee of axa mansard. The money market is good cos it's a low risk investment for little risk takers like us but as at today, the rate is 8.4%, don't know why it's dropping that much from 12% down to 8. It's crazy. Anyone with info of other providers?

Stanbic 9.42%

ARM -10.3%

The drop in Tbills rate affected the money market mutual fund . Tbills now at 4%- 5.4% at yesterday's auction . Most fund managers a large % of their money market fund in Tbills and little in commercial paper and co

You can consider investing in money market mutual fundfund. Which is more liquid and guarantees your capital any time.
You are not tied to any particular rate , but you enjoy current rate in the market

The FGN bond is safe to invest in.cos it issued and back by the federal govt of Nigeria and its asset..
You might only lose money if you liquidate before its maturity. The minimum period of the bond is 2 years/3yrs. If you need money for an emergency and you need to liquidate it , it may be a period when bond prices are down.
When interest rate raises bond prices go down . .. And vice versa

Had similar experience,my certificate was missing.
I visted Veritas registrar(former Zenith reg), with a valid ID card, and after g sample of my signature , I was given a form listing my different unit of zenith bank shares.
was told to give to my broker . who will stamp and sign and return to the registrar. I was given a dematerialisation / transfer form by my broker to sign too with my valid ID (govt issued id card).

For a low risk investment and saving towards a project, I will advice you go for ARM Money Market. you can also set up direct debit ( standing order) a way to be dedicated to saving monthly.

ernie4life:

thanks for your response, am asking most questions so that those interested in ARM mutual funds can know some of the features,

now you said you gave a standing order to enable you save, does that mean all of them will still mature at the same time
the standing order or direct debit add up with you balance. interest is added daily. so if you have #50k january , and you add 25k on feb 4, you statement will read 75k on feb 5 and accumunated interest for that period. so interest from feb 5 will now be base on 75k. you can access it anytime.
