Soyinka didn't say this. If you're an ardent follower of the professor you'll know these are not his words. He doesn't choose words like these...
And the fact that the Ops didn't put any link buttress my suspicion.
Verdict : another desperate and shameless propaganda from the bottomless pit of pdp.
Dear Ops, this is serious claim, you have to provide a credible link. Else,.... It's gone with the wind

874 officers suspended from IPPIS as FG detects 1,618 with fake Letters of Employment

A total of 1,618 workers whose letters of employment were either fake or illegal in the Federal Civil Service has been detected according to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation(OHCSF)

A total of 1,618 workers whose letters of employment were either fake or illegal in the Federal Civil Service has been detected according to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation(OHCSF)

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, revealed this on Tuesday in Abuja during an oversight visit by the House of Representatives Committee on Public Service Matters, who came for monitoring of the 2021 and 2022 Budget performance of the office.

Yemi-Esan disclosed that this ugly development led to the suspension of 874 officers from the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS) platforms for not updating their records and 3,657 workers detected by the Federal Civil Service Commission, who did not present themselves for the exercise.

In her Presentation,Yemi-Esan, said the introduction and implementation of the Human Resource component (HR Module) of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) has greatly assisted the Federal Government in bridging the gap created by the implementation of the IPPIS project.

She pointed out that it has also detected as well as corrected a plethora of fraudulent cases pertaining to personnel records of civil servants.

She further highlighted other achievements of her Office which include induction, SMAT- P and LEAD-P training programmes; Performance Management System (PMS), which is billed to replace the present APER in 2023, starting with the first MDA that completes its training.

Other achievements recorded by the OHCSF, according to her, include “Innovation; digitalisation; staff welfare, which has done very well in the provision of affordable housing through the Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) programme, introduction of the Federal Civil Service Bus Scheme to ease civil servants’ transportation to and from their workplaces, agri-entrepreneurship programme; reward and recognition scheme and the provision of Group Life Assurance for Federal Government employees.

CONTRAR to what the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has made the public to believe concerning the lingering ASUU strike, FG has not met the demands of ASUU. What they did was to offer promissory notes to ASUU, same promises that they keep giving each time ASUU embarks on strike.

These are the promises:

1. Promise to release revitalisation fund of 170b and to be included in 2023 budget

2. Promise of Earned allowance of 50b For all the university based unions and to be included in 2023 budget

3. Promise of 30k salary increment for lecturers and 60k for professors and to be included in 2023 budget still. ASUU sees this particular offer as miserable and insulting. What happens to the draft of renegotiated agreement submitted to FG two months ago.

4. UTAS performed well in the test and MAY be deployed.

Nothing was said about the draft of the just concluded renegotiation between the Brigg's committee and ASUU.

To those who may want to know, these are same promises FG has been making year after year without fulfilling any and there are no indications that they have changed. So ASUU rejected this offer. However, FG came to the public to paint a picture that looks as if ASUU has accepted all their offers but insisted on payment of arrears of salary before calling off the strike. This a lie. FG promissory offer was not accepted by ASUU, it's not just about arrears of salaries that has flooded the social media.

If I may comment on the withheld salaries, there is nothing to worry about. If the govt is not willing to pay the backlog of salaries, then the backlog of work will be skipped and the school calendar continues at the normal pace. That means lecturers will not resume from where they stopped before the strike. All pending lectures, exams and marking of scripts, practicals, projects, etc that were supposed to take place during the strike period will be forgotten. Lecturers will skip whatever was left and resume a fresh session. The issue
