I find myself in a dilemma and would greatly appreciate your informed opinions and advice.

I’m about to venture into the haulage business and initially considered purchasing Mack R Model 30–32-ton dump trucks. However, I’ve also noticed the increasing presence of Sino Howo dump trucks in Nigeria. After conducting some research, I discovered that Sino Howo trucks are quite popular in Nigeria, with spare parts that are relatively easy to find.

That said, I would like to seek your guidance on the following:

1. Which truck is more rugged and better suited for Nigerian roads?


2. Which option has more readily available and affordable spare parts, and mechanics who can easily handle repairs?


3. Which truck is more fuel-efficient?


4. Is it better to go for a manual or automatic transmission?


5. Between injector and rotor engines, which is more reliable in our local context?

I'm currently weighing the option between a fairly used Sino Howo and Mack R Model (over 20 years old). Additionally, I would appreciate advice on which specific area of the trucking/haulage business is most profitable to invest in here in Nigeria, as I understand there are different sectors within the industry.
